Here's a script of the intermission events found in Warriors Orochi 2. I know I haven't been here for quite some time now, but I still want to contribute at least something to this amazing forum. Like in the first WO game, plenty of characters will make non-canon appearances in most of these scenes, so please tell me if I missed any one of them here, okay? Well, here we go! ^_^

Warriors Orochi 2 Story Guide

Shu Story Mode

Chapter 1 - Battle of Shi Ting

Narrator: Following the death of the Serpent King, Orochi, the chaos that plagued the land seemed to have subsided. However, this newfound peace was not destined to last for long. The remnants of Orochi's army refused to admit defeat, and the forces of Lu Bu, Dong Zhuo and Masamune Date also refused to surrender. Cao Cao of Wei moved to raise troops as well. These various opposing forces raged like a violent tornado, once again bringing chaos to the land. This storm threatened to engulf Liu Bei and the Shu Kingdom, which had been living its days in peace...

Prelude Scene

Ieyasu Tokugawa: I never thought the day would come when I could speak with the great Lord Liu Bei, one of the heroes of history.

Yoshimoto Imagawa: He has shown true nobility in his dealings with me also.

Liu Bei: The honor is all mine. This opportunity is one which must not be wasted.

Zhuge Liang: My lord, we have ascertained the whereabouts of Da Ji. Since Orochi's death, it appears she has been hiding in Shi Ting.

Liu Bei: Hmm... If we leave her be, she could bring about untold chaos and suffering. I will lead a force to hunt her down. Zhuge Liang, can I ask you to take care of things here? I owe you all for what you did for me during the war against Orochi. It is now my turn to repay that debt.

Zhuge Liang: Very well, my lord. Leave defense of our main camp to me. I will be waiting for news of your glorious victory.

Aftermath Scene

Liu Bei: Thank you for your assistance. My name is Liu Bei. May I inquire as to whom you might be?

Taigong Wang: How very polite of you. I am Taigong Wang, and I am here seeking Da Ji. I had hoped to capture her while she was preoccupied with you... But your skill exceeded my expectations, and she escaped. Hehe, I suppose I underestimated you.

Random Character Comment:
Zhang Fei: We are not yours to use as bait! Come here, and I'll show you just how dangerous this bait can be!
Ma Chao: You deceitful swine! You will pay for your unjustified arrogance!
Wei Yan: I... smash... you...
Guan Ping: To use our unsuspecting lord as bait... No matter how sure you were of success, it is difficult to forgive such recklessness!
Sun Shang Xiang: What are you saying?! How could you use my husband like that?!
Himiko: That's so mean... Using him like that... You're a monster!
Yukimura Sanada: You baited Da Ji with the life of Lord Liu Bei...? You must never try such a plan again!
Ina: That is simply improper! Lord Liu Bei's life is not yours to play with!
Ginchiyo Tachibana: To use Lord Liu Bei as bait to trap Da Ji? That is simply wrong.
Kanetsugu Naoe: Never have I witnessed a more dishonorable display. You shame us all with your disregard for human life!
Nene: You naught, naughty boy! That was a very dangerous thing you did!
Musashi Miyamoto: Hey! That's a man's life you're playing with, y'know!
Toshiie Maeda: You mean you used Liu Bei as bait?! You'll pay for that, believe me!
Gracia: You tried to use him! That's so sad it makes me want to cry.

Liu Bei: Calm yourself. She may have gotten away from us, but victory was ours. Let us be content with that for the moment. Master Taigong, it appears we share the same goal. Shall we join forces to achieve it?

Taigong Wang: I cannot refuse such a heartfelt plea. General Liu Bei, I will accompany you.

Zuo Ci: I will join you as well, Liu Bei. This man possesses great talent, but still needs to learn the art of finesse.

Chapter 2 - Battle of Saika

Narrator: After a hard battle, Liu Bei and his forces managed to defeat the combined forces of Da Ji and Dong Zhuo, but were unable to capture Da Ji herself. However, Liu Bei did manage to welcome the tactical and military genius of Taigong Wang to his ranks. As a mystic, however, Taigong Wang doubted the abilities of mere mortals, and saw Liu Bei and the others merely as pawns in his goals of capturing Da Ji. Meanwhile, Da Ji was working on a plan of her own, secretly plotting behind the scenes...

Prelude Scene

Zuo Ci: My friends, I am afraid I have some bad news. It appears Da Ji has joined forces with Masamune.

Liu Bei: Masamune...? As I recall, he was part of Orochi's army...

