Yeah, one of those characters I like all-around, he has an awesome costume with the eyepatch, a good, sociable personality and he keeps you informed about key battles usually... whats not to like about this guy... so much better then another one-eyed person... *cough* Chandos *cough*
 Another question, is he the Former Mercenary General as the diary implies that he is the Mercenary General in the story "The Mercenary General" or something like that... If so, then can a mod add the Topic Description, "The Former Mercenary General..."  |

i know what you mean...but i dont really know the answer either, i guess the 'hints' you get are really quite vague, and doesnt really give you enough to show you a definate answer, so it could be pretty much anyone. I like this guy also, he looks really awsome, and has a nice personality

I reckon he is the mercenary general. There's also that dialogue where he warns your character from being remembered only for "being strong". So I reckon he made a mistake in his life and sees the potential in you and as you two become better friends, he also starts saying... From 1 star: "Please, come back to us unharmed"/"I shall pray for your safe return" From 2 star: "Good luck!" From 3 star - 4 star: "I expect to hear great things from you"/"Give up your best"/"Tell me of your deeds upon your return" From 5 star: "I suppose I need not worry about you!" I find that awesome! |

Yes, he is the The Mercenary General in my opinion. The clues in the conversations sometimes are just so obvious it's laughable. One-time did give me a good laugh. Movies and the like these days are very predictable. Hmm... my opinion on him... I'm not so sure to be honest. Though I guess like Oblivion94 has said, whats not to like except him perhaps getting on your nerves at times? He probably speaks too much due to him being the link to moving forward and getting information about various identities. |

He doesn't get on my nerves, and I'd to know what his accent is. Is it really that silly??
 And perhaps he speaks too much. I would have loved to have more in-game characters hang out at the tavern. I like seeing what they're doing while they're interacting with your character. I get the feeling, for example, that Well-Informed Mercenary just sits in the same position every time he comes to the tavern, and that Joan of Arc is a closet alcoholic. |

i cant really put my finger on that accent either...a bad attempt at an aussie accent?
 wouldnt be the first time ive seen a bad aussie one attempted :lol:Sure, you could pin that title on him, from a few things that he says, but doesnt it say that the mercenary general ended up being quite unpopular? (havent played it in a while ) if thats true, why wouldnt the barkeep be widely unpopular, unless of course he hides his identity really really well :lol:

Not sure about the Aussie accent, I've studied in Australia quite a while, and that voice... is no way Australian... I mean... it sounds more European... but never heard any European accent like that either... And about his former identity: maybe his eyepatch makes him unrecognizable. That said, the way Well-Informed Mercenary talks about the Merc General, this was probably such a long time ago that everyone who hated the Barkeep is either dead, gone, or gotten over it. And the new generation of mercenaries such as yourself, Marc, Magnus, Karen, etc. don't know much about it. |

i guess so, but then again, he doesnt really look all that old :lol: he looks like hes probably in his late-30s, and if it was a really long time ago, he wouldve probably been like in his teens as the merc-general...i highly doubt that. I believe there are too many flaws in the theory that he is the mercenary general, i think it was just thrown in there as a means to strive for a greater purpose than just the ending of the war...well, thats my opinion
lol, you may have studied here for a while, but ive lived here my whole life, and believe me, ive heard quite a few shoddy imitation accents in american tv shows/movies/etc :lol: it was just a joke anyway |

I suppose I don't want to find out TOO much about the Barkeep. It could ruin his charm as the Tavern's owner. Does anyone know what this Tavern is called, anyway? EVERYONE hangs around here, from the top brass to the most nameless mercenaries! This is one famous Tavern! |

According to my girlfriend, who's a bit into accents in general, says it's a Spanish (Spain) accent. Thought maybe someone else could confirm that. |
