Since its finally been confirmed, the Gyan! I was pretty surprised they had M'quve pilot a Gouf in the first game, its nice that they are actually putting his mobile suit in this time.

Its weaponry should make for a fun moveset. With its saber and awesome shield. I'm looking forward to seeing how it fights.

Yay! The gyan should be good. I just hope its sword has the chivarly action which is rapid stabbing/slashing.

Also This machine moveset should be unique thru all of it

Well it kinda sucks that this suit was treated as a grunt in DW Gundam 2. It should have at least been a mid level suit like Turn X and Gottrlatan. Oh well. Has anybody tried it out yet? Does it share a moveset with any other grunts or is it at least unique?

After having played the Gyan, does anyone else feel that we've been entirely too unfair with it? On its own it isn't much, but once you get High Tension, its Overdrive SP is so good compared to its peers that I almost didn't believe it. In my experience, the initial volley does lots of damage to a single ace if aimed right and the following sweep of missiles is also way more effective against groups than I ever expected.

the only problem with the SP attack is the rockets travels at a parabolic arc,so if you try to shoot from far away it will miss the ones in front of you,the fact that pallace athene can do the same thing without SP,and can be loaded with sniper and charge drives makes gyan even more....shafted? they should give it epyon's SP instead IMO..it's more "in character"

the SP is also less useful in PS2 since the enemies rarely gather in mega sized packs unless its an extra mission with high levels

if you guys have the time, try this game

i can't find a gyan vid but its in the game and its AWESOME>.<

EX Revue! Been meaning to try that game since forever.

Well, in the Gyan's defense, the Palace Athene (man, that really should be Pallas Athene) is a Class 2 whereas the Gyan is a Class 3. That's what I meant when I was referring to the Gyan's "peers"; and there certainly are some horrible Class 3 SP attacks out there. Meanwhile, the Gyan's Overdrive SP is good enough that I'd put it on par with some Class 2's SPs.

On the other hand, you're absolutely right; given how fewer enemies show up on the PS2, I can see how you might feel the Overdrive SP isn't worth anything against groups. However, how is the initial volley against aces? If you combine it with Instant Hero, it should be pretty powerful when you get all those rapid-fire missiles to land...

If anything, the Gyan needs to become a Class 1 suit. Give it an improved version of the missile spread as an Air SP, and a stabbity-stab-stab super for its Ground SP. I can only imagine the wild things they could do for its Charge Attacks and Combination SP.

i play EX revue whenever i had the urge for some gyan action, zeong is hard to play though, the battle assault version is easier, also:the game has gaia&his dom,jet stream attack!

as for its SP vs aces....i find its hard to nail all rockets on an ace, especially little ones like god gundam and V2,bulky dudes like the O and the MA's are easy pickings though....,and instant hero is a MUST for all class 3 it goes without saying....

i can't agree more of gyan becoming a class 1,that's what i always thought when i first saw the famitsu scan about gyan.......

Fair enough. I admit I've been landing the volley on medium and large-sized mechs, so I'll try landing it on smaller mechs later.

When I play M'Quve I plan to use the Gyan a lot so I'm glad to hear it isn't complete crap. I too expected it to be a class 1 along with Turn X and Gottrlatan but sadly they all got crapped on. At least they are included anyways.

Hopefully in the next game they will get an upgrade.

While I'm willing to say it isn't crap, and even say that it's nowhere close to Bottom Tier, I will say it needs work to get to a usable level. Get Instant Hero and High Tension with M'Quve ASAP if you want to get anywhere with the Gyan.

My opinion for Gyan is that it doesn't really have any charge attacks which is why I often don't like using class 3 that don't have charge attacks. They may hack around for a long portion of the battle but it gets sorta boring without it... your combos won't be as high either so can't really utilize some other nifty skills.

The suit is alright though but you pretty much got to be a melee attack lover to want to use it. Same goes for any other suit that has no charge attacks...
And you've brought up the SP attack situation... yeah pretty much the other factor is getting it to become more of an sp user with some attachments and skills too.

Not really my cup of tea with this kind of gameplay design. I still like doing my combos and do some fancy air sp attacks afterwards.. if I recall correctly i don't think the class 3's can do an Air sp... like Gyan. Another reason why i don't like them as much as other suits that are able to do so or able to do charge attacks.

Forgot to state the other advantages of class 3 suits... i guess skill learning sometimes they got better percentage rate with skill learning... and i think they also have some skills which can be only learned by using a class 3 suit.

all grunt only, all pain in the *beep* to get, thank god instant hero and small giant is in GUNCANNON(fun&strong MS,excellent choice in gundam fight),so yeah,no class3 exclusive, and don't forget class2 cannot do air SP too.

On the other hand, I really could not recommend Guncannon to newbies with a straight face. I'd rather just go Byalant > JR's Gelgoog if you wanted to get both skills naturally.

And yeah, of course Gyan suffers from the same problems as other Class 3 suits that aren't named Gouf. I'm just saying that, once you do get your setup up and running, the Gyan's way better than stuff like, say, the Z'gok. *cringe*

well,i was suggesting on using guncannon to farm the instant hero and small giant skills at the gundam fight missions, which guncannon will easily finish in one combo>SP attack, which is very easy to do since you are facing only one opponent

i wont suggest guncannon for random missions or 1000 MS shotdowns though, unless you're a fan, since it lacks crowd clearing

That actually is a good idea. Do certain missions where you have a lot of enemies and, as long as your faction queue isn't filled up, you could unlock the Gundam Fight missions easily. Though getting skills can be a pain sometimes, even if Gundam Fight is really brief.

I was really happy when i unlocked it : D coz' M'Quve MS had a very "european" style for fight in the original anime, kinda fencing and using the sword like a "foil".

But in the game is just a brute robot without the style. I know that is just a prototype MS and a class 3 in the game, but definetly didn't use the sword like a heat hawk, coz' that it seems in the game.

PD: Sorry my english.

Gyan needs to be a Class 2 simply because it is awesomeness, and M'Quve deserves better. C'mon, crap like ZGok is class 2, even though is appantly has bad stats and moves, so why should the awesome Gyan be gyped in moves even though it has better stats?
Death should be painless, shouldn't it!?

its still awesome, just like gouf,so get over with it and start liking it,there's still a hope for the next game thus just enjoy the current one to the fullest

note that compared to other grunt like gaza and geara doga the gyan still have one thing that class 3 rarely have:a non clone SP attack, usually most class3 SP attack is "fire 3~4 times with beam rifle/bazooka",be grateful gyan still gets a cool SP attack(but i admit i like a fencing SP more than its current one)