Random Character Comment:
Zhuge Liang: Lord Masamune... He used to be one of Orochi's most trusted generals. It seems he is a lost soul...
Sima Yi: So that little fool is still chasing Orochi's shadow.
Dong Zhuo: That squeaky little brat who used to serve Orochi? He obviously hasn't had enough yet.
Kunoichi: Masamune Date, former employee of the Serpent King, currently on a quest to become the most annoying little tyrant in the land.
Magoichi Saika: Masamune... How could he join up with Da Ji? That's not like him.
Hideyoshi Toyotomi: Masamune's a smart man, but there is a simplicity about him that attracts him to evil...
Yoshimoto Imagawa: So they have found their perfect partners. If only I could find my perfect partner for kemari...
Ieyasu Tokugawa: Poor Masamune... The dragon finds himself crawling beneath the ground like a worm.

Taigong Wang: Poisoned by Orochi's wiles... It seems he still hasn't cleansed himself of that pollution. General, we must put a stop to this unholy alliance. Da Ji poses a threat to us all.

Ieyasu Tokugawa: Lord Liu Bei, I know young Masamune well. Please allow me to talk to him first.

Liu Bei: Thank you, Ieyasu. Speak to him, and convince him to leave Da Ji.

Aftermath Scene

First Part

Ieyasu Tokugawa: I have failed... I could not convince Masamune, or even find any traces of Da Ji.

Taigong Wang: What a waste of time! ...Wait a minute... perhaps Da Ji wanted us to fight Masamune... Which means, all she wanted was to buy time. In which case, we must make sure to catch that fox quickly.

Zhao Yun: Lord Zhuge Liang said the same thing. Every second counts!

Wei Yan: I... fight... with you...

Liu Bei: Thank you. I will certainly rely on you. As soon as preparations are made, we will begin our search for Da Ji.

Second Part

Zuo Ci: At a loss, are you? This is unusual...

Taigong Wang: I am ashamed to admit it, but I cannot read what Da Ji will do next. Hehe, this human factor is messing everything up.

Zuo Ci: Da Ji has learnt from her time working with and against people. She has developed a human cunning. The time will come when you too will come to understand them. Then, you will know what to do.

Chapter 3 - Battle of Nagashino

Narrator: At the request of Liu Bei, Ieyasu Tokugawa defeated the Date Army, but failed in his attempt to capture Masamune. In addition, Da Ji, rumored to have been traveling with Masamune, was nowhere to be found. Everything was playing out according to Da Ji's plan. Da Ji used the battle between Masamune and the Shu Army to buy herself valuable time to further her mysterious plan. The Shu Army found itself at a major disadvantage due to Da Ji's deception. To make matters worse, they soon found themselves being stalked by one of the deadliest figures known to man...

Prelude Scene

Zhang Fei: Brother! That brute Lu Bu is on his way here!

Liu Bei: Unfortunate timing... We need to hunt Da Ji, but his appearance will make that difficult.

Guan Yu: Leave it to me, brother. I will take care of this thuggish marauder.

Zhang Fei: Wait just a minute! I'm the one who saw him coming. Lu Bu is mine!

Random Character Comment:
Zhao Yun: Where most men would cower in fear of Lu Bu's name, these men grow braver... I suppose such is to be expected from Lord Liu Bei's brothers!
Huang Zhong: Even the mighty Lu Bu cannot strike fear into their hearts. Remarkable...
Guan Ping: They seem almost... excited to face Lu Bu. I am proud to call such a man my father.
Xing Cai: Father... You almost seem pleased at the thought of fighting Lu Bu.
Dian Wei: These two don't even bat an eyelash going up against Lu Bu... Now that's tough.
Cao Cao: Most men would tremble at the mention of Lu Bu, but you two quarrel over who will face him. Most impressive.
Zhang Liao: Those two actually yearn for the chance to fight Lu Bu! Looks like we will need Liu Bei to make an executive decision.
Xu Huang: To fight a strong opponent is the only way to truly test how strong one is. I understand how those two feel.
Pang De: To compete for the privilege of battle... such is the way of the warrior.
Taishi Ci: To rush to face that demon Lu Bu? Those two are true warriors.
Lu Meng: What courage! Even the demon Lu Bu has met his match with these two.
Huang Gai: With the honor of defeating Lu Bu at stake, neither one is willing to back down.
Zuo Ci: Very few would face Lu Bu so bravely. Liu Bei is a lucky man indeed to be defended by such warriors.
Himiko: And me, and me! I want to get Lu Bu too!
Keiji Maeda: Ha! Poor Lu Bu. If only he knew what he was gettin' himself for...
Kenshin Uesugi: These men are true warriors. Nothing pleases them more than the chance to fight the greatest.
Tadakatsu Honda: Most men would run in fear at the name of Lu Bu, but these two argue over who gets to fight him. True warriors indeed.
Mitsunari Ishida: We'd better keep a muzzle on them until we get them near Lu Bu.
Yoshihiro Shimazu: This sounds like a gamble I want to be a part of. Count me in.
Motochika Chosokabe: This is courage indeed - you are exemplars to us all.

