I liked this stage in both games, but I have to say that Zenkouji is annoying in SW2.

Overall, awesome stage, in BOTH games.

The music is cool and it was a lovely stage to play every now and then, especially when creating your own scenario, in this case, like being Yukimura in SW2 and getting secret dialogue. Plus in SW2XL in Yoshimoto's version, I loved it how Kanetsugu remarked about Shingen using his relations to help him out and made it seem like a threat and something bad. Haha that was good.

I think I preferred the SW1 version when looking back at them though.

Its a matter of taste.

I love Kawanakajima in both versions, awesome music, and nice setting.

Gotta love how Kanetsugu makes use of his narrative skills and Sakon showing up is awesome.

Though i would have loved to see the "Why do you scowl?" cutscene in SW2.

I liked both of them and I like the stage music very very alot. SW1 is memorized more in my head, I remember the lines about crane and wheel formations still.. *haha*

Is it just me or was SW2 stage much smaller than the SW1 ? It's been awhile since I actually played SW1 and can't remember. It might be cause SW1's Kawanakajima was one of the very first stages I ever played on SW-series that I remember it being much more big than it actually was..

I thought Kawanakajima should have been harder and Sakon should have had a bigger impact in the war..

IIRC it's really roughly the same size. I'll try and jog your memory by putting it simply. Kenshin was located in the bottom right and Shingen at the top center. When moving to Kenshin's position using Kunoichi as a scout near the bottom left, he ends up somewhere near the middle. I remember it being Yukimura's first stage and that being my first with the Samurai Warriors series. :)

Or you could just see the stage on YouTube if I'm still not refreshing your memory?

Well, both versions are good, but I prefer the SW1 version because the missions are slightly more challenging and are different for each character. That and the SW1 version is freakin' HUGE, and the "Why do you scowl" cutscene is just made of WIN. Oh, and Masamune has his own version of this stage in SW1, complete with hilarious(in my opinion anyway) dialogue. The music for this stage was good too

I love both of them. SW1 Kawanakajima: Uesugi Side was the very first Samurai Warriors stage I ever played, and I have fond memories. I prefer the night setting of SW1 to the afternoon setting of SW2. Kenshin and Shingen throwing ploys back and forth at each other in the first was great. In SW2, though, it seemed to me like Shingen had the ace up his sleeve every time, which really wasn't the case historically. "You saw my cavalry coming and vanished? No big deal. An ambush near my main camp? Feh, I've had worse." I like how in SW1 Shingen and Kenshin kept going blow for blow. The main camp-charge cutscene is fantastic, too, and the pincer attack in SW1 is vastly superior to SW2's one. I also love how in SW1 on Kenshin's side, you needed to prioritize the missions if you were playing alone.
