Good, Bad or Undecided. Thanks to Neo Juste Belmont for just allowing me to remember to create this topic. So... do you think its a good idea? Or a bad one because you would like to take control of the historical figures? Please say here. I dislike the fact you do not speak. This could of been due to a time restraint though. And the fact there's limited options for faces, etc. The only great thing about controlling your character outside of the gameplay, is that there's many costumes to pick and weapons to wield. So unless they improve upon the above, I think it would be ideal for Koei to change this matter and let us control the legends like Joan and Edward. If not, better in a Warriors game.

I love the fact you get to play as a Mercenary. One of the main reasons I actually like the game as it was. At the same time, I think it would be better if you got a choice between Historical characters and your own created one. The game seemed to drag on a lot at points as it was, so I figure that could have been done to cut out some of the long winded parts of the game anyway. and as LDZ said, you only had so much customability and no voice. This never really bothered me to be honest, they had some cool costumes, and then the voice thing I don't mind, some of my favourite games not even having them (DW2 - bar certain clips, Fable and such) |

I actually really liked being the mercenary, you get to see both sides of the war, through the interaction with all of the historical figures. But if you were one of those historical figures, say Joan of Arc, you only see the war on their side, but I guess that can also be used to an advantage for Koei. Just as I was typing this, I had a thought as to a way to make it work. I was thinking, perhaps when you start the game, you get to chose to be either French, English, or Mercenary, and then you can chose/make a character and go through the story ![]() woop! off topic, but yeah, as LDZ said, the lack of voice in the cutscenes really started to get annoying after a while, but its only a very small price to pay for the great quality of the rest of the game

Yeah the Mercenary side allow you to play in French or English side as you want -except for historicals battles- it shows BS main characters by an outside view. Plus in The Hundred Years' War period, it fits history very well ^^It also shows that generals always need soldiers/mercenaries to win a war, it's a more realistic view than DW or SW view where one officer fight 1 000 soldiers alone (though some people can manage to do it ^^ ) And you can easily imagine you're the mercenary ![]() The ideal choice, it would be to play both mercenaries & BS characters

How about three factions: France (main character Joan), England (main character Edward), and mercenaries (main character Magnus/Hawkwood/Karen). And THEN, a fourth faction: a Custom Mercenary that will let you do what we did in the first Bladestorm. AND he can have his own voiceset that actually responds to the "pre-made" characters. And they can say stuff like "Enemy Squad defeated!!" or something.

I liked being a mercenary due to the fact that I wasn't obligated to any certain side. I like the different gear I can outfit my character in, but like most others, I would have liked to see a bit more originality and customability when it came to creating my mercenary. It would be nice if they would allow you to choose between the historic characters and your own, agreeing with whoever mentioned it above. |
