Thanks to everyone who attended the Strikeforce Gathering @ Memorabilia NEC (Birmingham) this weekend. Here we took some pictures and will now explain a bit on how the game system works. Obviously as you may know it's very different from the past Dynasty Warriors games, and it's much better than we all expected which is very good news.

This game allows up to 4 players to play in ad-hoc mode, you have your weapon growth and ability growth depending on how you level up your character. The selectable weapons are Sword, Spear, Halberd, Club, Bow and Staff and the ability growth list is Life, Awakening, Attack, Defense, Speed and Endurance. There's a time limit on every stage, so you have to move quick in order to get the mission done. For example, in Hu Lao Gate, you have 15 minutes to finish the stage, and all you have to do is kill the monster/gate guardian in front of Hu Lao Gate to win. Killing Lu Bu is kind of a sub-mission. And for your reference you're only allowed to die a maximum of 3 times within any level (alone or with your party members).

You can equip 2 armors on either arm and another 2 armors on either feet. Some of the armors are available for arms only, and some of them are available for both arms and feet as well. With this you're able to perform a double jump and fly if you equip "Float" and "Double Jump." Plus if you equip the "Fire Element Attack", all your attacks will be based on fire elements, so it all depends on how you customize your character. This'll of course add to your customisation benefits. Moving on with this long post, can select your Primary and Secondary Weapon as well. Noting that the primary weapon is usually the weapon you have originally. Choosing any secondary weapon based on what you like makes it able for your character to equip a bow... for instance, your moveset will automatically change to Sun Shang Xiang's weaponry, but if you equip a "Special Bow", your moveset will still be the same as Sun Shang Xiang but the Musou Attack will be different than her spinning bird kick by performing a giant arrow shoot in the end. This of course being a feature worth promoting.

The move list is more complicated than before - not all of them are listed on the Command List. Let's say the "X" button is the jump key, but if you equip the "Double Jump" you can press "X" button twice to do the double jump to add to the amount of acrobatics. And then if the playable character equips both "Double Jump" and "Float" on your feet, you have to press "X" --> "X" --> Hold "X" --> move with direction so you can float in the sky... So... there's much more things you can do in this game, and way more than what you and we would've expected concerning the combinations available.

You can make your own combos too! Read this... we know pressing the "Square" button 6 times for a Spear weapon, doing so, we can have a complete Zhao Yun's movelist, but if you press "Square" for 5 times (prevent from executing the 6th attack at the end of "Square") and directly go to press "Triangle", then "R" to dash, then "Triangle" to hit enemies in the sky, then unleash a musou attack, you can create a massive combos that is both rewarding to see and extremely useful to have at your disposal. For example: Hold "L" (to lock-on all the way until the end) --> "Square" --> "Square" --> "Square" --> "Square" --> "Square" --> "Triangle" --> "Triangle" --> "Triangle" (enemy will be thrown to the sky) --> "R" (dash to the enemy) --> "Triangle" (air combat) --> "Triangle" --> "Triangle" --> "Triangle" + "O" (awakening) --> "Triangle" + "O" (final attack), which gives you a massive amount of damage.

There are some amazing strategies in the Strikeforce gameplay, too. Minor features more or less, which though, still add to your fun at the end of the day. An example of this would be; in the first few stages, you have to find the keys from the officers to open the main gate. In the Yellow Turban Rebellion, you have to use "Grenades" found in your item list to throw it towards the siege to stop them from attacking you. And in the battle of Hu Lao Gate, you have to close all the gates of the caves to prevent tigers from coming into the fray. Actually, you don't have to, but can. Please note that.

Last but not least please note that this demo version is still in development and we believe the final version will have much more diversity than this one we've just talked about. But as you can see, there's already so many elements to get excited about compared to what we expect from the main Warrior titles or their expansion packs. This is new and fresh, something worth keeping an eye or two on.

Another nice info thread in your coverage of the game, I love it. This game gets more interesting by the moment, everything I read and saw just attracts me more to the game. The whole new game play, new combo system and equipment system sound really promising. Thanks again.

Okay.....WOW. :O It's like, I'm wowing everytime I see new Multi-Raid info! At least the battle system sounds really enticing...perhaps they should use Strikeforce as a standard for future Koei games :OMG:

Its no prob, and remember this is the game thats impressed me the most regarding the new incoming releases. Its not norm for Koei to make such a product that looks visually exciting but sounds like it will be, and, judging from the content and formula - I'm pretty sure it's. ;)

Remember like I said, its still just the demo version. So keep looking at the site whenever possible.

I haven't played the demo but from the pictures it seem like the renbu system isn't on strikeforce or empires.

but the time limit thing on this game isn't new just shorter before it was 99 now it's 15.

Also grenades ?????
Fire is hot yet ice is cold, that is what your body tells you. Your body is your vessel and you are the captain.
So always listing to what your body say because everyone knows the captain always go down with the ship

A demo is just part of the game, a small test if you will. I played the game at the recent London expodition on the playable PSP stand.

Looks better than I expected, somehow the keys look complicated to me =x Also, I did giggle at the grenades. Fire in the hole ! Also a bit sceptical how the weapon changing stuff will work out..

But hey this definetely looks like a step forward, hopefully the game turns out to be decent.

Im also a little bit confused by the combo list ^^;. The screenshots and the info posted has helped me get a better view of what the game is going to be like, and therefore has made me more excited about playing it once it is released :D. Thanks for the info LittleDragonZ :)
