She'd have to be to boss this new Meng Huo around For me, Meng Huo has always been one of those "meh, I'll use him if I have to" characters, but now I can honestly say that I would enjoy using him, perhaps equally as much as Ling Tong + sansetsu. I could never understand how the previous Meng Huo was so hard to kill in DW4 Nanman campaign (the fat bastard won't die!) but with this new look, I could see that as more realistic. I mean come on, the dude wields a massive shroom

Then again, it will be quite interesting to see how he will be in the new game, hopefully his personally hasnt been changed all that much

In DW4 and after his speed problem was negated by his "dog attack" C1, where he could just run around on all fours. His range has been short but his massive power made up for it. One of the greatest musou attacks in the series, and his design got better for every game, unlike some characters. Despite being a big fat half naked guy, or maybe because of it, he was always fun to use. Unique on a horse too. Meng Huo's design in SSM5 EMPIRES is similar yet vastly different. Unlike some of the DW6 changes where the character looks nothing like the previous gen version such as Liu Bei and Ma Chao, Meng Huo looks like how he used to....except he hit the gym. Holy cow, Meng Huo went from lardass to the buffest guy in the game. This design change is a very good thing. The weapon concepts are like an idea I once had for Xu Zhu, swinging around a tree (also in Meng Huo's case, pillar) instead of a club. I'm...Eager to play as him again.

KOEI Warriors Unifier Posts: 1,757 Group: Members Member #7,496 Joined: May 22, 2007	I really wasn't expecting the "beefcake" remake for Meng Huo. But the whole theme with the re-designs for DW6 has been a more streamlined appearance. Even Dian Wei and Xu Zhu seem smaller in proportion to their previous 5 incarnations. But he loses a bit of his charm from the other games as the lovable giant. His agility for his size made him fun to play with things like his C1, and his DW4 C5. But now even with a more buff physique, he has a bulky weapon, so I'm imagining he will be a slower attacker than the clubs. But thats based only on what I'm seeing right now. But the weapon is unique, just like the Nanman Guantlets. Hopefully his Nanman soldiers, if there are any, will get a more tribal and fierce look as well.

When it comes to realism, Koei don't really bother with it. Look at what we thought would happen to Katsuie and his axes. Many here expected him to be so slow with them.

I have forgotten about the Dog run move in DW4, that was classic!! I like his buff look, but was disappointed in the almost ape like appearance with the too short legs and elongated arms and shoulders. As for his outfit, I hate it, as I do his new over the top silly weapons. Man this guy get little to no respect from Koei...:( My favorite look for him was in DW3. The oversized loin cover/armor/cod piece is classic. I have never liked any of his weapons so far. I always wanted him with a large spiked club in one hand, and large War glove in the other. The glove would have small plates with spiked knuckles. Thus it could act as a weapon to punch with and a buckler to block. He then could use his club either one hand for sweeps or two handed for smashing.

LOL! this is the first time that i know of that i'm gonna disagree with you...the new super buff, dreadlocked, half-naked Mengy is HOT!(eye candy for the boys like me who's taste runs to the exotic). i'm not that fond of the pillar, it's a good MS and he's STILL got the dog run(errr...Gorilla run) just REALLY amped up when you give him True Speed. he's always been cool with me but he really deserved better treatment than being portrayed as a canabalistic, heathen beaten down by Zhuge Liang and Zhu Rong. just imagine the epic arguments they'll have when she's redone. i did'nt have much issue with the Beast Gauntlets, i kinda thought they were great.

Still I'd like to see him with some other weapon. The "Shroom of Doom" was just too over the top. (Funny, but over the top). Got to bring back that wife of his. They are just too funny together. You should see me and my wife together. I'm all wide thru the arms and shoulders with legs like tree trunks, and short. She is all amazon godess, very tall, blond, and very strong in her youth. Complete odd couple. While my taste do not ruin exotic like yours, I have some friends that would agree with your taste. Really funny story about that, but not fitting for this forum. See ya!

Well anyways, although his moveset is far from really good, he is really powerful and his Musou is just brutal and in MO, he has that powerful R1 smash-smash-smash attack. I like his personality, he may appear gruff, but he is a very nice guy who loves his land and people whos scared of his own wife. He seems nice, yeah. When you kill him, he say he has a wife and kids to feed and all. I had to play with him once on DW5 Empires, and he was so slow I sometimes had to use his Y to get somewhere.

Likes: good musou good personality funny moves(falling on the ground) Powerful atks weird but cool weapon kind king who loves his wife and ppl Hates: too slow kinda of a wimp (running away after being captured by Zhuge Liang) weird tattoos on body I sometimes use him in the game but rarely cause he dies quickly. I'd rate him 9/10.

I've had no problems with Meng Huo's new moveset infact i think it's one of the most dominating movesets in a Warriors game It's even useful on my Sha Moke CAW who is an absolute beast with it If there's one thing i don't like about Meng Huo it's that he has no wife or elephants to cause havoc with Edited by SJFaith, Oct 19 2009, 03:49 PM.

Plus his weapon in DW6 Empires was bad@$$! What's also iteresting about Meng Huo is that he is not a fictional character. Meng Huo was a tribal leader that tried to defeat shu. However, after 15 attempts to assualt the Shu forces which resulted in him being captured 15 different times he finally gave into Shu and became one of their officers.
