ok, this battle is the first really major battle for Bladestorm, and its quite a big battle, and well, it sorta shows you which side you might ultimately fight for in the end. Ive mainly one this for the French, and i find that the open battlefield to be quite fun...but annoying how there is a lot more archers than usual

French side is more fun to play for since you get Knights... lots of Knights. English side is easier to win with because they can snipe hardcore. |

First post for the forums! I love fighting as the French for this battle. It's the first time the "King of France" track is played, and it definitely fits the mood of the battle and the motivations of the French. |

I wouldn't say it's easier to win as English, the French are always spawning waves and waves of cavalry and when I play the English side they always seem to stop spawning archers after the first day. That and the fact that the pikemen book isn't available until 2 star fame (after this battle) means that you've got really few good options to counter the French. As far as a _big_ battle, they definitely have a wide field here but I think the later battle of Poitiers is a lot more complex (and fun, for both sides). Less aggravating than the battle of Orleans, to be sure. |

I think the difficulty of the level itself it somewhat reflective of what it wouldve been like at the actualy battle. With the Frech using using the more classic technical manouvers, that being just charge at the enemy with all your cavalry, and the English taking a chance on the archers to win it for them. The English didnt really have much else going for them, in BLADESTORM, they seem to have the high ground...or have I got that mixed around...which one was the northern force? cause they were the ones with the high ground. Anyway, im pretty sure that the difficulty that you face when on the English is quite similar to what they wouldve been facing at the time

Historically the English won Crecy because of the archers and I tried to go along with history for my first game, though I would not say it is easier to play with the English. As you near the end though the battle gets easier as the English royal knights are unleashed to pick up the scraps as you claim the last base. |
