Jpop rules all.
I haven't tried Jpop, is it similar to Kpop?

For some reason I imagine Jpop all being electronic/trance stuff :)

Excellent question. I'm pretty sure Jpop was just made up a few hours ago, but I could be wrong... lol

Those forums are more active is all. :hmph:

@Trash Well from my standpoint, music is entertainment. And it entertains me. :innocent:

Besides, not all songs in kpop are just cheesy bubble gum pop songs. Kpop more stands for Korean popular music. Theres rock bands, hip hop/rap bands, alternative bands, jazzy songs, and some really well composed songs actually.

The cheesy pop songs are just the more talked about ones.

Have never gotten into Jpop actually.

Kpop isn't exactly an accurate way to describe majority of those things though. Pop was was also just popular forms of music when it was created, but it developed into it's own genre, so using Kpop to describe any form of popular korean music is not a good way to do it. It's not a genre in itself, it's just foreign for most people. And the Pop genre, no matter where it comes from, lacks the musical talent that a lot of the other ones have. Sure, it has a lot of good singers, but that's pretty much about it in most cases. I can understand that other like it, but it's a genre I despise a lot. But then again, when it comes to music, my mind has been ruined forever.

I've started listening to Kpop since Psy became big in the west. I didn't really know anything about it before and I'm still new to it. But tbh I just see it as something fun and different, its refreshing compared to the same-old Americanized stuff we've had for years. So yeah I guess it is partly because its "foreign", it is a novelty. Although, I really do like it and I can't see it just being a "fad" that will die away once the novelty wears off, it's too catchy.

I'm not saying that it isnt mainly pop music, i just mean that its not all of it.

And even if pop isn't as advanced as other genres, it still takes years of dedication and practice for vocalists to master singing.

Theres a lot of groups that are just eh when it comes to talent and i dont really listen to them.

Theres some groups that have great vocalists, composers, dancers, lyricists, and stage presence/uniqueness (not many, but theyre out there)

I know i don't have as much experience in music, but there are still artists out there in kpop that deserve praise imo. I think its a little unfair to just write them all off as bad because of the name of the genre.

I never said that they weren't talented, I did in fact state the opposite.

And I can say that pop music isn't for me, I know that, and if you understood where I am coming from, then maybe you would understand that
