Behold the spear of Baby Dragon! Posts: 6,807 Group: Admins Member #3,636 Joined: October 5, 2006 Gender Male	Left to right: 1st cover = WO1 2nd cover = WO2 (JP & NA) 3rd cover = WO2 (EU) Since we've just been shown the next European cover, I think its time to settle the score. So which do you think is the greatest? I've gone and voted for the 1st (Warriors Orochi 1) since it was the first of the title. Has the mighty Tadakatsu Honda versus Lu Bu clash and featuring Orochi's lurking eyes in the background. Its something that would be hard to forget, visually appealing to me, and is worth remembering. The Japanse WO2 cover is my second favorite since I'm not too fond of the European version featuring a few of the new characters (designs we've seen many times on the forum, kind of lazy of Koei...)

Posts: 4,284 Group: Members Member #7,714 Joined: June 2, 2007	Warriors Orochi 2 (European) Lucky for EU people, as they get the best game cover. It's beautiful, using many of the game characters to advertise the front cover, it's very effective. The first one was just Lu Bu VS Tadakatsu (wow...) just to grab a few attention. The Japanese/NA have the worst version, single character makes the cover somewhat plain, and I wonder what will happen if a kid saw a cover like that but wanted to play the game... About the logo... the Japanese have the best "text", the English version kinda just edited the first game's logo and added on a "2".

Posts: 4,284 Group: Members Member #7,714 Joined: June 2, 2007	Crimsondramon - Nice, when you get your hands on the WO one, update the first post so people can distinguish/compare between the game covers easier. =) On topic: Yeah, the text was what I really liked about the Japanese version, I really wanted that type of label to go on the English versions as well, something like: "The Second Arrival". Anyways, I'm glad sexy Nu Wa is on the cover, along with a few of the new faces, as it didn't totally spoil what's instead the actual game... (Himichine gun and Tenbu).

Agreed, the original cover has good text of course, but the main thing is that it establishes Orochi's return, the other just shows the characters in it which isn't bad, but it dosen't catch as much attention... background is a bit lacking...:mellow:

The clashing of ancient China and feudal Japan was the main focus of the first game, so Lu Bu and Tadakatsu Honda clashing weapons depicts that very well. I still love the artwork in the JP/US WO2 cover though. Its harder to depict the 2nd games focus since you really have to know about the first game to understand it fully. The JP/US cover leaves you thinking its all about Orochi and the EU one tries to capture a bit more, but SadXuHuang brings up a very good point from a GFX artist perspective. I never really looked at it from his point of view, but after doing so, the EU cover does need a bit more work, IMO.

Not only does it show the return of 2 long-awaited chars (Fu Xi & Nu Wa), it also shows Taigong Wang (a new face). I mean, after the first WO, people do want to see fresh faces in a game like this.

When i opened the box to the UK PS2 version i actually preferred the cover of the manual which is the Japan/NA cover. :rolleyes:

I hesited between WO & WO2 (JP) covers because I think WO illustrate better WO game ("Lu Bu VS Honda Tadakatsu" DW & SW & "Orochi's eyes in bacground" + Orochi) but WO2 (JP) cover Orochi's back artwork is more than plenty awesome ^^ So I finally vote for this one. (WO2 (EU) Cover look like to illustrate Fu Xi, Taigong Wang & N� Wa VS Da Ji & Orochi)
