I love Yuri (Lowenthal, not the YURI you might be thinking of), but his fighting shouts as Zhang He in WO2 is IRRITATING.

HYA HYA HYA HYA HYA HYA HYA HYA ...

Well... I think his shouts sounded rather, adorable.. haha
Yuri HIMSELF is adorable! And hot! *swoon*
Well, Yuri's many talents are adorable! :D

As much as I like certain characters' clothing... I simply adore Hideyoshi Hashiba's second outfit in SW:XL. A monkey mask, fluffy brown pants, a wrapped cloth around his waist bearing the Toyotomi crest and especially his gourd drink strapped as well! Adorkable! xD

As much as peons' voices are awkward.. I do enjoy hearing them in SW2 being KO'd.. >.>

And if I should add, only SW:XL only had an archive, not SW though. :x

Oh, I adore Yuri as well. Found him doing a voice in Rogue Galaxy (a game I'm playing on the side), as Steve the polite and adorable robot. I didn't hear it right off the bat, but he sounds like a straighter but more proper Zhang He (minus the zomg eccentric vibe). If Rogue Galaxy didn't have the cast of voice actors it did (Steve Blum, Robert Klein is voicing a kitty named Fox Begarde(?), which strikes me as hilarious as he used to do DW4 Lu Meng/SW1 Ieyasu... good to hear him again), then this game would seriously destroy me.

I, too, adore Yuri. He makes Zhang He, in general, tolerable. As frightening as he is, at least he has Yuri on his side. Even with the annoying HYAHYAHYA

I think pretty much everyone nailed the basics but some specifics I like:

Kinda goes along with the whole "moveset" fitting the character's personality, I just LOVE how you can float with Nobunaga in his defensive stance. I used to amuse myself with that all the time when I first found out about it. That, and his officer block is pretty amazing too.

Alternate outfits anyone? Maybe not so much in the WO series, but in the series in general, geez I'd pratically change outfits like every other battle just becuase they were awesome. 8D

And the quotes between certain characters and the fact that every character has a distinct facial design are two awesome little things as well. <3

In all of the warriors games, the moaning sounds made when the female characters are fighting :shifty:
LOL

I love the cheering/morale screams when you kill an officer or take a base in DW6. Also with how they stand upright when out of the action.

I like adjusting the camera to get a better close up of ally officers. I do this in Warriors Orochi 2 alot when I am next to Quan who is on the horse just sitting there. I move around on the map until the camera completely zooms onto his face lol.

Adjusting the camera around is fun to play with to zoom in on other officers, if you put it that way... *sweatdrop*

Well... I've grown fond of hearing the foghorn sound effect whenever a mission pops up in the Sengoku Musou games.. It gets into your head instantly. :o

Now that you mentioned that, it has popped in my head again just this moment. I remember that foghorn sound quite well.

I think one the thing that always get stuck in the back of my mind is how they take two guy friends and turn into more then just buddies with them "play fighting" with each other. Some perfect example are this.

*hears foghorn as well*

The "swish, swish, swish" sounds your character makes when he/she moves through the tall grass :XD and other subtle changes in sounds when running on different terrains.

Character grunts have already been mentioned, but I must agree. WO Hanzo --> wtf?

Favorite detail? Probably the grunts the character makes when they attack, kinda cool for one.

The SW foghorn..LOL, whenever I see a mission onscreen, it kinda rings in my head when I'm not playing SW2 :XD

Also, Orochi :XD I just love to hear hia grunts when he fight :XD English is quite cool, and the Japanese one sounds like he's being punched in the nether-regions o_O

I do love those sounds myself especially the pitter patter sound of the feet as they are running on the ground and the clunking sound of the horse's hooves as well. That is like music to my ears!

I forgot about the horse hooves! I love that rythmic clickety-clacking! :XD

I also like the scared sounds the enemy peons make when they retreat and the way they "run away" yet somehow move at the same speed. They look absolutely ridiculous and out of place on a battlefield :XD

It's funny because one hit to an enemy peon with the sword makes the rest of them run away yelling "Retreat!" I laugh at that all the time then I just mock them yelling "Retreat!" as well.

What I find interesting though, is how they all look alike aside the color of their uniforms, talk about your lack of creativity.

I like to snipe every last one of them :ph43r: That's one little detail I appreciate, their slow retreat ... it seems designed especially for excessive slaughtering :shifty:

I love the way Koei made Cao Pi so heartless, but really sweet when he's around Zhen Ji. :XD

It's that "little detail" that gets me into them :)

Their relationship is seriously well balanced. They're BOTH so snarky to everyone else but have soft spots for one another, even though they have trouble showing it sometimes. It's really adorable and borderline TOO sweet without going over that line.

Noh and Nobunaga while still made of AWESOME (he's one of the few husbands who'se wife plays a major role in HIS OWN mouso and not just in her version of it) just doesn't have that same sort of sweetness. Passion yes, but you never get the impression they give each other butterflies.

Aww, you make it sound so true (actually it is :P )

There's also the bits how Xiao Qiao gets really mad when someone picks on Zhou Yu. That's pure gold :ph43r:

I'll second that, they all have unique models that actually do stand out. Such as the "batman" helmed generics. xD

Speaking of which, in SM2:Empires, a certain few generic officers have a change of voice which does not sound the same as the default regular generic officers' voices, which I find rather humorous. Also, a few "Noble" generic officers had a "goofy" CAW voice. Most notably Ashikaga Yoshiaki.

Recently I been playing as Zhuge Liang in DW6 which he is alot of fun. I have noticed that everytime he fights, he always has left hand behind his back while using his right hand to whack his fan around being all calm about it. This is one little detail I have notice recently that I like when it comes to Zhuge Liang. ^^

All mine are DW5 related because the things I mention aren't in WO/2 and I haven't played any others. :P

  • In Battle of the Wu Territory, there's this one spot, where the light shines through the trees. I just loved that.
  • Wu Territory again. By one of the fortresses, there is a bridge and if you turned the music off, you can hear the water.
  • The lighting in Battle of He Fei was nice. In the southern parts of that map--where Xu Huang appears, if you back up enough you can see the sun.

And random things like jumping off of castle walls, and destroying random junk like carts and such. That's always fun.

For me, the detail of the stages. Some of the stages have beautiful backgrounds and of course the fact that even tho they see there comrades getting killed, they still try and fight you even tho the rest of there group has already ran away. Its always fun to get that extra kill

HYA HYA HYA HYA HYA HYA HYA HYA ...

I can't stand Zhang He voice in DW6. I don't think it's Lowenthal, who would be way better or whoever did it in DW5.

One of my favorite quotes is Ma Chao's ignore taunt from DW5: Empires:
"Yeah, yeah, right!" A funny quote from a serious character!

I like how certain character have had consistent voices since DW4... Sun Quan, Zhuge Liang... okay, they might be the only ones.
But if they ever got replaced, I'd be furious!

I always noticed the JP voices are ALWAYS identical from one game to the next... shame the Western version can't manage the same.

A little detail I've always liked is the representation of the three kingdoms. Wei= Phoenix, Shu= Dragon, Wu= Tiger. Although, this doesn't seem as prevalent in 6 because I don't recall seeing it in the opening movie, but I noticed they are present in the Strikeforce openings! Woot!

Yes! Also in DW5:XL when playing Destiny mode, I like how he greets us "Nice to meet you!".... when I first heard that I was like  ....

Also the swinging sound of the weapon, "swoosh swoosh". It made me feel the character using the weapon is waoo so strong! I've noticed them the most when your character dies and others still attacking.
