Early ROTK games.

Officer Posts: 97 Group: Members Member #19,136 Joined: October 18, 2008 Gender Male	Anyone still play these earlier ones ? I like to still play ROTK VI (PS1) for example. I only tried one of the newer ROTK's in a game shop, I have no idea what it was but I was disappointed you only controlled one officer on it rather than a whole faction.. Thus I have kinda been afraid if all of the newer ones are like that x.x I also actually played here awhile ago ROTK on NES. Oh gosh that took me back, I didn't even remember how "painful" the musics were and how confuzzling the whole game was XD Sorry if this kind of thread already exists, tried to check and didn't find any. Emperor's Retainer Posts: 1,631 Group: Members Member #9,775 Joined: September 18, 2007	I can say Rotk 4 is as far as I go in the early games. PSone it was if I remember right. Anyway, the battles were decent enough to keep you going for a while, but the duels are the best ever in the series! Until Rotk 9 of course... Sergeant Posts: 25 Group: Members Member #21,684 Joined: April 15, 2009	yep - always go back to earlier versions from time to time..coz each version has its own advantage....such as: 5: you can watch the interesting combat process... 6: cool combat stills 7: summon mystical beasts 11: how ma chao being a butcher and kill most of the generals everytime he does a charge (LV3)

Sergeant Posts: 21 Group: Members Member #22,628 Joined: July 1, 2009 Gender Male	I loved IV It was pretty fun, but not too much, by 197 I finished the Wu prophecy and took both the jing territory and lands of wu. BUT I LOVE THE DUELS I remember one duel it was some dude v.s my zhou fang...zhou fang had like 10 less power.. and i thought i was gunna die then suddenly zhou fang: ha! take THIS! (throws a powerful attack) and he injured the opponent down...but the opponent was still a bit stronger than him...THEN.. zhou fang : I will not lose this battle! He immediately starts throwing a bunch of moves at my opponent and kills him fast. its just too awesome..

IT IS TIME TO CUT DONG ZHOU,S HEAD and DRINK IT,S BLOOD Posts: 499 Group: Members Member #8,768 Joined: July 25, 2007	I have played both IV and VI for a short time at my uncle's house .He lost both of them somewhere and I have ordered them both to play em on the PS3 .I think there will be sometime before a new English Nobunaga or ROTK game to be released . However , as far as I have heard , many people do think that IV is still the queen of the series I'll have to check it out

Wouldn't go more far back then 4 if you truly do not just wanna be nostalgic. As I said, damn, the musics are painful rofl Also on 6, be afraid of the tribes, be very very afraid. Especially on PC version ! They have superior troop types to you, and more of them. Luckily they love having horsemen on mountains at the north so... haha

For II I had my system when starting out with a new ruler: Step 1: Steal Lu Bu with a horse or 100 golds Step 2: ??? Step 3: Take over china. 8D As much of a Wu fan as I am now, back when I first played these games I couldn't stand 'the red guys' cause they'd always attack me if I got too close to them. What jerks! I want to try some of the earlier PS2 titles but they are difficult to find now.

The Music in II wasn't TOO horrible, had a few decent tracks in it. RTKIII's gameplay was a breakthrough, though. A+ for an old system.

General Posts: 332 Group: Members Member #15,022 Joined: April 25, 2008 Gender Male	i have the rom for romance 2 and 3 and 4. so i play sometimes on the computer when i have had enough of MOZ, or DW6E. as you can see all i really play now are Koei Games,, i used to be a real rpg nut and still am but i just can't find the time to stop koei gaming!!! i'm adicted to koei, i think i have to go to rehab....
