Anything about the game goes here. Whether its about the new characters back then or about the new stages such as Chen Cang. My favorite addition to this series was without a doubt Cao Pi. Just loved his appearance, weapon and moves. Even if the moves weren't effective enough as compared to Guan Ping or Zuo Ci. My favorite storyline would have to be Zhang Liao's. It was one of few that I actually liked every battle, especially using him at the Battle of He Fei. |

DW5 was the one that restarted it for me...I played DW3 a long time ago, so that started it. Our family friend gave us his old Xbox since he got a new one and let us barrow some games (One of which being DW5). We were like, "OMG, remember this game?!", We popped it in and fell back in love. We didn't understand the leveling system so we screwed all the characters stats up. XDD The Xbox was dumb, though...It'd freeze the game on us and hated my favorite stage...
The Wu Territory...I don't really remember how the graphics looked for the Xbox version (If anyone has any screen shots or something, can you PM them to me? Thanks :3)... |

Dynasty Warriors 5 was the second DW game that I had played. It has definitely improved dramatically from DW4, with many good changes. For one, the freedom to change direction while attacking (I was getting really annoyed with the system they had back in DW4), another was the reduced amount of "Enemy Officer Defeated." repetititveness, I was getting bored of that too. But most importantly, the soundtracks, stage looks, costumes, new characters and the graphics moved up the level with DW5. Sadly the duel system was taken out though, being one of my favourite features in DW4. |

Dynasty Warriors 5 was the 3rd game I ever, played afrer Dynasty Warriors 4 and Dynasty Warriors 4 Empires, and I really enjoy DW5, because of the new stages etc. But It was cool to me back in when DW5 was released because It all seemed new, and I am glad they bought in Pang Det too! My favorite DW5 stage is: Battle of Guan Du, because it had the best stage settling in my option, so I really suggest new players to DW series to play DW5 first, because It is a awesome game, better then DW6 in my option again, but I will always like the classic DW4, since It was my first ever DW/Koei game ever! |

Probably my favorite Dynasty Warriors game. While it's ridiculously easy to just mow down everything... that's exactly what I wanted out of the game. I wanted to mow down guys. Favorite stage is the new Fan Castle. Cao Pi is the best of the new additions and Koei would have to be fools to remove him from any successive game. Of course, this is also the game that let me appreciate Xu Zhu more because I liked his story mode and the inclusion of his battle against Zuo Ci (and let's face it, Zuo Ci really had nothing to do with anything beside Cao Cao to begin with). |

This game did have the best Fan Castle, I agree Amakusa. It was huge and full of events that really gave the stage life. The music was at a great standard also. Not forgetting Xu Huang's surprisingly late arrival. DW6's was good also, but not as close on the scale of the amount of units. |

I played Dynasty Warriors 5 as my second ever Warriors game, not long after picking up a second hand copy of Dynasty Warriors 3. I have yet to play DW6, but certainly out of all the DW's I have played I certainly enjoyed this the most of them by far. I enjoyed the narrated story lines by the characters themselves, rather then the very generic missions (DW3) and team themed ones (DW4). iirc elements started to become a big deal in DW5 as well, and there were clearly a few minor improvements along the line. I got the impression Jump Charge attacks were definitely on the improve in this as well, some of which are excellent to use (like Zhang Liao/Liu Bei etc). And, I cannot believe I'm going to agree with LDZ on something, but I really liked Zhang Liao's story the most of them too. While I don't talk about DW as much he is my fav character in it. >.> |

Weakest in the whole series as a whole imo. The game is just too easy to play and that reduces the replay value. There is a redeeming quality about Chaos mode, but even then you only really have to play defensive and you can survive even without the numerous meat bun drops. The free direction attacking finally being introduced was a great thing though. And the music was great also. Some of the new models were good, but lacking in certain characters (Pang De) Speaking of him, he was my favorite person to play out of the new characters. His story is one of the best, probably mainly due to the great VA he has. And his MS is well put together for someone with a bulky model, and heavy weapons. The musou rage I'm not real fond of, again it makes the game too easy, then you add newer items like the Demon Band and it just goes from there. Others have becocme even more useless like the Musou Armor, heck and even the Tortoise Amulet once you get used to the gameplay. I still think DW4 is the better game, but this game (5) will always be considered better because of individual musous for some reason. |

I would say its the weakest in the decision of music. The only one that stunned me was He Fei Castles. Since, IMO, its: DW2/3>>DW4>>DW6>>DW5 Yes, some character models were great, and I was so pleased that Koei decided to ditch the barbarian look for Zhao Yun and headed back to what it was in 3. And you're right about the Musou Tokens making the game incredibly easy, especially if the player just kept playing on medium, then I can imagine so with all the upgrades they were getting. |

