Erm.... I'm posting my progresses here not to show off...
but rather to give others who might wish to attempt similar parts/characters,
a better idea
on how its done

Sometimes we get stuck @ how to do certain parts of our costumes...
or when we are still new to something quite advanced like KOEI game characters..
Looking at how others did their stuff might just channel some inspiration on your own personal cosplay projects  e.g Materials usage, methods...etc.

You might just come up with EVEN BETTER IDEAS!~
*Feel free to poke me up to give me better suggestions on how to get a particular something done!*
Your suggestions/criticisms are DEEPLY APPRECIATED!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

:.Sengoku Musou 2:

*.:NOUHIME Parts/Props Construction Processes:.*
One of the biggest challenges on this cosplay is the COLOR SCHEME/GRADIENTS of the costume. Although this is THE MOST IMPORTANT component...much of the color scheme can only be determined by your discretion. I can only suggest color schemes, but its entirely up to variable factors e.g different brands of sprays, and you.... ultimately.

PLATFORM GETA SHOE
Posted Image
COMPRESSED FOAM (from Art Friend in Singapore - $20 for a HUGE piece) was a good choice for props-making and filling in holes/gaps.

Here I used them to fill the gap between my geta shoes I bought a long time ago from Tokyo.
Posted Image
I secured it to the geta shoe using HOTGLUE GUN.
After securing this gap-filler, I used Block-like WOODEN PENCIL HOLDERS (from Spotlight in Singapore - $7 each) to form the base.
Posted Image

Posted Image
HOTGLUE GUNned it together - But this method won't really last.
The duration of the shoes would prolly be around 3.5hrs before it comes off.
Posted Image
Next option is drilling a hole through it all, and securing it down with a nail/screw *which I will be doing soon*

The last thing to do would be to get "MAHOGANY" PATTERNED VINYL STICKERS
($10-14/m from Spotlight) and stick it all around... ;P
*yea cheat! I know*
Posted Image

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

BUTTERFLY HEADDRESS
Posted Image
Got a lil' Tiara as the base (recycling it lolx...so i wrapped it up in tape).
You can alternatively get something like that with hairclip sliding horizontally unto the crown of your head.
Posted Image
Cut out the shape of the Butterfly to portion unto a PP BOARD (from DAISO in Singapore - $2 for a big piece (softer ones) ).
Use a HEAT GUN (from Homefix or any DIY stores) to bend it to shape...
Use a HOTGLUE GUN to draw the "pop-out" textures on the PP BOARD.
Posted Image
Affix the done up butterfly to the lil' Tiara with HOTGLUE GUN.
Posted Image
Stick the BEADS (I recycled mine...) unto the Butterfly.
Spray it completely with GOLD CHROME SPRAY (From Spotlight)
and PAINT the beads RED with FOLKART METALLIC PAINT (from Art Friend)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SILVERY CRISS-CROSS PANELS...
its the same idea with the PP BOARD cutting- the only difference is you need to get a THICK PP BOARD (the GREEN one you see in the pics above).
Posted Image
-String up the silvery beads (22 of them on each side @ 0.8cm width each is accurate - mine was too long) & the golden buttons
-You can choose to use FISHLINE (risk of breakin') , or SOFT WIRE (for a stiffer look like i did)
Posted Image
-HOT GLUE gun the string of beads down together with the PP BOARD before drawing Designs with the HOT GLUE gun.
Posted Image
-I affixed hair clips to the base of it - to clip it to the wig.
-Sprayed the whole thing down together with SILVER CHROME SPRAY (from Spotlight)
-Sprayed GRADIENTS with SHINY BLACK ANCHOR SPRAY to the middle of it as you can see in pic.

Posted Image
The End Product - only thing I regretted was pinning the silvery criss-cross abit too high.. *(-_-" )*
And the golden butterfly needs to be pinned further back to give it the accurate angle as in game.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

THE SNAKE ON HER LEG
haha...this one was something so impromptu that came to me at the very last minute.
How i actually managed to pull it off? is still a freakin' blur to me.

Posted Image
Look for this sorta fashionistic belts.... Try to look for a SIMILAR COLOR as this one.
(For those in Singapore, you are in luck.
Go to Chinatown and get it off any of those "chapalang" streetstalls...@ max $10..)

VERY CAREFULLY RIP OFF the SNAKE-SKIN-LIKE PVC material from the leather base with a PENKNIFE.
The proportions to make your snakey will be JUST RIGHT.

Posted Image
Stitch the snakeskin pvc to a BLACK leatherskin-like PVC....
I used the same BLACK leatherskin-like PVC for my top and the back of my obi bow as well.

Posted Image
Once you are done with stitching, STUFF your snakey with WARDING.
-Those in London, you can get WARDING from the fabrics/craft department
*not upholstery* John Lewis @ Oxford Circus for about £4 a shitload.

-Those in Singapore? Rip apart your old Garfield stuff toys. *(-_-" )*
The ones the Chinatown uncle sells is HORRIBLE - too hard.

Posted Image
Here's the COOL part:
SPRAY the stuffed and stitched up snakey with SHINY BLACK ANCHOR SPRAY....
....And then use tissue paper to BRIEFLY RUB OFF
some of the paint to give it a WEATHERED look.

This must be done ALMOST IMMEDIATELY after
you have sprayed it - you MUSTN'T ALLOW THE SPRAY TO DRY UP!

Posted Image
The Tissue paper will stick alittle to the lines on the snakeskin-like material...
Making the scaly effect all the more obvious...
The End product!~

Stunning work Cyrus I can't wait to see the finished costume.

And just to say I never meant this thread to be for people to 'show off' their costume progress as in being arrogant or big -headed but for people to showcase their talents to inspire, encourage and help other costume makers. Sorry if my bad use of words made it appear that way ^^

Cyrus has posted up a series of pictures that are not only helpful, inspiring (I love Noh and seeing your costume has made me want to cosplay her even more as it is so beautiful) but so damn pretty so please keep up the great work, you will make a gorgeous Noh.

I hope to post my very start of my progress later to day...not as pretty or inspiring but I have a long way to go before I am finished with my next costume.

Chousokabemotochika: What did you use to attach the two front spikes to the headdress?

These are OLD photos taken with a CRAPPY webcam, probably boring the the Singapore crew by now, but show how my armor was made:

This is a plastic file
Posted Image

This is little pieces of plastic file chopped and laced into armor...
Posted Image

...lots of armor....
Posted Image

Permanent paint marker was used to give a shaded effect, and the chopped bits were abraded with sandpaper to give a natural look.

Posted Image

The pattern used came from an actual piece of historic armor(slightly modified):

Greenzaku that armour looks amazing I will certainly have to try that if a future costume requires such armour ^^

As for attaching the front spikes to the headdress each spike started off as wire mesh which I wired with thin garden wire to the front of the headdress which was also wire mesh. I then added two small squares of scrape wire mesh to either side of each spike again using thin garden wire. I then added cardboard to the spikes to add depth and cover the whole lot in masking tape. The layers of paper Mash also help hold the spikes in place.