Taigong Wang: Hehe... There is no time for indecision. General, make your choice before the enemy is upon us.

Liu Bei: Hmm... This time, I will fight with Zhang Fei. Guan Yu, I must ask you to think of the greater good, and guard our main camp.

Guan Yu: If it is your will, brother, then so be it. Rest easy in the knowledge that our camp will be safe.

Aftermath Scene

First Part

Liu Bei: Lu Xun, I cannot thank you enough.

Lu Xun: Please, my efforts hardly deserve your thanks. But tell me, what do you know of this man Kiyomori?

Random Character Comment:
Zhao Yun: Kiyomori? I have never heard the name. Is he an ally of ours?
Guan Yu: Kiyomori? Why, who is he?
Zhang Fei: Kiyomori? Who's that? Sounds like more trouble.
Zhuge Liang: I know nothing of him. Tell me what you know.
Ma Chao: Kiyomori... The name is new to me. Is he a just man?
Huang Zhong: Let me think, was there a man with that name...? I can't remember...
Jiang Wei: I don't know him. Is he another who threatens the peace of this age?
Wei Yan: ...Who?
Pang Tong: Kiyomori? Never heard of him.
Yue Ying: Kiyomori? I have no knowledge of him... What manner of man is he?
Guan Ping: Kiyomori? No, I don't know him. Tell me what you know.
Xing Cai: Kiyomori...? Who is he?
Sun Shang Xiang: Who is he? Is he a good man?

Lu Xun: I am afraid he is one who loves chaos. Our Wu Army came under attack from his forces.

Liu Bei: Yet another obstacle we must overcome...

Lu Xun: Do not despair, Lord Liu Bei. I have been instructed to provide your army with what help I can give. Please let me know where my efforts will be of greatest use.

Liu Bei: Wonderful! With your tactical brilliance on our side, we need have no fear of this Kiyomori.

Ina: Wait! Please give us the order, and we will eliminate Kiyomori.

Xing Cai: We won't let you down.

Liu Bei: Inspired by your famous fathers, are you? Very well. You will be in charge of the reconnaissance troops. Gather any information you can on Kiyomori.

Second Part

Zuo Ci: Why have you not told them of Kiyomori's designs?

Taigong Wang: What good would it do? It would merely incite panic. Do they not have enough to deal with in Da Ji? Should I have confused them even more?

Zuo Ci: No... You are testing them. You plan to see just how far the human spirit will stretch.

Taigong Wang: Think what you will. That is your right. Hehe, you do seem to have a soft spot for these humans, I must say.

Chapter 4 - Battle of Wuhang Mountains

Narrator: Having received reinforcments from Lu Xun of Wu, the Shu Army defeated Lu Bu. Following the battle, they learned from Lu Xun of the demonic Kiyomori Taira, who was leaving a path of destruction in his wake. Now, they faced threats posed by Lu Bu, whose only interest lay in being the most powerful of men; Masamune, who saw himself as the rightful heir to the world with Orochi gone; and Da Ji, who continued to operate in the shadows... And now, a new threat arose to replace Orochi, Kiyomori. The causes of this newfound chaos were gradually becoming clear. Sensing the immediate danger posed by Kiyomori, Liu Bei ordered Xing Cai and Ina to gather information on his army. As these two brave warriors carried out their mission, they came across an old friend who had been taken prisoner by a mysterious warrior they had never seen before...

Prelude Scene

Xing Cai: There are flags up ahead that I have never seen. There is also a heavily guarded cart...

Random Character Comment:
Nobunaga Oda: Ha... Mitsuhide has been captured.
Oichi: What is Mitsuhide doing inside that cart?
No: Mitsuhide's trapped inside that cart. He suits the part of the prisoner quite beautifully.
Ranmaru Mori: Lord Mitsuhide?! We have to help him!
Hideyoshi Toyotomi: Hey, I think Mitsuhide's in there. They've got him captured!
Ina: That is Lord Mitsuhide. What is he doing there?
Katsuie Shibata: That is Mitsuhide... Why is he being held captive?

