I thought there were more woman in the world then men?

Anyways although I dislike the fact that the world as a whole needs to seperate people into groups, I have no problem with anyone's sexual preference. (I'm not a fan of labels, or advertising, or corperations, e.t.c.).

The only time I have had problems with gay men, were with their personalities, and not their sexuality.

I'm gay and very happy with it, eventhough my family isnt so happy. I usually dont act feminine at all, but I have my moments sometimes, but for the most part people wouldn't even know I was gay unless I told them.

What makes you think this? I'm sure anyone who knows the whole gender morality around the world wouldn't believe in such.

Voted love is love.

I do not mind same-sex couples at all, in fact I do my best to support - which is the reason why I often heard "You support homos? Ew! Are you nuts? What would you do if everyone suddenly turned homo? The world would die out!"

So what? If that's whats going to happen, it will happen and I do not see it anyone else business to butt into other's peoples live like that!
The only thing I myself do not like if I tell a girl clearly, that while I do support same-sex couples, I'm not interested in having a relationship with a girl and they just can't accept that, telling me I'm a hypocrite...

Anyway, I think everyone has the right to be happy - as cheesy as it sounds - and if one actually gets up the courage to ask the one one cares for out and is lucky enough to have the feelings returned, it's in ones damn right to get happy.
I don't think it's the right of parents, family or friends or worse -> outsiders to have the right to destroy that happyiness.

That is not necessary. If you can't respond in a respectful way, then don't respond at all please. If Ziggurat wants to be closed minded let him be.

I posted here long ago, and I still think that it's not the body that loves, but the soul, so seriously, who cares about sexuality?!?!

I hope this won't offend anyone: I think everyone has to potential to be attracted to everyone, no matter what gender...basically, everyone is "bisexual" :o I hope that doesn't offend anyone :(
It's just...many things influence it. Sometimes, even the way you were raised...but prejudices are so horrible. I mean..Love is the very nicest, best emotion there is!!! It can't be wrong to love.
I have no problem with any sexuality...a human is a human. A soul is a soul. Love is love. It's really simple...I understand that some people just cannot accept it yet...but it's kind of sad :(

I understand your point but... loving someone and being attracted to someone are two very different things, so I don't agree that we're all bisexual, I mean you have friends of your same sex right? and I suppose you love them too, but do you feel attracted to them? I know I have a good friend and I really love him but I would never want to kiss him or anything, I'm hoping I'm not offending anybody with this, just wanted to make a point.

Oh, I didn't mean attracted to XD I'm not saying that you have to be attracted to men now :o But somewhere in the world, there is probably at least one soul that is compatible to you, maybe in a male body ^_^ You probably won't meet that person :o
I now that all sounds bizzare and weird, I'm sorry :( And I understand if you don't like my point of view ^_^
No, I have never really felt attracted to anyone, but loves lots of people, in a non-sexual way, yes =D As everyone I've met up till now just...I don't know. It's not there XD
I think there are many souls on earth that fit perfectly well to one person. It just depends on which one you meet first...and which after, too.
To me, sexual preferences are something like an illusion XD Of course, if you see someone that attracts you, like a celebrity, that is something different..
Sorry if this offended anyone D:

Voted for I'm fine with it. Love is love.

Being bisexual myself, and being able to say I've felt love and had even relationship with members of each sex, I could not really say myself anything else =P

Not commenting further. Just stated my answer.

To Drew. From last statistical count, there were more woman in the worls then men, though thats not quite on topic.

To foomin, I have no problem with the feminity, its the actual personality (One guy, found out that I liked a girl, whom I had yet to gain the courage to ask out yet, so ran straight to her and told her. I got rejected by proxy).

Just because you find it okay to post images with derogatory terms doesn't make it okay. It is against the rules and shouldn't be done period. THere are ways to respond in a respectful manner even if you do disagree with them. As Ziggurat wasn't talking to any specific person on this board, however, Mei Ling was. So in short, Mei Ling broke the rules and whether you care or not is of no concern to me.

honestly, i think that lots of young gay folks find the media's portrayal of homosexuality to be glamourous and clever, i, however, am extremely frustrated by it, since it's so stereotypical(think Jack from Will & Grace). for me, my gay-ness is only one small part of my personality, i like being a guy(i DO NOT want to be or act like a woman), i like "normal" clothes from A & F, the GAP, Target...whatever, i am not "obsessed" by my appearance, i do not dance(ever) or lisp, i do not plot intrigues to meddle in others lives, i try REALLY HARD not to be dramatic, but as many of you surely know, i'm not always very successful at that one. i'm just a guy, who happens to like other men, and not even ALL other men, just specific ones.

i have as many issues with crazy stereotypical homosexuality based behavior as anyone else.

