Ill agree with that. First off, I know difficulty isnt something you can elaborate on too much, but please give your reasons, other wise it is considered spam. DW2: levels were a lot more difficult and took me a lot longer to get through a story then in other games. And there wasnt much to give your character added strength other then leveling them up. Like in WO2, there is just so much to make you powerful that it is kind of ridiculous. I actually found DW4 to be the next hardest of the DW series. The nanman level was freakin impossible  SW1: because of seige levels, they were tough due to not having any allies. I would often just skip the enemies and run straight to the next floor if I could

Agree completely with DW2, don't know about SW1 as i've never played it but DW2 is by far the most difficult I've played. The enemies are stronger, your allies very unhelpful (I know they're pretty useless in most Warriors games but in this they were probably worst) and enemy officers abuse healing so much

OMG I forgot about that, ya the healing is so annoying. You knock them down and then their life is full again. The worst was playing at Hu Lao Gate and facing Lu Bu, i remember getting him to just about zero life and then he healed himself to a full bar, it pissed me off, because it took me so long just to get him to that point. And Lu Bu is a lot tougher in DW2. I forget if any of the other games had enemies that healed them selves. |

Sengoku Musou ICHI without MUSHOUDEN. The whole enemies leveling with you? Only getting a certain amount of skill points? Enemies who are smart and can combo and juggle? SW1 by itself is a beautiful beast of chaos and difficulty. |

Indeed.  Made the game rather frustrating at certain points, especially while trying to get weaker characters' 4th weapons... I was relieved when that was error was nullified in XL... haha. DW3 was the most difficult for me... maybe it was because it was my first DW game, and I didn't know about the value of leveling in Free Mode. Instead, I would try to plow through Musou Mode's, going from one level right to the next, no addition training. Zhao Yun at Yiling took me a very, very long time. And as for Wei side of Hei Fei Castle? Damn near impossible without 2 Player Co-Op! Wu's archer ambush anyone? o_o; Ahhh... the good ol' days... |

Oh man that mission gave me nightmares, just like you pointed out the only way I could win that was by getting another player to help me out. Archers were tough as hell in DW3. Another single mission that stands out for been extremely challenging for me is in Kessen 3, The Final Battle of Mikawa. Holy crap that was tough, REALLY tough. The Takeda army is so overpowered in comparison to your army, for better (or worse) you could however avoid it as it was essentially an option mission by simply avoiding it and doing all the other major battles instead. |

Oh gosh I know. Your allies start dropping like FLIES, you're health is down to red in SECONDS, you're scrambling for health as Lu Xun and Gan Ning follow your tail... Then... "fwoosh!" ARROW'D! Ah, Kessen III had some challenging levels as well. Actually, it was the very last battle I struggled with the most. I remember that annoying Spanish guy Pedro was pretty tough, as well as Mitsuhide (had some powerful freakin' spells). I was so relieved when I finally managed to beat it. XD And I played EVERY single Bandit level too... I should have had enough experience... but it was still challenging. |

I cant really remember playing DW2 that much, but man i remember that it was a pain in the backside to try and finish a few levels, but i think DW3 is going to have to take the cake for this one, the AI in that game was so much more superior...and when i say superior, i mean they were relentless in absolutely beating you to a pulp. The some of the Special Battles on Bladestorm can be really hard and frustrating...as you are against the entirety of either the french or english army, and you have not one ally, all you have is your own units to summon...and one base from which to work from...not a whole lot that you can do but stand and shoot a lot

DW3. One word: ARCHERS. You can play as anyone in that game, but you're still going to die at the Battle of He Fei when Zhang Liao launches that ambush, and you're still going to become a pincushion if you GO TO THAT PLACE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE LAKE AT HE FEI CASTLE. Seriously. Don't do it. Also, in that game, Lu Bu was actually ridiculously strong and near unbeatable - he was far easier to kill in DW5. Not to mention you have to fight him and Zhang Liao at the same time... (though even when I was playing Lu Bu I got shot to death by the He Fei Archer Killing Squad. People who haven't played DW3 cannot even begin to fathom their deadliness in that game.) SW2 was pretty difficult too due to the massive increase in AI and blocking skills (and how they can actually roll away from your musous), but it's really easy once you get the hang of it. I can beat Tadakatsu fairly easily with any character now, though occasionally he still slays me. Use of rolling is just too important in the game. Edited by DeeEmm, Nov 15 2008, 11:31 AM.

For me it would be DW 2 or 3. DW2 Because it just seemed so hard the AI were on a league of their own and for a first timer player it, its just difficult until you can get the hang of it. If i remember correctly aswell you had to find saves ''check-points'' throughout the stages, there wasnt any interm saves in the pause menu. DW3: I agree with DeeEmm, the archers are relentless. They just shoot you until you run away or you are already dead, Thus why in that game i tend to set my bodyguards to Archers or Crossbow men |

I guess DW3. DW4 was only hard in higher difficulties, aside that is was a piece of cake. DW5 is obviously the easier one ever. DW2 was also very easy, I dunno why people say it's hard, even Lu Bu was nothing special. DW3 I think is the hardest because of archers, and pretty bad movesets system where you can have more than a charge attack in a combo. DW6, could be harder than 3 to me because I can't take playing a few levels in  SW2 is easy, only notable hard things are unlocking the special BGs and maybe the special horses. SW1's survival mode alone is the hardest thing in all of the warrior games, generally though, DW3 gets my vote. |

Mine's the same with CDM: DW Gundam. I've never been challenged by the generals in the other games, but here it's so different because the generals in this game are very clever. Anyway, from what I've seen from demo impression videos, I'm expecting the sequel to be even more challenging and difficult... |

Hmm. Gundam is really brutal isn't it? I've heard plenty of people say its ruthless. If I could find it for less than $60 American Pesos, I would purchase it to see just how hard it really is.... |

It is challenging. On the hard mode and in situations in the final stages of any story you will find taking on the final boss to resemble that of fighting a experienced friend. Someone who has mastered the controls anyway. It's just like in DW3 - you do weak damage to him/her and them to you. Plus they fight aggressively on hard. |

The only game that ever gave me a problem was DW4. I lost more allies in this game then in SW2. It's also a good way to lose a chunk of health within minutes of the beginning battle. What makes it worse, is when I play Empires mode on easy, I got killed by the likes of Ma Chao and Huang Gai. T_T |

So, what Warriors game that you have played do you deem the most difficult? When Samurai Warriors came out, I was only made aware of it by ads, but forgot the game quickly. By the time SW2:E came out I decided to give it a try. I rented it and didn't like it at first. The gameplay felt bulky and sluggish and the camera seemed tighter than I was used to. Most bothersome was the fact that mere peons were able to effectively kick my ass. I tried the game again and grew fonder of it and eventually bought it. Now it is amongst my most favorite Koei games and I beat all scenarios on chaos. This game is the most difficult I have played so far. My apologies if this topic has already been done. |

Mine is definitely Samurai Warriors 2. Despite all the help you get from upgrading your weapons its the fact that 5 officers start teaming up on you and trap you in a corner that gets irritating. |

DW3... I remember playing it and getting stuck on a story because everytime we moved we were getting shot by archers, who took out a quarter of our life with every shot...Even on other stages, we couldn't make it passed because we'd always be killed by archers or because an archer lowered our life down to almost nothing and an officer killed us. Or a minion...  I hate archers...
