Renbu for SW3?

Agree with above, character skills should definately return aswell. In the SW1 way, and also the collectible items and castle interior stages. They were great.

SW1 had both skills and items and it worked out fantastic, i think that system should definately return.

I think that renbu system should stay in, but mixed with weapons, so standard weapon gets the 1st renbu block, weapon 2 gets the second so u can uses 1st and second, weapon 3 lets you use all 3 and 4 has unlimited, and none of them can be decreased.

remember what console this is being released on, it they want to take advantage of the wii expect to swing yours arms about a lot so I dont think any of the current systems other than the one used in KATANA will be used

I love the fighting system samurai warriors 2 has but i think its time for something little more new. and in depth and well if its bad on wii its okay I don't have a wii.

ya i dont care if this game bombs on the wii cuz people are too stupid to see the flaw of WAVING your arm around in the same pattern and then get pissed off cuz they pulled a muscle lol :hehe:
i want a totaly diferent move system that does NOT go on forever that was stupid and should not return, each movest should be unique and :cool:
with at least three diferent, CHAIND charge attacks but also those clearing charge attacks when you hold down the charge button :P

sw should be unique and different than dw, please koei do a good job! :unsure:

I felt like the renbu system was refreshing at first but got tiresome easily. I'd have fun jumping and swimming around in the very nice looking enviornments, then suddenly my renbu was back at lvl 1. Wtf.

The prob is that the renbu system forces you to constantly kill every. little. generic. soldier on the map, JUST so you could pull off some pretty combo. Half the time those combos take too long and enemies tended to interupt me just as I was getting to the crowd clearing awesome part. (Xiao Qiao) XD.

I do not want to see renbu ever again...atleast not in SW3. :hehe:

The 360 and PS3 (if it is released on those platforms), should have the SW1 Character Abilities and Weapon Abilities system. Enough with this Weapon Fusion and modifing crap. The combat system should return to what it was, with deadlocks, and possibly the arena duels.

Personally, I'd like to see a different combat system for the Wii. Probably something as simple as having the A button exeuting the S-String, and then swinging the Wiimote for varying results in Charge attacks, like how it was in SWK, its executions and combos could happily vary depending on the character.

But don't put in the godforsaken Renbu.

The renbu system is so annoying, how you have to start off with not as many moves at each battle. x[
If sw3 is only for the wii I wont be able to get it anyway, but I think renbu will ruin it XD

I think the game should have a renbu system but different in a way.
Like the they should keep the whole infinite square thing but they need to still add specific triangles for everytime you press square.

I agree, Smily man. If DW switches to renbu, then SW cans stay with the normal system, though I hope they add more quirks (like the 2 special moves) and maybe even 2-button combos like in SC4 or Tekken.

I think they should keep the Samurai Warriors system intact. The renbu system killed DW6 for me. I loved the game don't get me wrong but when I want Zhou Yu to swing his staff around like crazy I don't want to have to hunt down every last enemy to get to inf. Renbu. That would be annoying for some of the SW characters like Ranmaru and other slow but strong attackers.

Keep the SW system!

Ugh... out with the Renbu system... it was a nice idea on paper but when put into play, it's more trouble then it's worth, at least the way it drains when you are not 'fighting'. I don't know what I would've done if I didn't have a horse with Renbu Gait in DW6 while playing a big map lol, probably lose half of my Renbu meter by walking...

Koei has always done some interesting things in SW games that they usually don't do in DW games until proven effective so it'll be interesting to see what Koei has up their sleeves for SW3...

Renbu is a good battle system, they just need to improve upon it.

Less ways to combo, certainly more repetitive, the renbu system drives me nuts. :crazy: It's so boring especially since they cannot come up with enough move sets for characters. It was a complete failure in my eyes. If they bring it to the samurai warriors series I will be very disappointed. :realangry:

me too, its needs a lot of work, or maybey a new system entirely, just not the old one or the same renbu....

this castle staged were terrible!!. so boring and repetitive

and the skills are awsome couse there really good and u can equipt all of them at once. i just dont like choseing a select number of items. :/

I like the endless combo chain system of the Renbu, but I don't like how you have to build it up in every new game, and goes down when you get hit.

Thats why I voted "Yes,but I want some changes from the DW6 one".

Something more along the lines of the combo system from Ninety-Nine Nights would be a welcome change. The amount of hits in a full light attack chain is practically a Renbu system on its own, and the sheer variety of charge attacks/specials inject far more variety into combat than any of the Warriors titles have done so far.

The movesets in nighty nine nights are so well done and so unique and they could make great ones with the weapons that our samurai warrior characters have.

Renbu was the downfall of Dynasty Warriors 6.
It is the reason I dislike it more than any in the series.
The infinite combo change however, was VERY NICE. The only thing wrong is that Renbu did NOTHING but hold you back. It was not useful and was only a pain in the ass to start out with a small combo chain each and every battle.
