I like it in every game, and it's my favorite battle in DW6. In DW3, I don't remember much about it other than the fact that I liked it. In DW4 it doesn't follow the usual route, so instead of Shu being involved, it's Wei vs. Wu. Lu Meng & Cao Ren have huge roles in it, and I liked the map. I like that battle as a 1 time thing only, and IMO future games shouldn't choose this one over the Guan Yu one we're all familiar with. In DW5, the map was amazing, and having Pang De was really cool. It's one of the better battles in DW5. In DW6, it's amazing. I can't explain it, but I just love it so much. I like when you play as the Allied Forces and you have to keep Shu out of the castle and the castle from flooding. It feels like you're doomed right up until Lu Meng & Lu Xun come. The only negative is that Pang De isn't there. So, Fan Castle = Yay or Nay?

In 3 the map is tiny and has that cutscene with Guan Yu versus Xu Huang which shows an age gap because of Xu Huang's young appearance and voice. In 4 its bigger, tough, and you have to set up the siege and also protect it (as well as babysit.) And in 5 its amazing, there's so many events and dialogue plus its one of the more challenging stages in an easy game. The music is quite well put together as well. And lastly in 6 its a lot smaller (except inside the castle grounds), but the water attack scene looks great and the battle maintains being entertaining till the very end. By the sounds of things, it looks like my view on the stage keeps getting more supportive with this level. Yet still not one of my favorites.

It's always been pretty cool to me and with the addition of Ping and Pang De in DW5 it only got better. Hopefully it will be back to being a large stage in DW7. I like that it was actually quite expansive in DW5.

I like the cutscenes of Xiahou Dun fighting against Guan Yu and Wu ambushed Guan Yu. I like playing on Wei side because Cao Ren stays in the castle only (easy to protect him). Unlike Guan Yu, he goes out from the main camp. Its music is great. I love listening to it, "a honorable warrior feel".

SURPRISE!!!! Posts: 743 Group: Members Member #15,415 Joined: May 11, 2008 Gender Male	The versions so far of Fan Castle are pretty good. I only have DW4 and DW5 versions to review. DW4 version is quite destructive to your allies. Fu Shi Ren and Mi Fang betrays and then boom you and your allies are the only remaining in the Shu Army. I was disappointed that the DW4 version has its map of Fan Castle really small. DW5 version has Cao Ren, Pang De, Yu Jin, and others outnumbered from Guan Yu. The best thing is the water attack. Then there goes Fu Shi Ren and Mi Fang again. Lu Meng sets a trap which is blocking Guan Yu's way to kill Fu Shi Ren and Mi Fang. The cutscene of Guan Yu's death was rather disappointing to me. I like the way that DW5 version was designed.
	My thoughts are pointing to such a violent world.

First Lieutenant Posts: 198 Group: Members Member #19,938 Joined: December 11, 2008	Somehow hate either in Ailled or Shu in DW6 Ailled: Must prevent them from getting in to castle. Must prevent Guan Ping to reach the river(Why Guan Ping dont just stand there and let me hit!!!!!!!!) When Guan Ping apeared,lots of Shu Soldier appeared at the same time to block me.(Curse) Hyper Guan Yu Shu: Cursing Mi Fang and Fu Shi Ren defect. The castle is enough hard to navigate while it is worse when in water!!!!!!!! Stupid reniforcements throughout the stage:Lu Xun,Sima Yi,Zhou Tai,Gan Ning,Lu Meng...... Hyper Cao Ren No matter which secenario I am on, it is still a difficult stage to finish....... Edited by EverLp, Dec 17 2008, 03:21 AM.

DW5: it is OK but why Guan Yu die so fastly and we can not do nothing for saving him. I think Si ma Yi should come for help allied. DW6: Nothing Pang De......

Mostly because of the confusing small map, and the archers from hell. DW4 was easy for the most part, but it was really hard if you follow history, especially when getting Guan Yu's 10th. DW5 was a great incarnation; great music, great events, everything was great. It was a great bridge between the rise and decline of Shu. I never played DW6, but I feel it really must be lame with no Pang De.

Posts: 3,660 Group: Members Member #4,250 Joined: November 19, 2006	DW4: This stage can be annoying especially when they keep spawning ambushes at each side. DW5: The only good thing I love about this one is the fact you can drown Pang De. The first time I did that, I couldn't stop laughing. At one point, I lost a few bodyguards from drowning as well so I find this stage to be a good way to keep me entertained. DW6: This one can be very annoying once Guan Ping floods the castle then you have swim to get around plus enemies spawn in the castle very quickly taking my bases which doesn't allow me to complete the target points. In completely honest, I never like this stage and never will except when I play DW5. That is when I will have a good time.
