I feel like I'm the only one who doesn't like the English version of The Boys, lawl :innocent:

Oh well.
Well, I definitely prefer the Korean version. At least those translated lyrics make sense. The lyrics of the English version make no sense at all.

True, all very true. I wonder the year when Kpop bands will do both their songs in Asia and in America. I just don't think the American music industry is ready for it yet..
Yeah, BoA was huge in all over Asia in the early 2000s. Then she made her way into the American music industry. I wouldn't say it was terrible, but I wouldn't have called it a successful venture.
Well its the fact probably that most Americans aren't exactly open minded when it comes to music.. I blame rap

@Swan Really? :o That could be good if one of them (will.i.am or Nicki) hyped them up to make them popular.

Ahh I just prefer the English because I feel like I can get into the song more, even if the lyrics suck :innocent:

2NE1's english album is being produced by Will.i.am so he will inevitably hype them a lot.

Plus you've probably seen them on TV and didn't know it. They are on the Adidas originals and they dance in the middle of the street in Japan with weird clothes on.

Plus they are from the same Korean company as Psy.

Problem right now is that most people only know of Kpop as Gangnam Style. The thing is Gangnam Style isn't like most Kpop at all. So I feel most people would just be disappointed if they tried to get into more Kpop just because they like Gangnam Style and are expecting more Kpop to sound like it.

If they stick to I Am The Best and stick with that style, I have a feeling they would make it.

Gangnam style just gets old after a couple listens anyway. :kurokan:

And you're right, it's not like most kpop at all.

Although something odd is that I've come across SNSD's so called most popular song Gee, and it's the only one I absolutely can't stand

@Swan I don't watch much TV :innocent: but probably

The chorus of Gee matches perfectly to the end dance in Sid the Science Kid

Well my favorite album was before Gee :innocent:

Lot of people don't like the cutesy side of Kpop. I embrace it :ph43r:

I remember when I first listened to kpop that I actually realized was Korean I hated it. :innocent:

But then I listened to it more. Of course I have more of a thing for the ballad type songs, but the catchy music is definitely fun to listen to. :ph43r:

What's worse is following tons of groups and remembering all of their names. :kurokan:

Well you think of being a guy and telling your friends you like some pop song by a bunch of chicks expressing how it's basically girl power and they control the boys :innocent:

In which I oddly can't seem to get into them :/ Just haven't cared for any of their songs yet I guess. Hopefully in the future.

@Gai: I sway my fandom for SNSD all over my college campus  no one, including me, cares. Just got to be who you are and don't be ashamed of it

Gah I know, I've just always been really bad with that, probably because my family constantly made fun of me, and still do, for being a DW fanboy.

But I applaud for being able to do that. Not something I'm able to do :kurokan:

Pfft  my older brother is the same. And he always says Dynasty Warriors with a nerdy weird voice. Funny thing is, he is the one that originally bought DW2 for himself, which got me into the whole thing.

Funny thing is my family forgets they used to be really into it too. I remember in DW3, me and my brother and sister would battle each other everyday. Her favorite was Zhao Yun, his was Pang Tong. Sorry for being such a geek and actually pursuing a fun series
