WO2's Fusion Items or WO1's Personal Items?; Which would you choose?

Fusion Items gets my vote. I found getting the Personal Items a chore, though still, helping the replay value of course. However with the useful abilities of what WO2 offers, I'm hoping for WO1's Personal Item system to not return. But perhaps so, if only the reward is more beneficial to the player.

Definitely the Fusion Items.

When it gets right down to it the Fusion Items unlock:
1. Special weapons abilities, one of them particularly powerful
2. A Dream Mode stage, probably one of the best ones

Now what do the personal items unlock?
1. Artwork
2. A barely noticeable boost to R1's.

Treasure collecting may be a bit of a chore at first, but Sun Wukong and stronger characters later, its pretty easy. Some PI's are really a chore.

But perhaps maybe they should have returned. Yeah, that could have been done. PI's can be in the game, but the only way to get them is to have a WO1 file, and whatever PI's were gotten in 1 can be carried over in 2.

Both have their pros and cons:

Treasures:
+ Allows players to create Special abilities for weapons
+ Unlocks characters and Dream Mode stages
- Only 30 to collect
- Can be collected with any character

Personal Items:
+ 79 to collect (each character having their own)
+ A specific character required in order to obtain PI (certainly increases the challenge)
- Just a small power increase to R1 attacks

If there had been more Treasures to collect in WO2, I would have chosen them over PIs. But since there aren't, it's a tie for me.

I prefer the Fusion Items as you can use them on any character and give you more benefits.

To me PO's were just more of a merit for perfectionists cause the effect was so unnoticeable.. And a "Glitch fixer" in some cases like Hideyoshi's R1 special that refused to work after maxing proficiency and having no item..

Fusion items bring us back a little to the DW-item system and I like that. Definetely in my opinion a better one out of the two.

The fusion items, because I had no idea what the hell the PIs did (I had read it increased the power of R1 attacks; I didn't see anything notable). I would, however, really like to see the return of personal items as something that was useful - I liked having character specific items return. But perhaps they could actually do something....

Like... if you get Yue Ying's PI, every time you go to battle from that point on - a number of Juggernauts will accompany you.

Or if you get Magoichi's... every time you activate a charge attack, it activates that skill from SW (where bullets would fire when you entered the special stance).

Something tangible.

Fusion items? couldnt think of the word Treasures when making the topic, LDZ? ;)

Anyways, I deffinitly prefer the Treasures. They are relatively simple to get and there are not as much of them. And they are assigned to levels, not characters.

PIs were very much a chore and I only got about 4 or 5 of them in the first game. They were just a pain and not worth getting, I felt.

I'd say the fusion items. They upgrade your weapon more and makes the weapon stronger. I gotta say that to me the Personal Items are kind of useless. I don't know what happens next. For the treasures Almighty and Highflier are one of the good upgrade skills.
My thoughts are pointing to such a violent world.

Just thought to use the word fusion since it is what it is. Treasure can't be used unless made into the item. Plus Zhuge Liang's Silk Purse and other PI used the box as well, so I thought to seperate the two somehow...

I like the treasures way better than the PIs. They allow you to add cool enchantments to your weapons (best used on 4ths), there's less to collect than PI, and characters and Dream Mode stages come from collecting them. The personal items annoyed me, because Lu Bu's is a pain to collect >_>

Pretty much in agreement with LoW and T.e.n here ...

I think if the Personal Items had more of a noticable effect on each character, then it would be much better.

I liked the character-specific aspect of PIs, since the Treasures/Fusion Items were too easy to get them all and you only needed to use 1 character to get all 30. Even getting the right weapon ingredients can be done with 1 character.

However, the Treasures/Fusion Items do a lot more for you in WO2 because of the various skills you can add (once you have the right weapon ingredients, of course ;) )

Now its just a matter of grinding for weapons and Proficiency. This is where the character-specific requirements of PIs would help to break the monotony of grinding for things :/

So for me, its really a tie. In the end though, if I had to choose one (which I don't after looking at the Poll choices again :P ), having something worthwhile to show for your hard work is what makes the difference. Treasures/Fusion Items gets my vote ^_^

On my own it seems but personal items for me - they didnt overpower the character too much like fusion one do in my opinion.

I also liked the unique unlock conditions for all the characters as it added a LOT of replay value where as with the treasures theres only about a quarter the number to collect and at a mere fraction of the challenge overall...this saddened me if im honest, i was hoping for more of a challenge to add more replay to the game as we must not forget we dont have any unlock requirements for the 4th weapons either so we have been reduced to merely level grinding for practically everything in the game :(

I voted both, treasures make killing fun as heck(WOOHOO!) an PI's were fun to get and sometimes were cool, though for the most part they needed to be stronger.

Fusion Items for me too, since they actually do something worthwhile (and aren't an excuse to stop certain characters' R1's from working like the Personal Items were).

The only thing I'd wish for is that they weren't so easy to obtain...I've got many of them so far, without even realising I'd fulfilled the conditions. :/

Yeah, they do have easy conditions to fulfill. However, it allows you to get them more quickly, saving you lots of time to do other things.

I voted for Fusion Items. Some of them are really useful (Stability, Resolve) and fun to use like Highflier, Teamwork, Verity and maybe Almighty (if it wasn't too broken). IMO, PIs were kinda useless in the WO.

The PIs supposedly enhanced character special attacks, but I could see no difference. They were just there to unlock the fourth gallery pics in WO.

Fusion Items allow you to add on beneficial abilities into weapons, at least.

I didn't really notice the PI effects for the attacks. But with Fusion Items, well depending on the ability, you can actually see the change.
