Did Koei Over Do It?

Okay now,Post your thoughts on what you think if or why this game is/isnt Overdone. Center most of your thoughts on Overall Gameplay!

My Opinion...

I Voted Yes.
The Gameplay is Absolutely Terrific in my Opinion. The Soundtrack are just Remixed DW6 Soundtracks. The Overall Story for Multi Raid is Confusing.I mean,Chinese Warrios Turning into Uber Sayains and fighting like Crazy!?Thats Kindof Overdone in my eyes

This is way too broad a question. Overdo Strikeforce in what way? Presentation? Difficulty? Gameplay? Character design? Music? To have just Yes and No as answers is too limiting as well since people may think yes for some parts and no for others.

Although I haven't played the actual game, I have played the demo and some of the combos can be a bit over the top, in a good way of course. So, I vote yes.
Disregard everything in the post above.

I voted no, since there's no reason why it would be overdone. Just because you think something is overdone, doesn't make it a fact.
This is my signature... don't you like it?

Hell no!

Generally speaking, of course. Seraphil brings up a good point though, so to expand on that a bit further with his questions:

Did KOEI over do Strikeforce ...

- Presentation?: Nope, the game looks polished from the demo I've played to the full release videos shared with us via YouTube

- Difficulty?: If there's anything overdone, it would be the AI on higher levels. I don't mind it, though I haven't played it myself

- Gameplay?: Absolutely not. The combo system and aerial combat is awesome. There are lots of other aspects that make this one of the best KOEI titles yet.

- Character design?: Only naked Diao Chan ...

- Music?: Nope, one of the best soudtracks in a KOEI game yet

This, of course, is entirely my opinion. Others may disagree ^_^

I voted no, because i think all aspects of the game are truly awesome, bar the cheating AI and Diao Chan's Fury form. :XD

On a broad subject, no, no it's not overdone at all in my opinion. Koei needed a different game and they offered it, so I really can't complain. I dread to see how the cheating AI will be on the later levels, but for now, I think it's just something that I can learn to get over, eventually.

Koei needs to push themselves harder in the future... if they showed just as much enthusiasm with this game as they did with others, then maybe DW6 wouldn't have been so incomplete (a step in the right direction, but at the same time, a few steps back... but they're slowly getting the groove of things).

LIES! Its perfect!

Anyways, no they didnt, the game is actually living up to my hype, might offer a lot of replayability.

My only concerns would be that:
a) Its not casual friendly, im not too good with dash/jump/weapon and advances combos thing.

b)The apparently cheating difficulty, but hey! Ninja Gaiden does that too and its fun.

It stops being fun when every single officer activates Hyper mode for minutes at a time. This also renders 99% of the moves in the game useless, as they're simply not safe if the enemy isn't going to stagger.

At this point I'd have to rank Zhou Yu's staff as a top-tier weapon simply because it becomes the only safe way to fight officers later in the game where they never get staggered by anything. Also, each ball from the staff's special move has a chance of causing a status ailment, meaning you're getting about 8 chances to activate an element per special. You can do up to 5 before touching the ground, meaning that's roughly 40 chances to poison someone. This also makes any character with a high rank in staves a high-tier character, since they'll do more damage per special. Unless another move is found that rivals the safety and damage/element activation of Zhou Yu's elemental balls, I'd have to rank any character bad with staves as a low tier at this point.

Unfortunately, this kills the fun of the game, as you're obligated to spam a handful of moves simply because they're safe. I understand that this was probably done to prevent four players from comboing an enemy to death, but they should have put some consideration for the solo gamers in, since there seems to be no solo handicap whatsoever besides a possible decrease in health and defense.

The game is great fun at the beginning when you're allowed to experiment with moves and create your favorite combination of weapons, but quickly drifts into frustration when nothing staggers the officers anymore. Hyper mode should be reserved for unique officers like Lu Bu, not every single one. It just cheapens the experience, and makes you feel dirty for spamming the same move to win when in reality, that's the only practical option. All of the great strides they took to create a new combo system go to waste, since there's simply too much risk involved in doing a long combo when the enemy can simply musou out every single time, and there's no limit to the amount of musou attacks that they can do.

This is the only aspect of the game that I feel was overdone, but unfortunately, it's a big one.

I think koei actually made something absolutely wonderful this time, but some AIs are really tough to beat, especially on awakening but otherwise, I think it's awesome.

No i do not think so. This is what Koei needed to think of in DW6. Some of these features such as secondary weapons (and the awesome return of 4th and 5th weapons and the decloning of cloned weapons) and awakening forms (with limitations) would have been cool to see in DW6!
Currently Playing:
DW: Strikeforce - Maxing out Huang Zhong and Lu Xun. Hooray for repetitive grinding...
Monster Hunter Freedom Unite - Defeating every quest. Curse you completionism!!!
WO2 (Ps2) - TRYING to unlock Orochi Z. I do not have that kind of patience... darn proficiency levels

Games I want:
WO2 (PSP) - I just want to play as Sanzang and Benkei. Go sleeves of doom!!!
Dissidia: Final Fantasy - anyone vs. Sephiroth = Cool!

well the game isnt out in america yet, so i cant offer a full opinion on it... but from what i've seen... no, i dont think its overdone... why would it be?

koei did something different, and its good... to be honest, it isnt much different in terms of power, i mean after warriors orochi, transformations dont seem too much of a stretch...

I voted no. If this was a main entry in the series and not a spin-off I might feel differently, but I really like how it plays, and it's a nice change of pace. Some features like having secondary weapons, the enhanced RPG elements, and other improvements I hope end up carried over into the main series.

I really don't see anything wrong with what Koei did.

The gameplay is much more of a challenge and is much more extreme than before (in my opinion). I like how they added in things like fury and float (although float isn't really that useful). :P

Well, based off the final Yellow Turban mission alone, I want to say the difficulty was overdone just a tad bit. Although I guess that was to be expected since this game seems designed for 4 players in mind. Which wouldn't be a problem, except in my area there are maybe 2-3 copies of any Warriors game shipped here.
incredibly lame acronym

To be honest, I almost gave up on the game during the early stages when I had to battle against Lubu and that tiger (Hu Lao Gate?). After a few hours it wasnt so hard after all and especially now that my characters are maxed and with Chi's help, the game is fun and manageable.

So I guess Koei did a good job. A change is good and to have all these fancy moves and weapon combos, i have to say it's pretty amazing to have em all on a PSP.

Not sure if i started off with DW 3 or 4, but I always hoped they eventually come up with a DW without the timer. lol

of course they didnt over do it! They hit number 1 in the PSP chart and is on display in many places plus a Koei game is actually getting good ratings for once! Besides you cant OVER do a game, the better you make it the better it becomes, if by over do you mean as in the Dynasty warriors flying and stuff lol, nah it just makes it more entertaining to play
