Well, based from DW6, I'm thinking that SW3 will have at least a few cut characters. Who, and why? |

nah. i don't think they'll cut on SW. characters are not as stale as with DW, but i'm hoping they only add 4-6 and REALLY focus on the character development and Stories. the lack of those things make me like SW2 less than i might've otherwise. |

Well I personally think Okuni, and Imagawa will be cut, because first of all Okuni didn't even get a storyline in SW2. And for Imagawa, they'd have to go before Okehazama. |

Not saying I want there to be cuts, but just for the sake of discussion. -Okuni will be cut. Then brought back for a story mode in SW3XL. She really doesn't do much but provide more eyecandy in the series, but her fanbase would whine obsessively until Koei cracked and allow her to return. I'd miss her if she did get cut, but honestly, I didn't bother unlocking her in SW2 anyway. Ranmaru too. Sorry. -Gracia, unless they do a complete overhaul of her story mode. Seriously, the whole 'best friends forever' BS w/ Mago was just mindnumbingly terrible. Give her a real story, focusing more on her curious nature. -Yoshimoto. This time, for real. I'd be sad, but I think the majority of players wouldn't even notice if he disappeared. Or cared. -Stage-wise? Uh... no idea. |

I agree with foomin again.  What's the point of cutting characters, there are less characters than in DW before AND AFTER the cuts. I don't really care how many characters are added, just give each character a story mode (poor Ranmaru and Okuni) and good stories at that. Having a smaller cast is their opportunity to make better stories and personally, I think they were from from that in SW2.

If Okuni has interactions with all the characters in Free Mode in SW2, I won't mind. Same for Ranmaru. If they give characters without Story Mode's a couple of Free Mode Stages where they have some interaction in it (Ranmaru had 5-6 stages), then it won't matter.
Yes. Hopefully, they can think of a variety of stages for each character, so they don't have to rely on fictional clone stages. |

Well Ranmaru was. Just because he didn't have a Story Mode, you think he isn't important? He was in plenty of battles as well. |

I wouldn't mind if they cut some story modes, but I rather not see any cut characters. If they were going to cut anyone, my predictions would be Okuni, Kojiro, Gracia, and Yoshimoto. They're all too SW1 style. If they continue to make SW more like DW (boo) and focusing on factions rather than individuals I don't see these guys staying in. If they are going to turn charcters to free mode only, I hope they at least give them the Okuni/Ranmaru treatment and at least give them special dialouge and missions in certain stages. |

If they cut Kojiro Sasaki, then they'll have to cut Musashi too. Anyway, I say they will cut no one. I think they'll all stay. |

I think that Okuni and Ranmaru will end up being cut, I mean, Ranmaru was only in one battle and Okuni wandered around dancing. Gracia might end up being cut as well unless they put her faith and her marriage to Tadaoki in more focus As for stages, Village Rescue and Pirate Hunt and maybe even Tournament of Champions(unless there are some actual unique stages) |

that is true, he was in quite a number of battles, definatly more than one. If anyone is cut, Okuni will likely be amongst those cut. Gracia and Yoshimoto are also fairly likely, unless they change quite a lot of there stories. Kojiro, and in turn Musashi, are possible choices to be cut, due to relevance to the chosen time period, but I seriously hope they do not do that. Stages, as with the common ones, I hope they lose Pirate Hunt and Village Rescue. Though I did love Keiji's quotes in Pirate Hunt

Id rather they add a couple of characters than cut them as there are some great ones yet to feature as long as there not obscure ones again like Musashi...they should concentrate on the retainers of Ieyasu Tokugowa. Im hoping also to see more character development this time round, everyone is in agreement i think that it was a frustrating feature to have Ranmaru and Okuni in the game as Free mode only characters, at the end of the day theyve already cut the character roster with Goemon and Kunoichi so id say there was no need to trim down anymore...its only my opinion but there arent any characters id say really stand out as being out of place so far. |

Yeah, I hope they concentrate on the Tokugawa retainers, I'd be fine if they take out a few characters, just bring em back in the future

OBJECTION! It didn't really bother me. I don't care for Ranmaru and if Okuni had a Story Mode, she wouln't have had those hilarious dialogue with all the characters. |

I just friggin hope they DO NOT cut out Ranmaru again >.< I havent played SW1 (Never got the chance to) and I wanna see him in storymode >_> I just hope koei doesnt give him a corny ending thats all. Oh and they give Gracia her ACTUAL story, her storymode made meh sick >_< |

I don't think Yoshimoto need be cut, if they decide to add some more early battles into the game. He has the Hojo has a major early battle as well, which could support a Hojo as a playable character. Ranmaru has the problem of not really being around long enough in history to have done a lot, and is only known as being Nobunaga's attendent. |

I say just cut all the SW2 characters as playables (yes even my favvy yoshihiro) and just let their place be taken by the new ones, keep the SW2 characters appearing in the game though, simply as special opponents in certain stages. |

We hope anyways. I wouldn't be surprised if Okuni fully this time, and Gracia would just be on the razor's edge, depending on how Koei decide to make the game. |