Xing Cai: We can't leave him there...

Ina: We must move to his rescue with all haste.

Aftermath Scene

Mitsuhide Akechi: I must thank you all for rescuing us. Go on, now, say thank you.

Gracia: Lord Liu Bei, I cannot express how grateful I am to you for risking everything just to save us.

Random Character Comment:
Yue Ying: A lovely girl, isn't she?
Xing Cai: Good girl.
Zhen Ji: Such good manners! What a lovely girl!
Sun Shang Xiang: How adorable...
Da Qiao: What an honest little lady!
Xiao Qiao: Wow, you're so pretty! Can we be friends?
Diao Chan: Are you uninjured?
Zhu Rong: I like this girl. She knows how to respect her elders.
Da Ji: Don't, please. You're making me itch all over.
Nu Wa: What a pure soul...
Himiko: Come on, don't be so formal. We're all friends here.

Liu Bei: I am just glad you're safe. I hear that Sun Wukong is quite the warrior.

Mitsuhide Akechi: Kiyomori and Wukong are working together to expand their territory and their army.

Liu Bei: Inciting war, amassing allies... It's all very reminiscent of Orochi.

Mitsuhide Akechi: We cannot allow Kiyomori to have his way. Lord Liu Bei, allow us to join your cause.

Gracia: And we will put our lives on the line to realize your dream.

Chapter 5 - Battle of Jia Meng Gate

Narrator: The Shu Army defeated the mystical Sun Wukong, rescuing Mitsuhide and his daughter. According to Mitsuhide, Wukong was an underling of Kiyomori. The demonic grasp of Kiyomori had begun to spread across the land. However, Taigong Wang simply smiled in the face of this threat. Having seen Liu Bei and his men face and overcome countless obstacles, Taigong Wang was beginning to believe in man's potential. Meanwhile, a colossal shadow silently approached the Shu camp, hoping to see the limits of man's potential for himself, albeit for entirely different reasons...

Prelude Scene

Liu Bei: Now we know Kiyomori's overwhelming ambition. He must be stopped at all costs.

Guan Yu: Look, brother. It would seem as though we no longer have need to go searching ourselves.

Wei Yan: Kiyomori!?

Guan Yu: I wish to test the strength of this Kiyomori myself. Please brother, allow me the honor!

Liu Bei: You remained behind in the battle with Lu Bu. This time, it is your turn to fight. Make them fear the name Guan Yu!

Guan Yu: Understood! I'm going to tear that barbarian to shreds!

Aftermath Scene

Taigong Wang: General, I have discovered Da Ji's location. She is in a place called Odani Castle. You must continue to observe Kiyomori. I shall handle Da Ji.

Liu Bei: I understand. Still, there is nothing as vicious as a cornered rat. Take care.

Taigong Wang: Hehe, a human worrying about me? Still, I thank you for the thought. Farewell.

Chapter 6 - Battle of Odani Castle

Narrator: Led by Guan Yu, the Shu Army received assistance from Wei's Zhang Liao and defeated the Kiyomori Army. Following the battle, Zhang Liao agreed to remain with the Shu forces. Having added Lu Xun and Zhang Liao to its ranks, the Shu Army had assembled some of the mightiest warriors the Three Kingdoms had to offer in one united army. Meanwhile, the Kiyomori Army was bolstering its own ranks, with the addition of the boastful Wukong and the tyrannical Dong Zhuo. With both sides increasing in strength, a showdown between them was inevitable. Amidst this escalating tension, information was received that Da Ji was hiding in Odani Castle. Leading his army, Taigong Wang marched on Odani Castle. In his heart, he knew that cooperation with mortals would be necessary to bring his plan to fruition....

Prelude Scene

Taigong Wang: Da Ji's flight will end here. She has done well to come this far. But even if I capture Da Ji, Kiyomori will remain. Hehe, evil is a disease, spreading through this land. There must be some way to eradicate them for good.

Aftermath Scene

Taigong Wang: General Liu Bei has made mention of you. You have proved worthy of his praise.

Zhuge Liang: I am honored by your words. What did you do with Da Ji?

Taigong Wang: Our small numbers cannot watch her properly. I have sent her to the General.

Lu Xun: My lord! The situation is dire! Kiyomori launched an assault on Da Ji's prison wagon! He has taken them and escaped!

Taigong Wang: Kiyomori! I feared something like this might happen!

Zhuge Liang: Now that Kiyomori and Da Ji have allied, we will need to redouble our efforts.

