Lol... Now for the topic: Does somebody's mood not fit your own? Complain about it here then... I only have a problem with Yoshimoto's, I mean he was a pretty powerful figure (until Okehazama lol) He should act like a powerful person, he needs to be more serious (why so?)

D'aw, and I love Yoshimoto. I know it's wrong of me to like such a useless character so, but I can't bring myself to hate him. It'd be like hating on the mentally challenged kid in the corner... But I think this would be more suited for Specific Character discussion, perhaps? I'd love to talk about it there. I'd say I can't stand the 'BEST FWIENDS FOREVUUUUU' mentality that Gracia had. Get rid of that rubbish and I'd reckon I'd like her more. Thoughts for improvement? Focus more on her curious nature and perhaps more interaction with her father. Kanetsugu's LOVE AND HONOR WILL CONQUER ALL dribble turns me off of a character that I recently realizes I enjoy playing as (I love the moveset... at least in WO2). Improvement? Meh... make him less gung-ho about LOVE AND HONOR? Granted I do love the rivalry between him and Masamune, but he's just unbearable to me. Must be my western mindset that can't get into him. |

Ugh, Oichi...while i LOVED her in SW, her SW2 incarnation was annoying, with her constant "fate" speeches(and a Story which makes NO SENSE at all!)... i swear i much prefer Kanetsugu's speech(maybe cause im a Kanetsugu fan...). I want her SW1 personality back...it was much better...except for the loli part at least. |

I understand where you're coming from. While I'm partially glad that she grew up some, I preferred her selfish nature in the first game. Why? Because she was determined to have her love and her brother get along, so that neither one had to die. I miss that determination. In the second game, she just shrugged and said 'screw my brother, I hope he dies! But if you tell me to go, then I will go.' Yeah, way to lose your backbone, you stupid <cencored>. Keep her design and mature personality in the second, but bring back her determination, man! Oh, and keep the Hideyoshi/Oichi shippings in SW1. It's already bad enough she has two husbands as it is. |

Oichi got the short stick when all the characters drew straws for Samurai Warriors 2. Now she is all "Oh, fate and death, I am caught in both. I am depressed. *Cuts wrists* I am destined to die. Nagamasa I love you. Noh I hate you." Noh went from "Do I kill my husband? Or myself." to "Ah am just gonna stay back in this here corner behind mah husband." Ugh, total personality change. Alisha Ruiss however saved her. Her chilling and sexy voice brought depth to Nouhime. Ina went from "Ms Independant, ooh pretty second costume" to "MY FATHER! I LOVE MY FATHER! IMA MAKE U PROUD DADDY! YOU WILL NOT STAND IN THE WAY OF MY FATHER! DIE FOR MY FATHER! Y hallo thar Ginchiyo, have u met mah fathar? NOOO FADAR!" Okuni went from "Do you leik my dancin, will you plz bear my children?" to "Do you leik my dancin, will you plz bear my children?" Edited by Mei Ling, Nov 4 2008, 04:33 PM.

Ginchiyo went from "BY THE POWER OF TACHIBANA!!!!" to "Hey Zhu Rong....you want i can make lesbo sex with u?" She is now Zhu Rong's lover. Both make their home in the jungles of Kyushu and Nanman. Nene went from "I have a kinky spanking fetish. Call me momma. Comeon you want me to be your momma! OH YEAH! SAY IT! Ohhhh OHHHHH! *spank* *spank*" to "Im gonna form dis here ninja army and now I gots to healp that warrior parody in yellow and dat **** in heat." Kunoichi went from hyperactive ninja to 10 pounds more hyperactive ninja with one of the best attacks. WEEE! |

This post made me LOL (or it would have if I wasn't in the school library). Spot-on about Ina. It's a shame she lost the "HAHAHA I'M GOING TO MASSACRE EVERYONE WHEEEEEE" angle to her character, probably because Kunoichi was removed. Another character they severely nerfed was Hanzo. Granted, he wasn't that full of personality in SW1, but at least he was cool. Now he's just all "Death" "For my master!" "Masteeeeeeer" etc. Less of that cool shadow/light analogy. Hell, he doesn't even DO anything important in the game anymore... And I'm glad Okuni got a voice change. All those bloody p-shaws...WHO ACTUALLY SAYS P-SHAW?!?! |

