Welcome to the KW FAQ! Here is the place where you may view the answers to a lot of questions that might have you stumped. Currently it may not seem like much, but never fear for it will be continually updated as more things become relevant. Q. Where are the forum rules? A. You may find them HERE ![]() Q. How do I post? A. By clicking on from either the top or the bottom of the page.Q. How do I quote a post? A. By clicking on at the bottom part of the said member's post.Q. Huh? I tried quoting a long exchange between people but not all of it appeared in my post. Why? A. The chain quote limit has been set at five, meaning that any before that will not appear. This is to negate page stretching and clutter. You can still quote as many times as you would like. The limit is only imposed on quotes within quotes. Q. How can I report a post that I find inappropriate? A. By clicking on at the bottom of the said member's post.Q. I've made an error in a post, how can I edit it? A. By contacting the moderator of the said section that your post is in. If he or she is unavailable you may contact any other moderator that is currently available. You must state an acceptable reason as to why your post should be deleted. For example, if you accidentally double posted or if you posted in the wrong thread otherwise it may cause confusion. Q. How can I attach a poll to my topic? A. By clicking on the (Add Poll) button under the body of your text in the edit menu. It extends and from there you can create it to your liking. Q. They include how to italicize, bold, underline, quote additional content and show an image among many other things. Q. Is swearing and cursing allowed in posts? A. Yes, but to an extent. You must censor the word itself and even then you must not use it excessively. Also under no circumstances is it to be directed at another member lest a warn be incurred. Q. What is the post count? A. A count that shows the number of posts that you have made. Please note that posts made in the Fun Area and in the Role-Playing Forum do not count towards your post count. Q. In order to change your member title you must have amassed at least 12 posts. Not including posts made in the Fun Area or Roleplay forum. Q. How can I change the board's theme? A. Can also be changed by the "Board Preferences" which is found under "Board Controls" after clicking on "Preferences" Q. What is a PM? And how do I send one? A. PM stands for Private Messaging and is the channel through which you are able to communicate privately with another member. To send a private message to a member you may click on / which is located near the quote and report buttons at the bottom of the said member's post or you could choose to PM directly from the member's profile via the "PM" link located in contact information. It can also be done completely manually by following this LINK. There you will have to input the member's username yourself. Q. I've received a harassing/annoying PM. How can I report it? A. Same with regular posts. Just click on that is located just above the actual message of the PM, on the same line as the username of that member.Advanced settings for your profile can be found under "Board Controls" which is found after clicking on preferences. This includes added security, changing PM settings, changing the board time among many other things. Q. I always seem to get this message "Search offline while the search system indexes all posts. Please check back later." when attempting a search. Can it be fixed? A. Our host Zetaboards, currently has that option turned offline and there is no way to bypass it at the moment. They are trying to fix the option and as soon as it is done we will let you know. Q. Am I able to advertise my site? A. Yes, but only by posting it in THIS THREAD and having it in your signature. Creating topics solely for advertising is not permitted. ![]() Q. Where is the list of all the current members of staff? A. The list would be right HERE. Q. Is it possible to become a member of staff? A. Yes it is. However only when there are openings, and when there are openings an application thread will be open in the News/Announcements forum. At other times it is not possible. Q. I've been told not to spam. But what is spam? A. Spam posts are those that do not contribute to the overall discussion of the thread. For example having simply a sentence in character topic "I like Ma Chao because he's the coolest!!!" does not add anything to the discussion, elaborating is the best way to go. In this case it would be "what makes Ma Chao the coolest? etc" Completely off topic posts can also be counted as spam. Q. Warns. What are they? A. Warns are a form of punishment dealt out for breaking the rules repeatedly, this includes flaming, trolling, being disrespectful, continuously spamming etc. There are four levels, them being 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%. Reaching the 100% mark will automatically lead to a ban. However in some circumstances punishments may vary due to the actions. Please note that Warns and warnings are different things, with the latter being more informal (PM only or a post in topic) and not resulting in withstanding consequences in itself. After a six month period you will be eligible to have your warning removed if it is felt by the staff that you deserve it. Q. Banning. What is it? A. A complete expulsion from the forum. Viewing and posting will be disabled. Edited by Astus, Nov 2 2009, 01:10 PM.
