Male, I generally can't stand female vocals. ESPECIALLY IN BLACK METAL. |

I voted no preference, since to me it depends on the music, and how well the vocal sync with them. The majority of bands I listen are metal bands, so I listen to male vocals more, but I do enjoy certain females vocalists like Amy Lee of Evanescence, Tarja Turunen and Janis Joplin

I've voted for female, because I prefer it more than male vocals. Most of the songs I listen to are all female vocals.

It honestly depends on the song. I have a variety of songs on my Walkman MP3 that have female and male vocals. Most of the songs I have that aren't in English have female vocals, minus all the Rammstein songs. So, I don't have a preference for vocals. Sometimes female vocals annoy me, and same for male vocals. It seriously just depends on if I like the song and how the vocalist chooses to sing it. |

That's nice. No one cares...

I could care less either way. Some bands sound great with female leads, such as Within Temptation (Sharon den Adel) and Flyleaf (Lacey Mosley), and others with male leads, like Rammstein (Till Lindeman), HIM (Ville Valo), Poets of the Fall(Marko Saaresto), and the Rasmus (Lauri Ylönen). Some sound great with both, a great example being Nightwish (Anette Olzon/Tarja Turunen and Marco Hietala). So it doesn't matter whether it's a male or female. What matters to me is whether the person can convey the message in the song. |

Depends on the genre. For rock, I prefer male vocals. Along with male vocals in rock, the voice has to be... how do I say this... it has to get to me. I don't know if that makes sense, but some voices that 'get me' are Kamijo (Versailles), Ruki (the GazettE), and Gackt. As for R&B, I don't mind either but I like female vocals. |
