Nah, kunoichi is a sanada ninja, while Kaihime is A hojo/toyotmi Samurai, they are comepletely diferent. |

Breaking News, Everyone look here!!!!!! i just emailed Gk Bowes and she replied saying " As Far as I know, Kunoichi from 1 is returning in 3, and i will be voicing her" if you don't believe me then you can go ahead and email her yourselves |

I believe he meant within who she claims to be voice acting, not the character Kunoichi...  Though, I wouldn't have thought that to begin with, with that latest post though...interesting  perhaps just in the side game thing though. |

Actually thats really interesting, well thats good, i love kunoichi, but i still wont let my hopes get too high up for that, i dont want to be overly dissapointed. |

exact same as me then. Kunoichi was my 2nd fav char (just after Yukimura  ) in SW1, so would love if she were to come back.But really, don't have my hopes up no matter what is said unless official from Koei. I don't have my hopes up for the game in general, I expect it will likely be good, but I really don't cre currently, as I don't want to

Im sorry, but I didnt like Kunoichi.I hope they dont bring her back, if they do its ok. I hated how Kunoichi is referenced with Kaihime when there nothing alike.Kaihime is a wayyyyyyyyy better character by far.

Thats a pretty bold statement to say as you have only seen one picture of her and a 7 second clip of her, you dont know her personality in-game and you dont know how she will play out, also you dont know anything about the (supposed) SW3 kunoichi who could be diferent and you might like her. |

Yea, its bold.But I can just tell in general I will like Kaihime, and I will probably like her more then Kunoichi. Its not so much that I dont like her character, its more of someone else's spot could be in the game instead of her who has more value. I possibly could like this ''new'' kunoichi, at the same time I just dont like the idea of one fictional character in a whole slot of historical people  Sorry dont wanna offend.I just wouldnt want her back.

As some people mentioned when they thought the teaser Kaihime was potentially Kunoichi, even if Kunoichi from the first game came back, she may be named differently, as in actually given a name. and by that I do mean a real persons name and not some random name

And i dont like that kaihime stole the Hojo spot for SW3, really in contrast, kunoichi actually makes up for something in my eyes.. Member of the sanada ten braves, or kunoichi Hojo clan member or kaihime. I much rather have a hojo than kaihime, and the only member of the brave that i would like to see is sarutobi sasuke but i might not like him, but i already like kunoichi. |

I'm not going to get my hopes up, but i do wish that they would bring kunoichi back. I don't hate nene, but i much preffer kunoichi to her. She was around first and she is a real kunoichi not like nene who i feel is fake and the fact that she can act like a ninja seems more fictional then kunoichi not being a 'real historic character'. If they do bring her back i hope that she will remain by the name kunoichi and keep her moveset which nene stole. Nene should be the one to change, she is supposed to be married to hideyoshi, nothing in her history says she is a ninja or a kunoichi so why should she dress like a brat and take away my favourite characters identity. (I hope kaihime destroys her)I'm also glad that kaihime didn't turn out to be kunoichi like some people had assumed, because i wouldn't have liked it if koei had made kunoichi into some one like that.

I do hope Kunoichi does return she was the only character in SW1 that i bothered to level up, but wen i played WO i loved Nene, i find her moveset imrpoved than Kunoichis but prefer the character Kunoichi more. So Nene moveset +Kunoichi character = My favourie character |

If the new character is Yukinaga Konishi, maybe Kunoichi will come back as Yukinaga's sister, Maria Konishi who was also speculated to be a Kunoichi. She was also a Kunoichi body guard in Samurai Warriors 2 along with Kaihime and look where Princess Kai popped out from. But I highly doubt this. Anyway Maria was a devoted christian. I never heard of a Christian female ninja before. (lol I joke.)  Koei should consider that Kunoichi would be renamed to Anayama Kosuke. A member of the ten Sanada Braves who "he" is considered to be a female ninja. Anayama appeared in an Anime and Manga called Samurai Deeper Kyo as a female Kunoichi who belonged to the Sanada Clan and portrayed as Yukimura Sanada's female double. I suggest for Koei to renamed Kunoichi to Anayama Kouske and give her a proper name. After all Anayama is a historical character who would much more fit the spot than Chiyome Mochizuki as Anayama has stronger connections to the Sanada clan (*cough* apart of the Sanada Braves *cough*) Anayama is much more historically acurate to Kunoichi's character. Even if he might be considered female, there could always be a sex change. I mean hey, look how Sanzang Fashi came out!

But chiyome would be better coz she could appear with shingen and i think chiyome was like the founder of some sort of kunoichi thing and i justreally want chiyome in more than anayama. |

Chiyome passed control of her training school to Kosuke Anayama before she vanished in history. I don't know if Kunoichi will appear as Chiyome since in Samurai Warriors 1 Koei roughly implied that she was one of the kunoichi trained by Chiyome. It wouldn't make sense if Kunoichi appear as Chiyome since they were already described as two separate characters. Chiyome can be included to replace Kunoichi. She wont be our previous Kunoichi or have her personality but I would like to see Chiyome in SW3. |

IMO they either bring back kunoichi as just plain old kunoichi with no historical name or they don't bring her back at all. Kunoichi just wouldn't be the same if koei suddenly gave her a name, i don't see why some of you are so obsessed with having everything be historicly accurate, it's JUST a game. Kunoichi was far better in yukimura's SW1 story then mitsunari and the friendship gang in SW2.

Part of me agrees with you, but if given the name of 1 of the Sanada Braves (even though all were male, Kosuke could still be made the name I guess), then it could be the EXACT same Kunoichi, simply being named. Though, I still would prefer just Kunoichi returning, but chances of that are like none. I definatly agree I liked his interactions with Kunoichi more, as, well, it was not all friendship and honour. |

Eep, I going have to stop you guys there and tell you that the English wikipedia is wholly inaccurate when it comes to certain historical subjects this one included. Kosuke Anayama is unfortunately not real. He, along with the other 10 Braves, are fictional characters from a book written over 100 years after the fact. There's also the matter Chiyome may or may have not existed and is also likely a popular tale that spread during the same time period. As for Kunoichi returning, I don't think it's ever going to happen. Not only has the voice actress's website updated to reflect as such, I think that from the beginning she was meant to be a one-shot, throwaway character. I kind of feel like if they really wanted her to stay, they would have named/based her off of someone real so as to have more cool historical material to pull from to play around with. There's only so much you can do with an original character without making them feel like a Mary Sue/Gary Stu. And...I know I'm probably going to get some hate for saying this in this thread, but I like Nene better overall. She has a wider range of relationships to play off of than Kunoichi ever did really. Not to mention she'll probably have some funny conversations with Kato in 3. |

i think it's time to lock and archive this thread. the information which started the thread has proven to be incorrect, and it's pretty much turned into a speculation/love/hate Kunoichi thread. she has her own topic where this could be discussed. on a side note, i'd love to see the documentation from Zhen Ji about Kunoichi being Chiyome's student, as stated in SW1? i have been playing said game for years, and have never heard such. the only reference to Lady Chiyome in the series that i know of, is the bodyguard Chiyojo Mochizuki. |
