Right this is Benkei... http://koeiwarriors.co.uk/images/magazinescans/moz/moz1-1.jpg Looking from the scan I found something funny!!  It says his interest is to collect various weapons, that's why there are so much weapons at his back, it's all his collection  And now he's looking at Guan Ping and Sakon's weapons, he wants to collect them as well CMIIW Edited by Plu, Jan 21 2009, 10:08 PM.

Haha, ok it's like history tells then, he collected all the weapons from the wiedlers he slayed. Hmmm he must at least use an attack that uses more than one weapon then. I expect that's the case. |

Really excited about Benkei.Love his weapon and character design,and I would wonder what his R1 attack(s) would be.Possibly,similar Nene in SW2,Benkei could copy a moveset from someone near him.Tee hee.'Twould be awesome,in my humble opinion.He's a bit Xu Huang/Kenshin Uesugi/Xu Zhu-esque....How dare that worthless accumulation of trash even touch one of the Guan clan!Let the divine wrath of the Yellow Turban rain down upon Benkei's hellish person! |

It does make him more mercenary-like, and you know someone with a hobby for collecting weapons from defeated enemies from foes across time and space (from Japan and China entirely) might be a reason why he might be with Orochi's forces, although that kinda puts him closer to Keiji there doesn't it? |

He looks like to be on Da Ji & Himiko's side on these new screenshots. His Japanese armour is cool, & his weapons seems to be special, the "big fist" maybe he also uses weapons he wears on his back ^^ Does he get Guan Ping weapon on the screenshots ?? XD |

Well so far the only argument against him not being in orochi's forces is that it could be a dream mode stage, as it was pictured with Yoshitsune and Kiyomori as fellow teammates, but the orochi forces seems odd, especially for Yoshitsune and yet with Kiyomori to choose a non orochi force would be equally odd. So far really the only unkown is Benkei but appearing in Orochi's forces in Dream Mode is not an indicator of being with them in the main story ( see Kojuro). |

He looks pretty cool. I really hope he'll use those weapons too.  I'm hoping his Dream Mode has something to do with him collecting weapons from a lot of the playables.  I really hope he's not actually with Orochi though. As much as I think Orochi needs more powerful people, I think Benkei is better with the good guys.

When I first saw the picture of him looking at Sakon and Guan Ping's swords, I knew they were going to use the story of him collecting 999 swords. I really didn't know what to expect from Koei's incarnation of Benkei. But seeing as I was pleased with Yoshitsune, I knew Benkei wouldn't disappoint. He's alot different of the Benkei of Genji: Dawn of the Samurai. He's more like Benkei from Okami. It's good to see him part of the main cast. Can't wait to see how he plays. I hope he gets a chance to take on Lu Bu

Can't imagine that. It looks like he has different weapons in his "toolbox". On the scans you see the giant fist, a cannon and something like a giant drill. So the backpack seems pretty much to be there just as part of the costume. |

benkei is a character from genji.i already play genji finish.benkei in genji use a large pole blade similar to guan yu.in musou orochi z,hopefully his moveset is good. |

I totally agree with you. He should use one of the weapons in conjunction with his big fist with every charge attack anyways, He seems more of a good guy. He is friends with Minamoto anyway, so he probably good. On the other hand that sexy new girl with the long sleeves seems more evil than good.  I cant wait for the new girl to be revealed.

Benkei is far too cute to hang out with an ugly lug like Meng Huo.  His fist is so powerful and seducingly strong. I love it. Cant wait to play with him.

hmmmm....collecting weapons, huh? assume that weapons are not good... antagonists in WO(for the exception of the unpredictable kotaro fuuma) always seek for 'unrightful' things such as fights(lu bu,keiji), treasure(dongzhuo), da ji(affection from orochi) etc etc.. while protagonists fight for justice, honour, love and bla bla bla... so i think benkei would be a bad guy, but then switches allegiances once he is convinced to do so by(who else?) yoshitsune no minamoto.. |

Just gave you some hints on writing English ^.^ He looks absolutely like I wanted to. Samurai armor, white headscarf. Though I'm a bit disappointed by his weapon. I didn't know people in the Heian period had such strange weapons... (sarcasm). I don't care if he is fighting with Orochi. We need more playable guys to fight anyways so I'm happy with it. I wouldn't care if he is fighting with the good guys neither. |

I think we don't know actually, Wei-Yan, it looks like it's his "big fist canon" seeing the screenshots, but not sure... :s Because he wears some others weapons on his back. |

Well the love of collecting stuff doesn't always put someone on the bad side...Okuni and Goemon are gold-diggers but they are still on the good side; and collecting weapons seems roughly equivalent. |
