So ive heard many people say that easy is easier than normal due to low health enemies, and ive also heard people say that normal is easier due to allies having better health and being more defensive, so I just wanna hear the opinions of other players, which do you guys think is easier? Easy or Normal?

I wouldn't even dare touch ''easy''.. ugh....

Haha, yeah but from what I've heard most people use the method just to unlock everything fast. If they want it all ASAP or have a very hectic busy-scheduled lifestyle.

thanks LDZ, but on terms of being more "playing-enjoyable" if you can understand what that means due to me not being able to think of a good term to call it  would you say normal is "friendlier"? :P

I haven't exactly noticed a difference between easy and normal (other that the commander being tougher on Normal).

And i don't think there is a difference. If your allies start struggling, then it's because they either fought an enemy unit for too long, or because they were facing too many enemy units at a time.

If you just started out in the game (lvl1 chars, basic wep, no abilities,...), then it's obviously better to play it on easy. But once you start gathering things and when you get the hang of the game, do whatever you want.

Most of the time, i play the game on hard and sometimes on chaos. Just choose your difficulty according to the chars you plan on using in the battle and don't make it too frustrating for yourself.

The name's Pang Tong. I do what it takes to get the job done. Nothing more DW Strikeforce/ Pang Tong duel

Especially if you use maxed out characters the difference between the two levels is erased, or at least you are not able to spot the difference since two hit for generic and three hit for the unique officers is enough to kill in both cases. But yes, on easy the allied generals tend to die faster.

I would think that normal would be slightly friendlier due to the AI on both allies and enemies having bigger HP and both playing more defensivly, giving the player more time to get over there and dish out some punishment, where on easy allies and enemy have small HP and the AI isnt exactly smart, more like mindless attacking with no defending going on

but thats just what i think, of course :P

Easy / Normal >> Well, I would say that depend of what do you want to do ^^

If you want to clear as quick as possible the stage (for get Personnal Item for example) then Easy is a good choice to defeat quickly enemy. ^_^

If you want to get EXP (Experience), you can do in Easy or in Normal mode as you want, but if you wish to kill all the Enemy Officers, maybe it'll be a better choice to choose Normal (Allied Officers won't defeat them as quickly as they do in Easy Mode)

This is exactly right Qing Long, IMO. Your first line is a good one. :)

As others have said also, easy isn't really easier due to the enemy not blocking and having smaller HP. So it depends on your speed in completing the stages.

I wouldn't do the bolded that I've highlighted though. Especially on bigger maps like Koshi Castle where your be running back and forth frantically whilst knowing the AI have small health bars. You'll find they will last longer on the likes of hard mode. So yeah, normal would be better compared to easy.

and thats the kind of answer I was looking for, thanks LDZ :P

Since what i meant when i said which is better, I meant on an average, not when your trying to get a PI or something, more like when your just trying to play normally, you know, which difficulty would be less frustrating for that, and I apologise if that doesnt make sense since i can see it isnt the best way to explain what i mean :P

No problem.

Choose normal or above otherwise you'll find that your commander's dropping like a fly. Or when you must secure a mission etc.

I'm glad Koei never made easy very easy as it makes people have more fun and not complain about a game being too short. Hahaha! Evil of me I know, but its for the better. :)

I start with easy cause I don't have much time to play. Levelling is of course, easier. But for player enjoyment, Easy is just so not fun. It gets boring after a while with no competition.

Yes, the officers are easier to kill but the your allies also die easier, though for me that is not a normal occurrence. Usually I kill too fast for it to happen.

I agree. I like Easy as a starter difficulty for fresh characters. As I get some practice and level up, Easy becomes too easy and it's time for Normal and above.

When I get new Warrior titles, I like to jump straight into action with the normal mode. After a few battles or so until I get use to it, like when you have a few decent items, its time for hard mode.

I was a bit shocked how tough SW2XL was after I just stopped playing DW6. Though I did get bundled by Tadakatsu, Ieyasu and some generics with using Toshiie Maede at Okehazama.

Its just use to getting to a new or slightly changed combat system, thats all.

back in the day, DW2, DW3, and SW1 era i started on Easy, a.)because i was not as adept at the games, and b.) because they were more difficult. now, DW4-6, SW2 and Orochi i usually start on Normal, as it's pretty forgiving and gives you better stats and weapons drops. *shrugs* i recently went back and played DW3 with a completely leveled up character with her fifth weapon and wiped the map on chaos...i guess i've improved.

i thought that WO1 was slightly improved in difficulty factor at first, but i think that was me just getting used to the new features, as when i got it on PSP, i went straight to Normal and Hard.

bottom line: i believe that Normal is the most versatile difficulty for everyone, it allows for some challenge to returning players, yet is not just a discouraging slaughter fest for new players. i feel no shame in admitting that i generally prefer starting Warriors games on Normal and moving up to Hard, after i get the characters a bit of Attack and Defense, and 2nd or 3rd weapons. since i always start with the female characters or the underdog/weaker males, this seems to work for me.

This ^ sums it up for me. I couldn't agree more ^_^

Normal from the beginning --> Hard --> Chaos

For expansions (like SW2:XL) there's some variation since most characters are already leveled up. I went right to Expert with most SW2 characters.

Easy is for when I play co-op with people who are less experienced than me. (I won't touch the easiest setting on SW2 though -_- )

Its all about just growing fond to the franchises and basically learning from your mistakes. This is where the term ''practice makes perfect'' can be seen in light. Although except the bit about a person being literally perfect at a game, thats just impossible. :P

Seriously, all it takes is a lot of gaming and a bit (or a lot) of patience. Not forgetting knowledge and how the game mechanics work. Though thankfully the AI is not too supreme in this case.

@foomin: I reckon that most play in normal mode for the duration as I doubt they will purposely think ''got to put it on easy'' when they are itching to get started. Unless they do or die in normal mode of course.

I never bother with Easy - Normal is just tough enough for you to have to be careful and consideratly level your characters to cope. The game has a decent rise in difficulty for each story mode from 1-8 and i find they last a decent length yet remain enjoyable on Normal and then Hard setting as the case may be.

Easy though is the opposite, with reckless abandon and a will to get the game over and done with you can complete the game in under a day sticking with the story progressing battles. I play with the partner and she is no ace at computer games trust me but never on easy, she gets by fine on Normal knowing that if shes struggling all she has to do is run and hit the trigger button to change into a fresh character.

Easy is usually for newcomers and people who want to get the story over with fast(like me).I usually play on easy to get through story modes quickly and not taking time. The main reason I play on easy is to unlock characters easily, especially for characters I really like and their not playable from the start.
Kick reason to the curb and do the impossible!

IMO Normal would easily win. Easy is easy. Normal is always for the win when you use characters in level 1. I use easy just to unlock personal items.
My thoughts are pointing to such a violent world.

well ive tested all the levels finally, and in a generally normal playing game, normal is easier than easy because your allies fight better :P

Well on easy, allies have less life, and maybe could be defeated easier, but really i dont notice much of a difference. They are so closely matched. But I feel like allies fight the same in every difficulty, while enemies fight much better with each difficulty.

I only play on easy if:

1) At least one character on my team has no exp. yet.
2) I just want to get the story over with.
3) I'm trying to unlock personal items.

I got so frustrated constantly trying to unlock Keiji on easy because some of my allies either died or took too long to defeat enemies. When I decided to do the stage on normal, it only took one or two tries to get all my allies to him. So I agree that normal can be easier than easy since your allies have more health and fight better.
