I've been waiting for this stage to be added a long time to the DW series, but I think it was very dissapointing. I was hoping for an epic battle with all three factions included. Instead they made it into a Liu Bei stage (although Sun Ce arrives as reinforcements). I also have a question concerning the stage. In Overview before you start the battle it says something like "Chen Lan is going to outwit Yuan Shu". Has anyone understood what they are refering to? Because whenever I play, Chen Lan just stays in his fort and dies no matter what I do |

Chen Lan historically ditched Yuan Shu after he declared himself Emperor, then ransacked Yuan Shu's lands before becoming an independent lord and allying with the Sun family. Maybe they were going to do something about that in the stage but ended up leaving it out. |

Playing: Dynasty Warriors 6 Empires, Nobunaga's Ambition: Iron Triangle, Bladestorm, Gundam: G Generation Wars, iDOLM@STER: Wondering Star, Super Robot Wars A: Portable, Touhou 12.3: Hisoutensoku "The ability to speak does not make one intelligent." - Simple, yet wise words of a Jedi Master And then suddenly, lolis. | |

I liked it, mainly because it's an easy battle to level up your Shu characters. The map is huge and you can easily kill 1000 enemies here. I didn't even know this battle was in the game until I played it for the first time, so I had no expectations going in. I was pleasantly surprised with it. Edited by SnowMan, Nov 18 2008, 02:28 PM.

The cool cutscene starts it off with Liu Bei practically praising himself and talking about his goal towards the scenario at hand. It's not such a bad level, I like it also how Sun Ce arrives with Zhou Yu, and Zhou Yu announcing he seeks Liu Bei. The music change there is a noteable mark for the stage which IIRC was and is quite easy.

It was a nice break up to the usual early Shu levels. That and having some Sun Ce/Liu Bei interaction was nice for once. It would have been better if there was something else to fight beside generics. |

The thing that ruined the stage for me, it's just the wu territory with altered unit layout. |

I don't see why they made it seperate to the conquest of Wu. in every other battle where they reuse a map they do this thing where u select the stage and the force u want play as. the battle itself is ok i mean there isn't really a massive climax, it all really goes smoothly. pwning Yuan Shu feels good .

I reckon they should have at least designed the stage a bit differently. |
