Interesting. I had a test recently which included the USA History in 1800s, but it was focused on the Monroe Doutrine and Destiny Manifest
( Anyway, we had a lot of questions more about Getulio Vargas. Brasil's History ftw :ph43r: )

Well, in tenth grade year, we focus on US history, whereas last year we did World History.

Junior year you don't have to take a class, but you can take World Religions.

And Senior Year, you take US Government, which is required to graduate.

Now you enticed my curiosity: What does North Americans( from US) study in World History?
Have you ever studied about Rome, Greece and other great empires?

In seventh grade you learn about the Greek and Roman empires.

Eighth grade is Civil War and Revolutionary War.

Ninth grade is WWI, WWII, The Great Depression, some pre-Cold War stuff, Industrial Revolution, and Imperialism.

And from sixth grade up through ninth, you talk about Holocaust stuff. It was in sixth grade that we had to write an essay about Hitler.

Ok, I'm asking this just for the sake of sarcasm, so, if you feel uncomfortable with answering this, just tell me: Do you north americans, by any miracle of life, study Russia's Socialist Revolution? :P

@GGM: What do you have with Greece?

We studied some stuff about Russia, but not really long enough to know a lot.

But, I do know that the first thing I learned about in history was in fifth grade.

The Revolutionary War.

Big surprise there.

Yeah, Greece is a great civilization to study. Especially because of their "polis" and because of all their wars.

Too bad Sparta, Athens and the other cities-state could never unite definitely

@Shinju: You mean the First War of Independence in the US?
Man, and I didn't even think Russia was mentioned to you from USA( just for an obvious reason, called, uh, Socialist ideas)

Here we study all of its stages. It's damn cool, as well as all of History :P

What are the other two?

And, I'm also a history geek. But, I like all areas of History, except the History included in Biology and Arts. If I think it is history, I go well. If I think it is Biology or Arts, I fail.

My bailiwick in History is Brasil's History :P

Japanese history... especially that of Edo and surrounding the Shinsengumi, and WWII.
I am actually quite a history geek all around, but those are definitely my favorite subjects. :ph43r:

I had fun learning about Greek history in seventh grade.

We did this activity where you wear those things that are like togas but have a different name. I know it starts with a C.

My group was in Corinth and my name was Pandora.

And my group got first place in the play and in the entire event overall. We did Antigone for our play.

We here have only WWII as a detailed study into Japan's history. Actually, we study everyone who ever had lands in Brasil or dominated it. We study mainly Europe and America ( the whole continent). That's where my hate to Portugal and Spain and my resentment for England comes from :kurokan:
