This stage has only appeared in Dynasty Warriors 4 before the Chang Ban and Chi Bi stages. It really praises Zhuge Liang's tactics in favor of the Shu kingdom and also how an army needs to act patient and function together. Whereas on the other hand, the main leading Wei force general is Xiahou Dun, who does what we love best and acts hot-blooded and fierce. Though at the end it does him no favors since his army crumbles, but still as I've said, its what we love in him.

Did you enjoy this stage?

I've always liked the battle because it really does set the stage (in terms of the narrative) to see that Liu Bei is really the only brother that really trusted him initially. In fact, I don't think Zhang Fei and Guan Yu ever really came around to liking him the way that Liu Bei did.

Granted, in DW6 they played it up but it's always a really neat stage to see. And it makes more sense for this to be Kongming's first stage since it shows off his abilities; rather than Chang Ban which he did ... well, fire attack!

Its certainly different from the common stage since its all about killing a few units, waiting, killing a few units, waiting... and not just bloodshed and moving forward. Its a stage that does well in showing a player the use of tactics. And even then when your army advances, there is not much to kill except those inside the castle, so its not a big battle at all.

Don't mind it
Fan based response:
I didn't really care what the Sleeping Dragon Zhuge Liang had to offer, I could just charge in with Zhao Yun and solo all the Wei novices outside and inside the castle to finish the stage.
Non-Fan based response:
This stage had a really nice map, I always liked those daytime stages.
The structure was good too, a bit of castle and small forest was the combination.
This was also one of the reasons I liked Dynasty Warriors 4, if you followed Zhuge Liang's ambushes correctly, it completely turns the battle to your side, which doesn't happen very often.
