The first World Cup I watched was 2002, South Korea was a very irritating team that beaten the big ones Italy, Portugal and Spain, I promised myself the nation that would beat them will become my favorite forever, and Germany beat them in the semifinal, Ballack scored the game's winner.

Ballack was awesome, shame how he missed the 2010 World Cup and then his whole career went to hell. :<
All I remember are all the dreadful games we've had against Germany in the major competitions  Team now looks fairly interesting though, a lot more younger not as known talents coming in. New coach a couple of years ago was really needed, instead of the old guy who just went the same lineup over and over again, and didn't realize we couldn't get further than the first rounds after group stages >_< A shame Majstorovic was injured before the European Cup though D: IMO the best defender we've had.

And I personally love South Korean, Japan too. They're always the underdogs despite being really good, never hear them among the big name teams, despite them having the skills to beat them

2006, last 5 minutes goal. Still, that competition was on home for the Germans.

That last Euro Cup Sweden just ended so unlucky in the same group as England and France, and even HOSTS Ukraine, even then, they were close to making it. I have little knowledge about Suede players though, aside from Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henric Larsson I will mostly forget the names.

South Korea has always been a wonderful team, in 2002 the third place playoff was Turkey-South Korea and everybody was certain they will wreck us. They were wrong. :innocent:

I actually don't remember much if which matches took place in what tournaments  I didn't watch too much back then though, always said I would, but never did. Last World Cup and European Cup I did take the time though, I had my teams that I was following, and didn't miss a single game.

Some games were absolute crap though, really should've played better, the team just felt very lacking overall. And trainer seems to affraid to take out the big name players even when they're having a bad game. Källström played like crap and made so many mistakes, and yet they kept him on and took our Sebastian Larsson when they FINALLY took in Wilhelmson. Wilhelmson rarely gets any playtime, it's crazy, his skills are up there with the best. You should really look him up  Really underrated midfielder. I temember when he finally got to play in the EC, it was so fainful to watch. Took him in with like, 15 minutes left, and he just went around everyone, but none of the attackers had the energy to push into the penalty area, so it was all just a waste >_< And surprised you don't know Thomas Ravelli, he's a huge legend in the sport, always see him on the legends team in all the soccer games, or at least the ones I have that are a bit older

Oh yeah, I remember that now, the matchup that is XD It was just such an unexpected matchup. Also makes me think of Greece - Portugal, the walk in the park finals that Portugal was supossed to have

@Swan: That could work, unless Swan has some other nice alternatives to tempt with

I remember Christian Wilhelmsson from his days in Spanish league, he was a player all teams looked out from. Kim Källström and Sebastian Larsson are a names I hear quite often too. It is just easy to lose the names when you have all this many stars in the bigger teams/nations already.

Omg shirtless Bastian.