I remember being absolutely ecstatic at its release, i had played through the games from DW3 but i had been away from them for a LONG time when i stuck it out with the Xbox and KOEI finally decided to release it on Xbox - a console which severly lacked KOEI games. It stood out more than most of the addaption because it featured EIGHT new characters, after DW4 i expected only three to honest and it was a joy to see that all characters got there own musuo modes even if some were weak in story depth to be fair. All in all the game was alround very good and i played it a LOT, it took weeks just finishing all the character stories never mind leveling them all up so with that value for money who can complain. |

I 100% agree with you in all you said. DW4 was the best in the series IMO too. There is also something else I hated in that game, the stages were VERY few. I'd prefer a game with 2 characters and 40 stages than a game with 100 characters and 20- stages <_< IMO, stages are very important in Warriors games. |

The only reason I don't consider DW5 the best game in the series is because I played DW4 first. That's it. If I hadn't, DW5 would be the best. I guess I'd consider them tied for best. The stages were really fun, and I was playing it well after it came out. In fact, I played it just last night (Guan Du, Yuan Shao's Forces - I played as Zhang He) and I had fun. It had a bunch of great characters, it had a bunch of great battles, Challenge Mode was entertaining, and it was just an all around great game. One of the things that sticks out in my mind is Xtreme Mode in DW5XL. I've had so much fun with that mode. -------------------------------- DW4 & DW5 > DW6 > DW3 > DW2 That's how I see it BTW. |

The character interaction had gotten a lot deeper in this title from 4. But that should of been expected as an incoming improvement at the time. The only stage that was slightly challenging was Wu Zhang Plains. |

Normally, I'd be mad at the fact that it's generally an easy game. But for some reason, I just don't care. Being able to kill soldiers in 2-4 hits is always entertaning for me. |

I was overjoyed when I got the game, thinking of all the characters' unique scenarios and videos I would experience... but I I have the impression that this joy lasts once your selected warriors have grown in level and when you decide to re-play their musou, each stage becomes very easy to finish, the challenge weakens. Gow describes this situation well in his comment. I don't think it was a bad game though, certainly not. I have many positive and fond impressions about the game. DW5 was most dramatic and touching regarding several characters' scenarios and narration. It also inspired me for stories I have written for DW, so I have a deep respect for this game. |

DW5, my second Warriors I played (DW4E was the first). I've got to say it's the best DW game I've played... so far (Yeah I need to play DW6)! There are some good additions to the game. Besides from the new characters and new character design for old characters (they the best, I don't like DW6 costumes), I like the free direction attacking, it's really annoying in DW4 when you can't control where you are hitting. Characters' own Musou modes, that's good too (more replayable value), new bodyguard system and Musou rage that add lots of fun into it. Only if they had camera control, that would be awesome. |

Guys, I've added to the title to let this be the place to talk about the expansions also. It would be better to have it this way than two other seperates. |

I like Empires too. It improved on some of DW4 Empires problems, one of them being the limited CAW spaces. Glad they added Free Mode so you can edit them and play any battle you want. I like Destiny Mode in DW5XL. It had a good amount of variety and lots of replayability imo. |

I've been playing Xtreme Mode a lot (With Ling Tong) lately... At first, I didn't like it because of the "No regaining health after battle" thing. My first time I used Da Qiao and died at Mission 7...Next time, I got to Mission 25 (Using a CAW with Zuo Ci's MS) and I had my tiny Kingdom and died. Next (Months later) was Ling Tong, and I kept dying at around Mission 20+ (About 3 times). ![]() Overall, despite the health thing, it was a lotta fun. |

Nope, 25 is my highest, I can't seem to beat it. XDD Most recently, my death was caused by my brothers CAW (Zhou Tai's MS). She was one of my officers, but she was captured. She had Gang Ning and 4 other officers by her side, so I didn't really have a chance because I had less than half health and all my officers had died.

I personally love destiny mode. at first its tedious (Spear JC, repeat) But it becomes fun and can be difficult at points, especially if you don't have your musou attack. But i do have one question: I'm playing under Guan Ping, and i'm trying to do the betrayal mission and leave wei. I'm on the stage where you're defending a base in the middle of a battlefield, but DIAN WEI WONT FOLLOW ME! I had thesame prblem the last time i used a chracter and wanted to leave Wei.Co Cao wouldn't go to the ambush point either! Does anyone know how to succeed in this? |

In this kind of scenario I would do what I've always done - push him in a direction by walking into him whilst guarded, or attract the peasants towards Dian Wei. Or use a horse if you can. He will eventually move when a unit comes into play. |

My only problem is that he'll go halfway, then turn around to fight another unit attacking the base. they show up everywhere, making it difficult for him to be too far to attack them. Its only a 10 minute stage, so i'd have a hard time even if he made it with a few minutes left. But thank you, now i'm going to give it a shot! |
