Am I The Only One Who Wants an Orochi X Story?; I sure hope not...

Not only because I would like to play his side of the story, but mainly because I would like the characters serving under him (Kiyomori Taira, Himiko, etc.) to actually have a point in Free Mode. I don't know about you, but for me it's difficult to play as those characters because they stick out like a sore thumb in every Free Mode battle in the game. I don't care if you get characters you've already unlocked to use on his forces, I just want to play the Orochi X side of the battles. It could of been something like this: Starting Characters: Da Ji, Gyuki, & Dodomekki Orochi X 1 Characters Unlocked: Lu Bu & Diao Chan Orochi X 2 Characters Unlocked: Dong Zhuo, Goemon Ishikawa, & Kotaro Fuma Orochi X 3 Characters Unlocked: Kiyomori Taira & Masamune Date Orochi X 4 Characters Unlocked: Sun Wukong Orochi X 5 Characters Unlocked: Sima Yi & Keiji Maeda Orochi X 6 Characters Unlocked: Himiko Orochi X 7 Characters Unlocked: Orochi X Orochi X 8 Characters Unlocked: None Or something along those lines. Here's hoping for a Story Mode for ALL forces in WO3, who's with me?

At least with an Orochi X mode they would be of some use instead of just unlock for fun etc. >_> Best to get all the factions with stories so that not only these characters but all characters may have a chance to actually take part in the whole storyline (like you said, somewhat )

Posts: 623 Group: Members Member #12,847 Joined: January 23, 2008 Gender Male	The Orochi X story was like the Orochi story in this one because it didnt have an Orochi story in the first WO so it had one in the second one and it was the first games Orochi story mode in this one and so we dont get the Orochi stary mode in WO2 that is the WO2 story line but WO1 and in WO3 it will be WO2's Orochi story mode and so on but i think eventually it will have to catch up to itself... I don't know about you, but i think they need to develop Da Ji much more in the next game, i think the Orochi story needs to focus primarily on her because she kinda sets all the wheels in motion for the chaotic world, and they could do a twisted love story. They hint in WO2 that Himiko is the daughter of da ji and orochi, so that would be completely twisted if they did a story like that, it could be facinating. And if anything, if we end up fighting orochi once more, we need to fight him in more stages than just one final battle. it's kinda like in jason x where he gets that like new form in the last 20 minutes of the movie and dies 5 minutes later, it's not as good. orochi x makes one appearance than dies again? i mean, that's not good enough for me. At the end of the Wei story they hint that Orochi wanted his death to happen though, which could connote that he intends the most powerful from sengoku era to face the three kingdoms. i've been wanting just a face-off between japan and china.

She's just a Japanese shaman queen who travelled with Kiyomori and became Da Ji's best friend (altho Da Ji's messing with Himiko's mind by telling her that the Coalition are the bad guys). Also, who says Orochi X has to die. For instance, none of the endings in WO1 are canon (some of the elements in those endings did happen, like Liu Bei being rescued). It's quite possible that the WO2 didn't happen either, and that Orochi X didn't get killed. And about Da Ji becoming the main char in the Orochi story: NO! She already had too much attention in the first game (she was Orochi's only general back then) and she plays a rather big part in the prequel story. Personally, i think Kiyomori's gonna be the man in the next Orochi story because he revived Orochi, he brought the former Orochi officers together again and he made a last stand to stop the Coalition (4 last stances apparently , which is why i think the 7 stages also didn't happen). And i don't think Kiyomori needs reviving. Like he says: "The netherworld cannot contain me!". I don't think we've seen the last of him yet

But then(No Offense),I'll think if Koei releases WO3..it'll be pretty...nonscence...

Scottish Samurai Posts: 731 Group: Members Member #12,998 Joined: January 31, 2008	Is there enough material there for an Orochi X plotline, i for one would prefer more forces instead ala Tokugowa and Taira plotlines rather than Orochi X. I have to say Orochi X is nothing more than an extra in WO2, he didnt appear as the force he was and feared by all as he was as his dominant self in the original...this game was more about Kiyomori for me - he was the one no one could seem to get the edge over and people really took notice of.

Actively Retired Posts: 4,128 Group: Members Member #7,393 Joined: May 17, 2007 Gender Male	Hmm, if not an entire storyline (WO2 events from Orochi's side) for the next title, KOEI could've at least unlocked Shin Orochi's side of the final 4 battles in WO2 once you unlocked Shin Orochi. That would've been awesome to play Wu Zhang Plains, Chi Bi, Guan Du & Sekigahara on Orochi's forces using Shin Orochi, Gyuki & Dodomekki. They could've made the battles begin after the various coalition forces defeated most of your officers/allies (regular WO2 final battle progression) so that its just you as Shin Orochi (with your trusty boar and undead ninja beside you ) left in the main camp(s) against EVERYONE

Therefore, the only logical conclusion is that Koei hints that Himiko could be their daughter, despite whatever she was in history. This would work as an amazing plot twist. As for Kiyomori, i think you give him too much credit, he sucks. It's all thanks to Da Ji why fools like him are free. So, i only hope in the next warriors orochi they develop further Da Ji's intentions on freeing Orochi and don't just leave it with the Joker's philosophy on watching the world burn, haha.

First Lieutenant Posts: 147 Group: Members Member #9,423 Joined: August 29, 2007	I dunno about you guys, but I think we should probably just keep Tecmo characters out of this one and just let Koei do their thing. I love my Ninja Gaiden, and my Warriors, but I don't think they would make a good mix. As for the Orochi X story, more stages are always good, but it'd be more like the Kiyomori story than Orochi, considering his circumstances in the story of WO2. Which in itself isn't so bad, but isn't quite what you're looking for.

I have to state that i DONT want Temco characters in the series but i do think theres plenty of scope to get in the likes of the Bladestorm stalwarts (complete with there own forces and movesets in the game) should KOEI desire to to so - with this series they can be as creative with the narrative as there heart desires really

Soldier Posts: 9 Group: Members Member #19,629 Joined: November 19, 2008 Gender Male	I think it would be a good idea, the first Orochi story line filled in the gap that we had to guess or research on in the first one, and haveing either Kiyomori or Da Ji (Both did have their own seperate paths that only merged near the end) would be nice, fill in the gaps in WO2. Plus with more generals to uses (Gyuki & Dodomekki), it is possable, or maybe a Kiyomori and a Da Ji story since they had seperat paths, I would personally like it to set a more concrete layout of how the final battle with Orochi X when (But then again, i haven't done extensive research about it).
