Mercenary General Posts: 3,603 Group: Moderators Member #5,908 Joined: March 5, 2007 Gender Male	ok, today at 3 the race starts, and its fun, because this one day, people think they know stuff about horse racing, and spend a heap of money on what is just a guess I would think that some of the more passionate horse racing fans from overseas might know of this race....do you? i dont really know much about it though, just that its the biggest race in australia, and that we all put all our money on a hope does anyone else have any tips for the betting this year, i dont really know much about horses, so what i read it what i have to take, so ive told mum i wanna bet on Cest le geurre

Well actually I guess we do stop for it, we all stop and have lunch (the race is at 2PM QLD time) together with a sweep - paid by the boss. Better then nothing, but I used to live in Victoria so I loved this day, getting a public holiday and all, but everywhere not in any other state. My tip for the cup however is Profound Beauty, I got $10 on it ($5 each way), GO YOU GOOD THING!

Mercenary General Posts: 3,603 Group: Moderators Member #5,908 Joined: March 5, 2007 Gender Male	we had a pretty good haul, my mum put some bets on a few horses, i chose one, my brother chose one, and we grabbed a handful of sweeps, in the sweeps, $22, with 2 4s, that being Cest le guerre. with the actual betting we got around $380, my mum put $10 on the horses that managed to come 1st 2nd and 3rd and there was also my bet for the horse that came 3rd, Cest le Guerre, lol, so much for my brothers tip so i got a bit of money, but there was one guy at the club, he walked away with 19 grand in his pocket

We had a sweet at work as well, where I had the Master O' Reilly, which came 4th. Both close, but not close enough. >.> Not one of the main favorites even made the top three either!

D: maybe it's just because racing bores me. However, the Newcastle "CBD" cough was actually alive, so that was nice.

Oh wait, that;s the ladies as well. Yeah it ain;t much of a sport where you rely on people betting on you for your profits, instead of watching it for the excitement.
