no i dont smoke.smoking is bad for your health.the person will get addictied to the cigrattes which contain tobacco.if they continue smoke,they will suffer heart disease and lung cancer.it's better dont smoke if you want to live in a good condition. |

I know of a case about some guy that died of lung cancer and he had never smoked in his life, but he played in a band in a club full of smokers, did you know the smoke they breathe out is twice as bad? I have a friend who's a smoker and he really pisses me off, I find it disrespectful of him and any other smoker to be smoking when there's other people around and you have to breathe that damn smoke, if they have a deathwish then good, but don't take down non smokers with you as well. |

Hey keep it clean 100mer, none pulled a cigar from your mouth and bent it. No reason to be angry at one's point of view. I really hate smoking, my dad smokes all the time and it just disgusts me. It's got no benefit whatsoever and often leads to death. Besides, each cigar takes 5 minutes of out your life, getting addicted to smoking takes 20 years in your life. Seriously, if you don't care about your health, care about those around you. When smoking, the most dangerous part is the CO1 which you let out, and that often gets in someone's face. It's a waste of money, effort, health, money , time and money  I kinda swore not to smoke at all, most of the guys in my school smoke, it's terrible. Some of them used to have top marks too. Like last year, my class had 30 guys in it, and 12 of them were addicted to smoking. It may seem low compared to other countries out there, but 5 years ago you rarely see any youth smoking. Also, you see these warnings about cancer on the cigar box? They are warnings for those who are older than 18 years old. Those who smoke before so often die in a very young age if not lead them to drug addicting.

Yes, what zacattack said was wrong and it would have been better left to not say it. But, now you are the one who is attacking people and giving a spam post just to say " **** you". I think you just need to cool down a bit. As to zacattack and d-man's comments, you guys must relize that smoking is an addiction. I dont think anyone actually likes doing it. People get in to it for the wrong reasons, maybe depressed or by peer pressure and then they get addicted. And then most want to quit, but it is very hard, harder then you probably relize. And you are going to wish death upon someone like that? I think you guys need to rethink that a bit, because you honestly have no idea what its like for them. I myself do not smoke and am against it, but there is a thing called Justice... |

There are many products out there that are for people trying to quite smoking, and it doesnt really have to be just the gum, there are nicotine patches, and other stuff like that. I dont really know how effective they are...and I dont want to find out first hand either. Im sure if the gum is a way for smokers to quit, it would be riddled with nicotine, and Im not sure if that would taste any good, no matter what you put with it

the patches aren't as simple as they seem, they're a whole system to what strength of patch to use which corresponds with the amount of cigarettes you smoke. confusing stuff, am i the only person on here who smokes? |

D: my poor uncle is addicted to smoking; he's tried half a dozen times or so to give it up and failed, though he had a heart attack somewhat recently and now he *has* to. I feel really sorry for him because it's not like back in his day there were warnings (even knowledge?) of how bad smoking was  and now he has to try and give it up... I hope he's doing ok.having said that (in relation to quitting and patches and all), I've heard of people using the patches and smoking so they get super-nicotine o.o |

Yeah, upon giving up they become very tired and sick, that's of course if why it so hard to give it up after becoming an addict. And yeah, back in my father's day warnings and stuff were very weak and not many people were aware of how dangerous it is. A couple of weeks ago, my school had this meeting with one "drugs addict hospital" and they gave us a one hour speech with an interview with a former drug addict that managed to give up, he talked about his addict days, how he got into it, reasons and how his life was back then; he said it all started with some smoking, and he went from there :-\ |

I don't like smelling smokes nevermind smoking. On the pavement when people smokes I just go alway around them just to avoid breatheing the smokes in. I hate people who smokes even though they know its bad for them. Addiction or whatever, I don't care. You can always get help. People just do it for some other reasons not just addiction. Anyways smoking is bad all round. It is the main source which caused the global warming.

Alright. I'm a smoker. I smoke 1 pack of cigarets in a week.(of course,I have a pack which contains 60 cigarets,which I need to make myself) And I get pissed off when I see that the price keeps getting higher.  What's the point in raising the prices,people won't stop smoking.(Though it would be nice if the prices could be lowered)

the tax is horrible isn't it, it'd be great if they were even lowered slightly. and i don't think people on here get the addiction side, remember it's not just the nicotine, it's the whole process of smoking that yi get addicted to you trying to stop something you've done a few times everyday for a number of years |

hey I think I get it, I'm in a few process-addictions myself, like walking down to the newsagent and buying a coke on sundays (before church starts) XD even if I don't feel like anything, I walk down and buy something anyway, even if it's mostly for other people. Coca-Cola's something I doubt I could give up. So while I don't agree with smoking, I think I understand XD |

Sorry for the late reply but I actually didn't even notice you had said anything to me until now. You can't nessesarily call me wrong because that implies that you know what is right and to be honest, right is a matter of opinion. As I have said in other areas on this forum--I have no compassion for other human beings. I don't really care how hard it is to quit, it is their fault for ever picking it up. I will not pity them, that is what they want--disgusting. With that said, I have many close family friends who smoke, so it isn't like I have never known anyone who has smoked before. Please do not ever tell me what I do and do not know, because you have no idea who I am or what my life is like. Justice is a very vague concept and it has a different meaning to everyone. You may want to re-think that statement. Edit: The death of an absolute stranger does not affect me in the least way, and I will not cry for a loved one who brought death upon himself or herself. Yes, right is just a matter of opinion, but in a situation like this, in a forum environment, that actually does have a set of rules which defines the behaviour of others as right or wrong, it can be seen as wrong. And just remember, that not everyone can be right all the time, so that part is just not really necessary Even though you've probably heard this before...that is just bloody heartless mate, I dont really see how someone could actually feel that way towards others. If they've done something wrong to you or something like that...I would understand, but as far as I know, I have not seen a reason for that lack of compassion. Also, Ive had family members and friends who have tried to quit smoking, with the best of intentions for others...but they just find it incredibly difficult to do so...so just a question for you... if someone was a really nice person, and would pretty be called a saint...would you still not care if they died just because they smoked? |

I will never dare smoke a cigarette in my life. This is because my grandfather died of Esophageal Cancer ( which is in the Esophagus) which was caused by smoking. He died 1 year before I was born. |
