Here's my current situation. Last February, I was playing Warriors Orochi 1 on my X-Box 360. I believe I was at the Sengoku Stage that had Noh in it. I was just about to beat on Kotaro Fuma, and suddenly the game crashed. I took it out, and inserted it again, however when the 360 intro comes up, it just stops, then it goes to the main menu, and says "Reading..." at the bottom, however it just stays like that. I checked my disk, and right there was a tiny little v shaped indent on the ring of the disc. I started to bawl my eyes out, and haven't touched it or had it fixed since then. Now, with the upcoming English release of Warriors Orochi 2: Rebirth of the Demon Lord, I am stuck (Yet very excited) This is where you guys all come in. Should I wait for WO2 and just buy that? Or get my WO disk fixed? Or should I do neither? I do think Warriors Orochi 2 looks cool, and if I'm not mistaken, someone informed me every single stage from the first game returns, as well as some new stages and some from the various Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors expansion packs. I do hope this is true, since my favorite stage is Honnoji of course. I've seen a few gameplay videos as well, and it looks nice. I think the special features are cool too. However I do worry about the characters. Cause, in Warriors Orochi, certain characters like Noh, Nene, and Da Qiao etc. got shafted, only appearing in one or two stages, and having no real significance whatsoever. However my other favorite characters, Okuni and Zhang Jiao, were featured prominently in the last one, appearing in a multitude of stages, also getting many special conversasions, and also appearing in the ending cutscene for the Sengoku Force. So, like, does each character feature prominently in WO2? Aside from all that, I must ask. Should I buy WO2? Or just stick with my broken WO? (Possibly getting it fixed)

If you can afford it, do both - fix the disc and get WO2. It's actually a cheap game - up here (in Canada), WO2 is only 30 dollars. However, if you're really focused on doing one or the either - I'd suggest getting WO2; because many of your favourite characters (Noh, etc.) get more screentime than the first game solely due to the Dramatic Mode stages.

I'm not clear as to why this is an 'either or' scenario, though. The best solution would be to do both.

Xbox 360 games are known for scratching and having many errors. For some reason my PS2 discs work fine with scratches, but whenever you try an Xbox 360 game they barely work. I would just buy a PS2 version of WO2 instead.

well at some game stores, you can return a game and get a new disc if your Xbox scratches it and its under warranty. you just might have to pay a small replacement fee. if the you got it from does that, you should do that then buy WO2. :)

You should try to exchange (if under warranty) or try to buy a new one. If you can't find a copy or by any reason you don't want to buy it. Then WO2 will do just fine. ;)

it's best to move to WO2 unless you only spent a week playing WO1.

I have a Xbox360 and all my games work fine. there is just a % of systems that
may have problems. but I heard xbox360 will soon allow a feature to install your game into the harddrive, so that might save people with disc loading problems.

but it's really best to move onto WO2, I don't know which characters get more
spotlight than others, but at least they are all playable, plus more new favorites on top
of that.

it may be too much trouble replacing/fixing the WO1 disk so since WO2 is later this
month, it would be wise to invest in that.

Out of the options you've provided, I strongly suggests you purchase WO2.
Going back to WO is not worth it, it has an insignificant replay value and it's repetitiveness of doing certain things over and over again will drown you.
I feel sorry for you that your WO crashed, but do enjoy WO2 rather than going back to WO.

I suggest that you buy WO2 than WO because in WO2 because there are more gameplay. :)
