All right, here we have Ali Al-Saachez, murderer, pilot extraordinary, with rugged handsome look and nasty streak, who is a warmonger and thrives joy only in war. Also, he can own Gundams in lesser suits and is cunning on his own. So, what is your opinion on this guy? |

He's an amazing villain. He's a little different from most Gundam villains who are either "trying to change the world" with bad methods, or "lets exterminate another race"..he's just so..Celestial Whatever.  As long as he's employed, he doesn't care.But the fanboys annoy the hell out of me, and I can't like the character. As much as I want to..he's just too..much of an asshole. An unlikable asshole. Well I've only been following the series on sci fi so I'm restricted to his season 1 appearances so far but I'm rather fond of him. He's not my favorite character (Graham, Tieria) but he's certainly interesting to have around and his complete evilness is rather amusing at times. Its always fun to see what kind of crazy crap he's gonna cause next. |

His JPN VA is Fujiwara Keiji, who also voiced Holland Novak from Eureka Seven and Axel from kingdom hearts....and apparently the joker in the japanese dub of The Dark Knight(epic win)....on a side note i just love what he did to Micheal Trinity, as if getting shot dead wasn't bad enough he goes on and just steals the Zwei. Now that is funny

In all honesty, Ali Al Saachez was the only worthwhile villain in Gundam 00. Graham Aker was utterly wasted in season 2 and Ribbons Almark was overconfident and useless. Ali Al usually got the job done and he had an impressive kill count of characters by the time the series ended. Though I agree with this statement, I think Ali should have died in Season 1. His reappearance in Season 2 just left a bad taste in my mouth. It meant that Neil Dylandy died in vain. He was excellent in Season 1, but he should have bowed out then to let Graham and Ribbons get some more cockpit time. And when it comes to insane MS pilots in 00, Gundam Meister Fon Spaak definitely takes the cake. |

As fascinating as Fon Spaak is he is unfortunately only a manga character in the 00 series. It would be nice to get a mini series of sorts for his series but as it is he is not as well known as the 00 characters from the anime.
In my opinion that's one of the many reasons Ali Al is a good villain. Killing off main protagonists (and antagonists in some cases) and surviving the encounter instantly makes a villain more respectable. It also makes them more threatening. Plus it gave further character development to Setsuna and Tieria Erde.
It isn't really the fact that he should have died in season 1 that caused a problem in season 2. The problem was that they introduced too many villains/antagonists in season 2. We could have done without having to see Ribbons Almark's army of lackeys for most of season 2 of 00. The A Laws alone added enough new villains to season 2 so we honestly did not need anymore. If they refrained from having generic Innovators pop up every few episodes they could have easily given Ribbons and Graham Aker more cockpit time without having to axe off Ali Al. |

I think he was an excellent villain and hope he makes it in DW: Gundam 4. I don't love his character (how could anyone?) but I would love to kill him in a sequel! |

I loved Ali. He was one of the few likable characters in Gundam 00. I cheered when he killed Lockon and the Trinity brothers, and was happy to see Zwei get resurrected in the form of Arche. I knew he was going to die, but was disappointed by the lameness of it. Don't get me wrong, he's an unrepentant sociopathic murderer, but damned if he wasn't infinitely more entertaining than the show's "heroes". I'm hoping he makes it into GM4 since he got a Gundam with a lot of melee options, and it'd just be cool to have him around in general. |

Tbh I don't have any problem if he survived season 2. In fact, I was sad when he died.  At least kill another one or two meisters.I like the way he killed Trinity brothers (I lol-ed) and how he held his own while fighting in a lesser mobile suit. The way he played dumb with Saji's sister and finally revealed himself in the car made me lol hard.  He's badass, unpretentious, and Chuck Norris in his own way. And definitely my favourite character in the series. It's strange that I don't hate that guy at all. XD |

Hes a better villain than freakin Graham and Ribbons. I dont get how some guy who basically just sits there poking Setsuna with a stick for 50 episodes gets in as DLC over the guy whos arguably the single most important villain in the show |

Then again they killed Graham as a character in season 2 and Ribbons is the most disappointing villain Gundam has ever had, so Ali was the only viable choice to begin with (note: they didn't pull hax on him either like they did with Ribbons). But, fanboy faves differ from country to country. |

Ribbons was a terrible villain. Just like Mr. Bushido in Season 2 he was given so much build up and was dropped in a single fight. I think the biggest problem Ribbons had as a villain was just how overconfident he was. Spoiler: click to toggle Ribbons flat out failed to accomplish and maintain his goals. He pulled off a rather nice move by manipulating the events of season 1 but by the middle of season 2 it was clear that Ribbons had no hope of keeping things together. Heck when you look at it Rau was a far better villain because he was literally mere seconds away from accomplishing his goals. Rau of course was a seed villain so he is not really relevant here. Having watched and finished the entirety of the 00 TV series, yeah I always felt Graham was a waste. In the midst of every major event that happened, most of the time he just stood on the sidelines like an ass. Ribbons' goal was sound enough, but yeah when he finally did get into action it was disappointing. Even my Dad, who was always in the room whenever I watched 00, hated Ribbons' overconfident and egotistical voice. |
