Wish I could have done Russian in high school. I took Arabic from home when I was younger though and French in school. Shamefully I barely remember anything of both.

Languages are so fun. And it's nice to be able to understand people without relying on their knowledge of your language. |

I have to say though, English grammar is way easier than other languages. Sure I might not have room to talk, but really. |

I remember nothing of Russian, just trivial unimportant stuff. Took French more seriously and it IS the one I liked most but somehow some voice in my head convinced me I should go with Arabic in the end.Lol foreigners come here to learn Turkish but are suprised by the people here insisting "NO, WE WANT TO SPEAK YOUR LANGUAGE BABA" |

I always imagine English being extremely confusing and difficult for anyone learning it outside of their 1st language. Especially American English. Our usage and slang just seems so brutally endless and jumbled.

It gets pretty ridiculous here. I mean you can seriously pretty much just be popular enough here, make up a random sound, start saying it like a word enough and bam!! It's suddenly an overused common "slang" term.

Then they need an entire dictionary for official slang terms.

Not to mention one slang term can mean one thing in one state or city and then that same word can be slang in another but with an entirely different meaning and back story.

If you are not in a country where English is the mother tongue, it will DEFINETLY be the first foreign language you learn in school. Rarely ever see people complain about it being difficult, many find it even easier than their first languages. Its vocabulary is the perfect balance between all languages in the world and its grammar is fairly easier than most others too. But if we are to talk about its slang terms and local dialects and things like that, then I have no idea.

In Korea, English is probably the most popular language to take. I still find it confusing from time to time though.
