I wonder why didnt we get anything from Kou ? Iam really tired of Omega Force having all the schedule . Iam waiting for ROTK 12 for a year and not even an anouncment was made . Come on KOEI please say something ...I am dying to have a new ROTK on my PS3 . Also, Kessen 4 what happened to the series ? dont tell me to get BladeStorm because it is not even half as good as Kessen . DT1&2 were very very fun .In fact they are the best rated game in the sites .So what happened to DT3 ? It has been 2 years since the last ROTK , 3 years to the last Kessen and 5 years to the last Dynasty Tactics .I really really hope that when KOEI merges with Tecmo it will have more time to release these games . Iam very sad

Yes, I very much liked the DT games (Preferable DT1, wider selection of officers). I have always thought of a DT3, but never really thought it would actually come out. DT isn't really a best seller, compared to DW/SW. |

Thats right I took the low sales of DW6 as good news .I hope KOEI now is gonna do its best rather than giving Omega Force the whole schedule . |

You see, these games you're talking about are the games I'm really dying to get. ROTK series I'm STILL playing from years ago and I never get bored of em, DT were very great games though the earnings never encouraged KOEI to make more. Kessen III I think it is, IMO, the best game KOEI did in years and I would no doubt buy the next one, if it's to be released. Thing is, yelling and kicking the floor won't do any good, KOEI got plans for the next games, and the games that were recently announced, were underworkout months ago so you can only hope they're working on the said games now. I'm with you that I want these games ASAP, but I don't think KOEI will ever lend us an ear. Besides, they're busy with thier newer games at the very moment and they seem to release on of the said games between a bunch of thier main sellings (Take BladeStorm and Gundam Musuo for a good example, how they were released near the time of DW6, SW2XL, WO and WO2) |

Oh? What proof do you have of this? Everything I've heard of Bladestorm makes it out to be Kessen III but with more actual strategy element in it. |

While I agree it's a shame games like that get pushed in the corner for the likes of Dynasty Warriors: "x". KOEI are going to make what sells more over anything else, Dynasty Warriors will always be their big ticket item, followed by Samurai and Orochi. Some say Bladestorm = Kessen IV. I don't agree though at all - they are very different types of games, which just happen to be in a similar genre both made by KOEI. I compare to Kessen III to Bladestorm and it's like Apples to Oranges. |

I really wish Koei would expand upon their lesser known series as well, I keep saying how tired I am of DW, and it's true! I don't know if I can bring myself to buy another one, DW6 is collecting dust with less than half of the Musou Modes been completed. ![]() I'm in agreement with whoever said Kessen III was the best Koei game they've ever played... it was quite excellent, and I'd love to see another installment. HECK, if they just make ANY game with a story as good as Kessen III's I'll probably be happy. |

You know ...... I think that KOEI should realy change its strategy to get money imo. If you visit VG CHARTZ or any other site related to the sales of video games then you would see that DW series is falling when it comes to sales . DW4 sold better than DW5 which sold better than DW6 which probably is doing better than what DW7 would do .I have spoken to many people and they are angry of what have happened to the series . DW would be rated as games such as Tekken , Mortal Kombat and othe long run series but the problem has always been MILKING .. ROTK series with more than 11 games was always unique in every game released . I really hope that KOEI-TECMO thing would help the situation . |

without dynasty warriors, no western will know about ROTK before dynasty warriors series being released ROTK was only in the Asia market there is a high chance they stop developing because of ROTK Online as the ROTK team will have to focus on getting the updates for the online and if they release ROTK 12, online will lose all the players however, there are many chinese saying that the game is coming out they're developing with ROTK 12 to be similar game play to 7, 8 and 10 where you control one single character instead of a whole army and this person posted it on the 2008 March I do not remember the URL anymore and I have no idea if s/he made them all up, but there is a chance for every rumour to become a news and lets hope for it. |

Agreed. Koei will ONLY produce for what they get in return... our hard earned money. --------(Off-Topic)-------- Unfortunately this is the case with many game companies; for example... The 360 use their enormous cache of money to "bribe" different game companies. The list is too long but here are a few: -Exclusive DLC for GTA4 (ONLY on 360) -Ace Combat 6 (which used to be Sony exclusive since the late 90s) -FF13 (also been RPG exclusive for Sony consoles, minus FF11) The fact of the matter is, it is all about money and profit. No one cares about the fan base, however, which ever sells good, they will continue to release and improve upon so that the same consumers keep coming back to buy their product. Do you also notice the over-whelming amount of T.V. advertisements for games now? I see them for every console, but the majority for the 360. There is nothing wrong with Microsoft's console, they are doing a great job in advertising to their audience. But in the end, it's all about money, who has the most money, and that determines all. This next-gen era is all about competition toward the other consoles, bottom line. --------(Off-Topic)-------- But enough of me rambling off-topic... I agree totally with the users here. I want to see sequels to these fantastic Koei titles that also did extremely well. They seem to have been buried in the incredible releases of DW/SW games. They disserve to be created to break the constant boredum of DW/SW games and expansions (not that they are boring! But a change is needed soon). I think it's time to switch things up a bit. I really enjoyed WinBack Covert Operations, one of Koei's first titles on the PS2. The story was amazing even though people have said the voice acting was quirky. There was nothing wrong with the game, and in fact, the gameplay engine was copied by Hideo Kojima for MGS2 Sons of Liberty. Out of respect, in MGS2, you could acquire dog tags off one of the enemy soldiers that had the full name of the main character from WinBack... Jean-Luc Cougar. Koei created a sequel to WinBack and called it WinBack 2 Project Poseidon. It was released in early 2006. I guess it failed miserably and I do not know why Koei decided to develope it. I thought it was awesome. The graphics were just outstanding, but it lacked the in-depth mystery and story the first WinBack gave and the multiplayer was horrid. The first WinBack game had probably the most incredible multiplayer system you could get. You could play against bots with a friend, set AI control, maps, the works... The point I am making here is that I want Koei to consider making sequels to games they have already had success to, like most of you have already stated. WinBack 2 was not made correctly, and it suffered because of that. The first WinBack did very well, and 5 years later, they made another, but with ZERO ties to the first game to wrap anything up. While it was a good try, not a lot of effort was put in to it. Koei can easily do this with a new DT3, Kessen 4, and ROTK game(s). I am not opposed to any sequel, heck I wrote an amazing story using primitive storyboards for a college project and scored a 3.8/4.0 - and I created a new WinBack story in the process. [Many months ago we interviewed the woman who does Nouhime's VAs and also Mia Cabrera's voice in WinBack 2. Remember that question I asked her about playing Mia again if another WinBack game was released? She loved the idea and loved that character she portrayed. One day I will see if Chin can get me in contact with a Koei-rep so I can submit my idea ]Again I say, in the long run, the company will make games that earn them the most money. I think Koei should start doing RPGs preferably. They could take over the long-gone Legend of Legaia series, and totally remake the first one that appeared on PS1 in HD or something. Do not give up hope. Look at the WinBack games! They sequeled the first game that came out in 2000 with the new one in 2006. I am more than positive that sequels to games like DT, Kessen, and ROTK are not that far away. |
