(I actually left this comment on the news feed on the front page of KW)

I really think this was interesting.

I am a huge Onimusha fan (I have all the games) and yet Capcom is re-releasing the trilogy in a single pack, just like the Devil May Cry 5th Anniversary collection (before Devil May Cry 4).

Does this mean a new Onimusha game for PS3 might be coming out? What are your takes on Capcom's move to release "all of a sudden" the original trilogy: Onimusha - Warlords in 2000; Onimusha 2 - Samurai's Destiny in 2002; and Onimusha 3 - Demon Siege in 2004. These games are over and range from being 4 to 8 years old.

Perhaps there's another coming. They did state that 3 would be the last, and well, wasn't. Dawn of Dreams came out after that.

Onimusha 3 was the best. The opening probably made everyone act gobsmacked at the time.

Oh man. Got the computer fixed, and this was the first thing I saw. I hope they make a 5, and I know some people interested in buying the older games.

Too bad I already own 1 and 2, but I don't have 3. Not worth it just for 3. I should pick up 3 and Dawn of Dreams whenever I get time and am in the mood. I hear they're both great.

I loved the whole series, I liked 2 the most and actually completed the whole story branch with my brother, this may be a hint that they will continue the Onimusha series which I hope they will... :XD

Most likley, and now I am convinced.

Onimusha is an excellent series. The trilogy was well done. If they are planning on another title, perhaps maybe a prequel or sequel, I can think of 2 paths in which they could take this.

********SPOILERS BELOW********

Prequel: I want to say something along the line of Samanosuke's travels around the world (Onimusha Warlords FMV) or how he meets Kaeda and such.

Sequel (trilogy): Samanosuke's oni gauntlet is gold in Dawn of Dreams, and removable. It is possible something of significance occurred after Onimusha 3 and before Dawn of Dreams when he changed his name to Tenkai. Maybe they could include more on how Kaeda dies and such. His gauntlet, after sealing Nobunaga, was a dark reddish black. What happened to his gauntlet?

I played all the games in the series and it's surly one of my favourite games, Onimusha 3 was easily the best in the series but the rest awesome too, DoD was really easy but good nonetheless. If these news are true then it's no doubt in my games to get list, possibly on the top. I always thought there is more room for Onimusha's story to go on, can't wait for it if it's true.

While I'd be extremely happy for a sequel, or for the movie to get finished, I'd like to add one possible scenario (which has already been discussed at length here) which is a sequel to DoD, where the Tokugawa are central to the story and Sekigahara/Osaka/Ueda is a big part of the game. Maybe we'll get to see more time traveling..imagine starting off at Sekigahara, then going to Ueda, then going to Osaka, then imagine going back to something like the Heian period, or even the Onin War..
