Well, one of my own personal not-yet-seen weapons have been fulfilled with San Zang - drapery! I'm happy they finally introduced it (I can see why it took this long to get there, but even as such - it's classic in wuxia). One anachronistic-not-weapon I would like to see is a Zen Buddhist staff (I don't believe it's been used), with the head pictured here. Another Buddhist character to contrast Magoichi, but isn't... crazy, like Kennyo or the like. |

Gracia is about as close as they got to 'no weapon' pure magic for those who wanted that. I'd like to see someone who is JUST a martial artist. So just fists/bronze knuckles like someone said. Though I'd rather say...different colored tape/cloth for wrapping their hands/feet than bronze knuckles. and because I can- TEDDY/PANDA BEAR! |

How about cooking untensils, like a wok or something like that? REPEATING CROSSBOW! It was invented 220 BC (400 years before DW) during... I think it was just before the Former Han? My history evades me momentarily... I am surprised no one has mentioned poi. I used to take fire poi lessons, and there are already a lot of moves that would be easy to implement. I just thought of maybe having a huge guy who just grabs the nearest enemy and uses them as a weapon? I'm not sure how you would implement weapon ranks on that, though... Ling Tong uses a number of kicks, but there isn't really anyone who just uses their feet. I think that would be pretty cool! A number of people have mentioned animals. A beastmaster of sorts would be interesting. For the weapon ranks they could have different collars, or maybe somethign more shamanistic and have them be spirit animals, so they are not constantly following the character. For the shamanistic one, I am picturing the 'weapon' as a necklace of charms, and the person having open hands. When they use [] a bear/tiger paw/set of claws could glow around their hands. Jumping strikes could have an eagle glow around them. Their musou could be a flurry of strikes, or maybe running with a stampede of some sort. Wow... the more I think about it, this shamanistic thing would be AWESOME! |

Yes Yue Ying does have a repeating crossbow. And I'd pretty say that Sun Jian has a chinese broadsword based on his weapon design. |

I don't have DW6:sp, and her weapon looks more like a wrist mounted crossbow. I was thinking something more like this: http://www.silverblades-suitcase.com/rhino/2007/repeating_crossbow%20001.jpg |

Funny how everyone was saying magic, magic, magic and Gracia is around but you say repeating crossbow and everyone is like YUEYING DUH! O_o Anyways I'd like to see....a Tengu. Alright so it's not a weapon, but I'd still like to see a character based off the Tengu (though Minamoto isn't too far off) or a REAL HONEST TO GOD MONK WHO FIGHT LIKE ONE. Keiji has a monk-like outfit but obviously ISN'T a monk, and Benkei IS a monk, but well...the arm is very non-traditional. I'd like to see something more traditional. |

A Tessen, IIRC, Musashi Miyamoto used it historically in one duel. It's more of a defensive weapon though, so it might suit strategists and commanders better. Most of the stuff are already mentioned though, I'd love to see Huang Gai wielding a whip as he had that historically. Pang De would have double axes (If he's to be back) and Dian Wei would have double haldberds (As he historically had). The idea of someone using pure martial arts is WIN WIN WIN, I'd definetly get a game just for that

It's quite surprising that KOEI still hasn't added a character who would use bare fists as weapon. We've seen claws, shields and even magical bracelets (and magic) but no bare fists... |

well i would like to see som every odd weapons so bare with me, ![]() well for starters, i would like to see puppets, i got this idea from hevenlysnow, and now i really want to see them introduced in the game, the character can controll the puppets with the classic stick thing that they use and the pupets can be life-sized and weild swords. and this ones os going to be difficult to explain but ill try,its all up in my head, its simply a chainsaw spear, its a long spear with a big circular blade at the end and there is this rod attached to the blade and when its pulled down than the blade spins, i don't know where i got that from but it just came to my head one day |

Actually, Musashi wields a katana and wakizashi. I would like to see a scythe and a double-tetsubo (spiked club usually attributed to the oni). I would also like to see a nunchaku with a blade and a handle instead of two handles. Maybe if they put Nakamura the Bandit into the game, he could have the weapon.
Forgot about Orochi's scythe! Yeah, my suggestions aimed more towards the SW series, not the DW series. I think that Hanzo's kusarigama is not similar enough, seeing as a o-gama (kama) has a shorter blade and handle than a scythe. Edited by BlueCaper, Mar 31 2009, 08:34 PM.

Hanzo's kama on a chain, Yue Ying's pike and Orochi are all 'sycthe like' Orochi the most, but it would be nice to see in an actual DW/SW game. Xiahou Dun's weapon in DW6, despite it's long handle, technically counts as a tetsubo--and I always felt Xiahou Yuan's weapon in 2-5 = tetsubo though they more often called it a rod. |

Well Shingen Takeda already uses a tessen in SW. And historically, Huang Gai used a weapon called an iron whip. Which is basically the club that he uses in game. @64crayons: Your idea for a chainsaw spear sounds pretty good, but it reminds me alot of Tadakatasu's weapon from Sengoku Basara. |

Da Qiao Forever: What is a bubble wand? Or snowflake blade, I think I've seen that but no examples come to mind. Han Hyuga: although they're not stored together, isn't DW6 Lieu Bei's moveset pretty much exactly the same as most "butterfly sword" moves? Avuneon: you're right, a poi would make a pretty cool weapon. I'm surprised the repeating crossbow hasn't been used, as they're so old even the Zhuge Nu (named for its chief redesigner, Zhuge Liang) should have had appearances in DW. Instead we get the ripoff arbalest. And the shaman ideas sound interesting, I know that similar ideas existed in Siberian nomad tribes since ~200 B.C. Nasser: Ishida Mitsunari already uses a Tessen, granted many of the moves aren't real. 64 Crayons: Your 'chainsword' sounds like Haseo's broadsword. Kusarigarma - somewhat like a shorter-bladed sickle with a chain on the opposite end of the handle Zhuge nu - repeating crossbow. I know Yue Ying (DW6) uses a modified bladed crossbow, but I mean something more distance-oriented, like a real crossbow Rope darts - although the Meteor Hammer is pretty similar and I think would make a more interesting weapon Manriki - throwing chain weapon, although I think one of Hattori Hanzou's charge attacks uses this. I couldn't find any images not linking to crappy online stores, but you can find this on searchalot or wikipedia. Katar - sometimes these were hidden in sheathes in the wrists, some would have a grip-action in the handle that would extend blades on the sides - people who know Voldo from Soul Calibur should have an idea what these are. As prevalent as these were in Eurasia starting with the bronze age, I'm surprised they haven't made an appearance in any of the Musou games. And a few other things, like the kopis, makhaira, sickles. |

well sorta, but its a long spaer, and at the end instead of a regular blade there is a big circular blade with serreted edges, that has a rod attached to it that when you pull it the blade spins, same basic idea though, and i would love to see that poi idea, it looks cool. and for the cooking equipement idea, someone could use pots and pans as a weapon, and add a wisk or cheese grater for fun, haha i could see it now, if you win a deadlock you grate the guys face something i see being added to the dw series would be that violin/harp like thing that diao chan was using in the dw6 intro, i have never heard of one of those but i feel it will be used in future games, |
