Let me tell you about a story...

Andy was at first a boy, living in the era of war. Through ambitions, hard work, cunningness and training, he rose from his ranks in the military, from the lowest into eventually the highest there is, the best there is, the most feared soldier known at the age. He is well praised, has high reputation, everyone thinks he's awesome.

Then one day, while visiting a bank... terrorists surrounded the bank with a bomb planted inside. The terrorists didn't know that Andy was inside, he was forced to be the hostage as he didn't have his gun or any of his toys, while he is a capable martial artist, going solo against men with many guns is a bad idea.

In order to make their threat seems more apparent, these terrorists decided to shoot someone's head at random. That random person happens to be Andy. So he died.

Now, judging on this story... Do you think that Andy, for having such a great achievement on his life, and being considered awesome by many... to die with a death like this... Is it shameful and humiliating for someone of his caliber? Do you think that this kind of death will become one of his CONS factor? One that will deduct his point of awesome?

Please state your reason behind your answer. Thank you.

No, never.

What could he do in the situation, he was unarmed, he had no way of protecting himself, if he was armed, he could cause harm to the ones around him. Life isn;t like the movies, for all we know, if he was armed and found out, he would have been the first to die anyways.

There's nothing that you can do about getting shot, and if the robbers decide to shoot somebody at random then well. Andy would probably have a lot of points of awesome.

Depends on how you perceive it. It's not like anything we say will put down any possible shame someone may have in such a case.

Shame comes after doing messed up things in the real world and only weak people feel humiliated. You have control over those.

No matter what the circumstances of andy getting shot, there shouldn't be any more or any less criticism on him, not even shamefulness or humiliation. It is what it is and couldn't be helped unless he was psychic. We won't know if he feels humiliated, but does it even matter if he was? The more important issue is the fact that he DIED, who gives a flying duck about critiquing his reputation over it? It would be cruel to look down on a deceased person in ANY way because of the way they died.

I think it's shameful and humiliating for grown men to take hostages in the first place. Not being a hostage. There is no helping that. Although Andy was a moron for not telling his captors who he was.