I love how people seem insistent on not having any characters with actual negative, DIFFERENT personalities from the rest. Most people don't actually seem to get Oichi and Nagamasa well in SW2, just writing them off as sappy lovers and emo. I also love how people only focus on certain characters' personas displayed only in non-canon Dream/Gaiden stages too. How much did Ina actually talk about her dad in her actual story mode? Hell, she didn't even talk to him in any FMVs like she did half the time in SW1XL. Nevermind that EVERYONE and their mom was going on about Tadakatsu's awesome, so why does Ina get singled out? Why aren't we trashing Hideyoshi, Shingen, Yoshihiro, Ginchiyo, Ieyasu, and so on...? Amusingly Ina barely mentioned her dad in her own Gaiden stage. |

KOEI.... do NOT change the anarchistic personality of Kotaro. Leave him the way he is. It allows players to see into his mind, to see all the damage he's willing to cause just to create chaos. I honestly hated Yoshihiro's "Things weren't like this when I was young!" attitude. But I did get kicks from his "Youth never dies!" philosophy. |

You know, I think the only time I can remember her going on and on about Tadakatsu is when she is struggling as your ally and she repeats her "struggling quote" "No! I must not disappoint my father" Those quotes are so generic and really don't add to the story, nor define a character's personality in the story. Granted, it has been awhile since I played SW2

In regards to Ina, she did seem a bit weaker in SW2 than she did in SWXL (in regards to story and personality), but also take into consideration that in that game, there were really only 4 new stories, so there could be more thought and consideration in that game than in SW2, where there are plenty of new stories that Koei focused more on. I think the weakest part of her story was just that lack of psychological level that the first game was on, and if Kunoichi's absence was felt, this was the moment for me. Ina seemed like a conflicted woman in the first game she was in, which made great for a story, where as in SW2, the conflict is still there, but not as powerful as it was in XL. If they brought more of that angst out, she'd be the hella-awesome Inahime that I loved. Would I say she's completely obsessed with living up to her father in SW2? Nah, not really... but then again, I didn't like her story in SW2 until her Dream Stage anyway, so yeah. She's still more complex than Okuni or even Nouhime now, though. |

Well, I personally think that Ina should get her personality changed for SW3, 'cause she sounds like she has some serious Daddy Issues in SW2. I couldn't take her seriously at all, as opposed to SWXL when she's "kicking ass and taking names". KOEI should bring that back. Kotaro's anarchism seems kind of wooden and one-dimensional. There's just not enough nihilism in his personality, which should be a cross between "Mankind" and Joker. Tadakatsu's repetition of the word "might" is really grating on me. He barely even mentioned the word "Might" in SWXL but now he's going on and on about it like a leaking tap. Mindless repetition of phrase=bad, |

A couple characters people have already mentioned, but... I, like some people, hate Oichi in SW2 as opposed to SW1. Sure you can let fate take you so far, but for her to just leave without even a decent fight besides "you know Nagamasa you don't have to die..." and try to protect the people that she loves makes absoloutely no sense to me. I think they just tried to make her into a tragic herione and it turned out completely the wrong way, granted the last cutscene was sad but still... Meh, Kanetsugu's personality I can stand, mainly becuase I see something else besides his whole "LOVE AND HONOR" speeches but they seriously need to make him a better story, tis all. Besides Noh's obvious personality change (which I weep for), I also seriously want the SW1 Mitsuhide back. His SW2 personality of "I'm in love with Nobunaga" doesn't quite cut it for me. I mean, you can be devoted to your lord yes, and it made for an interesting story of how he was blinded by this devotion, but please, almost everything he says relates to the guy. ~Brizz Edited by Brizz, Nov 6 2008, 12:43 AM.

I'm going to make an attempt to get back on topic. If possible that is. XD I'd like for Ieyasu to stop abusing the word 'Endure'. I need to replay SW2, because maybe it's just the WO series that he hits the damn repeat button on that word (like Tadakatsu and MIGHT, and Masamune and IMBECILE... I love Masamune, but even I would like for him to come up with different insults, which he has done every so often.). "I must endure the unendurable!" ... If it's unendurable then you can't endure it. Idiot. |
