Isnt it time for Koei to recreate Water Margin?

Dasein Posts: 258 Group: Members Member #12,996 Joined: January 31, 2008	For the last 20 years, Koei has managed to milk out 50+ games and addons out of one of the four great classical novels of ancient China. But for the other 3, at least 2 are great base materials for games (Dream of the Red Chamber is the exception, but might make a depressing dating sim). The one particularly worthy mention is Water Margin, which is the the inspiration (but based very loosely) for Konami's Suikoden series. It is basically the tale about a rebel group made up of criminals, murders, vigilantes, con-artists, street fighters, fallen generals, revolutionaries and yes, cannibals, and their individual tales from the time they were law-abiding citizens, to anti-government rebels, to nationalist militia who repel foreign invaders and crush domestic rebels. The novel itself is less sophisticated than RoTK, but much more bloodthirsty with vivid description of death and mutilation in nearly every chapter. It is also authored, at least in part, by the same man who wrote RoTK. Anyways, I am sure it will make a great DW style game (imagine the ability to eat enemy soldiers on the battle field to replenish health), and possibly strategy and certainly RPG games. Even though Koei never mentioned any news regarding making expansion into this novel universe, they already did some work in RoTk games, with Water Margain characters appearing in them. Hopefully they will turn this idea into a full game. Water Margin Characters