I don't know if I agree Foomin. From my personal experience, young gay people are just as frustrated. I am one of them. The medias portrayal of gay men especially, is just constantly the same. Society being society, seem to believe ALL gay men are like that, when it simply isn't true. Saying that, of course there are a lot of gay men which are like that, but to blanket a whole community and assume they are all the same is just silly. Gay people aren't a different race. We're humans like anyone else and we're all different in our own ways, like any straight person. The media is to blame for a lot of problems and one of the main ones is bad stereotyping. I myself am Feminine, but I couldn't say I want to be a girl. I'm NOT camp. Camp and feminine are two very different things.

I'm very open minded to any sort of personality traits. Generally, people do fall into certain stereotypes. You have the feminine guys, straight acting jocks, the camp guys, bears... God, the list goes on. There is so much diversity within the gay community, and I myself think it's awesome. I personally think that diversity is a wonderful thing, something that should be embraced rather then shunned. I think when more people come to think something similar, life will be much easier for everyone, not just the gay community. The gay community itself needs to learn to do this as well, as there's a fair amount of discrimination within itself to the different groups of stereotypes.

Stereotyping isn't always a bad thing, it's something that everyone does one way or another. It just depends to what extremity you take it too. That's when it can become a problem and disruptive, when you brand a whole community the same. Be it the gay community, black, Christian, foreign, whatever. No one whole group of people are exactly the same. I have to admit I can be hateful towards religious groups, and I’m fully aware of it. It's more because a lot of religious people have been condescending towards me. It's happened so many times, it just kind of sticks to get my guard up whenever I engage in conversation with a strongly religious person. I know, of course, that not all religious people are judgmental towards Homosexuality, and I would NEVER judge someone by their religion in a horrible way. It's more when they have a problem with me and my lifestyle, that I have a problem with theirs.

God I really rambled on there... ^^; It’s kinda late while writing this too, sorry if some things don’t make sense. :P

Ugh stereotypes do so much damage, though some of those traits (and don't get me wrong I'm a huge supporter of gay rights and that lifestyle) can be REALLY annoying. For example let's take some very famous gays: The Fab Five of Queer Eye for the Straight guy.

I love, love, love, love, LOVE Ted Allen to pieces (he does all the food stuff) and he comes across as a really normal guy. The gayest thing about him is the magic he works in the kitchen. If he wasn't on Queer Eye a lot of people probably wouldn't even GUESS he was gay.

On the other hand, I occasionally want to SMACK Carson (Clothes) and Thom (interior design) for their super-hero-gay sterotypical-ness. Jai occasionally gets on my nerves when he makes Bambi eyes at the guy they're helping.

And I can't even remember the Grooming guy's name...he sort of flies under my radar when I'm gushing over Ted.

So I guess this comes down to uhh...sympathy for Foomin and everyone wanting him to be a super-gay. They can be fun sometimes but eventually people like Carson, gay, straight, lesbian, MONKEY whatever are like grating glass on my nerves.

<3 But Tim Gunn will always be my favorite gay man in the world.

fair enough, Miho. i'm considerably older than most everyone else here, and as such, i don't interact much with teen and 20-something gay men that much. i do not really circulate in the gay community here in Dallas, more the Arts community(which is not the same thing).

my statement was based more on observation of groups/couples of obviously gay young folks while shopping or going to the grocery, and the media.

and i think it very fair to say that Dallas is an extremely superficial city, especially within the gay community. i can remember back from ten or so years ago when i WAS a strong member of the "Oak Lawn"(gay area of Dallas) neighborhood, that generally the first three questions a potential suitor would ask would be:

how much money do you make?

what sort of car do you drive?

and where do you work?

not glam or $$$ enough, you'd be talking to a turned back...i was always appalled that it was so common to dismiss someone so easily.

anyhow, you make an astute point, anyone of any age group can fall into "flaming lady" trap, and make all of us, whatever our age or sensibilities, look terrible and (i LOVE your characterization) CAMPY.

and Kuni~thanks for the sympathy, it's something i think many gay folks have learned to live with and be rankled by.

Kuni...I sympathise with how you feel over Queer Eye. Unlike foomin though I am young and look slightly effeminate...not that I really want to, its just genetics. At parties, people seem to expect me to act the stereotype and its irritating when I'm the sort of person who'd rather sit and eat quietly. Thankfully they give up when I dance (or rather, *attempt* to) and just end up thumping around clumsily; or I reveal the cuts and bruises from the martial arts, rugged hiking and other sports I'm into.

Speaking of which, if Zhang He in DW is meant to appear homosexual, does any gay or bi person here feel a little put off?

Like the rest of you guys, stereotypes really annoy me but for some reason, Greenzaku, I am not bothered by Zhang He's portrayal. Perhaps its because gay characters are fairly rare in general when it comes to video games or because even with high heels he still kicks a lot of ass. Though,I really wasn't much of a fan of him til 6 and thats when Koei really turned up the gay for him.

Anyways, this topic makes me kind of happy, for the most part its been quite positive. Most forums (that allow it) have a debate like this one and they are usually depressing. Goes to show how nice this community is.