Yue Ying: We shall fight with you. With things as they are, you will need every bit of help you can get.

Chapter 7 - Battle of Koshi Castle

Narrator: With reinforcements from Zhuge Liang, Taigong Wang captured both Da Ji and Himiko. However, while the prisoners were being transported back to the camp, a surprise attack from Kiyomori led to their escape. Kiyomori, with Da Ji and Himiko at his side, and with his forces riding a wave of momentum, headed for Orochi's resting place of Koshi Castle. Kiyomori was looking to put the final touches to the same plot that Da Ji had been planning all along; one so insidious, that it would strike fear in the hearts of all who heard it...

Prelude Scene

Liu Bei: Reports say that Kiyomori is performing some kind of ceremony at Koshi Castle.

Taigong Wang: Ceremony? Surely Da Ji is not just handing over her secret weapon to him...? I had not thought this time would come so soon. Hehe, it appears we have driven the fox into a corner. General! You must send your best men to Koshi Castle at once!

Liu Bei: Understood! Zhao Yun! Take some men and storm the castle!

Aftermath Scene

Zhao Yun: Orochi has been revived! he awaits us... at the Wu Zhang Plains!

Liu Bei: Impossible! How can this be?!

Taigong Wang: The Serpent King has returned. Will humanity follow him, or will they fight for freedom once more? The die has been cast. General, we await your decision.

Zhuge Liang: My lord, there is no need to worry. We have defeated Orochi once, we can do so again. This time, however, we will ensure his eternal slumber.

Chapter 8 - Battle of Wu Zhang Plains

Narrator: The Serpent King had returned. Although Liu Bei and his men defeated Kiyomori and Wukong at Koshi Castle, they were too late to prevent Himiko from reviving the fallen Orochi. Liu Bei gathered together his forces and hurried towards the Wu Zhang Plains. There, Orochi, along with Da Ji and Masamune Date, lay in wait, coiled and ready to strike at the approaching Shu Army. The final chapter began to unfold, as man, demon and mystic all prepared to participate in one last battle...

Prelude Scene

Zhuge Liang: I had thought that transporting Da Ji by a cage wagon was a rather careless decision.

Taigong Wang: Killing Da Ji would have served no purpose. Others would simply have taken up the banner of Orochi in her place. Indeed, has Kiyomori not already shown this? So I thought, let Orochi gather those malcontents to his side.

Zhuge Liang: ...And catch them all at once. A risky venture. What's more, Kiyomori and Da Ji have joined forces.

Taigong Wang: Da Ji risked all in giving Kiyomori Himiko, the key to resurrecting Orochi.

Zhuge Liang: So Orochi's very reawakening is all part of your startegy, is it?

Taigong Wang: I shall leave that to your imagination. But there is one thing I have learned. With your strength, victory can be yours. Whether Orochi returns or not. We have stopped Kiyomori and forced Orochi and Da Ji to face us. This story is fast approaching its conclusion.

Chapter 1 - Battle of Si Province

Narrator: The Serpent King, Orochi, had been defeated. However, Da Ji and the remnants of Orochi's army rose in rebellion, with several familiar faces in their midst. Masamune Date, determined to succeed his old friend Orochi. Dong Zhuo, who longed to fulfill his dreams of paradise. And finally, Lu Bu, who wielded his pike in hopes of seizing control of the land. Elsewhere Cao Cao, who had revived the kingdom of Wei, and his son Cao Pi, to whom he entrusted its defense, also raised an army. At Cao Cao's side was the beautiful and mysterious Nu Wa...

Prelude Scene

Cao Cao: Nu Wa, just what is Da Ji plotting?

Nu Wa: That I do not know. Yet, she is surely up to something.

Cao Cao: It was foolish of me to ask. I should know her sole goal is to sow chaos in this world.

Kunoichi: News flash! A monkey's army has been sighted on the road ahead. Weird, huh?

Random Character Comment:
Guan Yu: What was that...? An enemy agent?
Wei Yan: Gone... Who...?
Xiahou Dun: Sorcery! Cao Cao! Who was that?
Dian Wei: Wh-who was that?
Xu Zhu: Whoa... What was that?
Xiahou Yuan: Woah, I just about had a heart attack there. Who was that?!
Zhang He: She disappeared with the grace of a dancing deer... Lord Cao Cao, just who was that?
Sun Shang Xiang: H-huh? What was that?
Da Qiao: Eeek... Just who was that person?
Yuan Shao: Aaargh! Do not do that! Cao Cao, what was that apparition?
Sun Wukong: Hmm... There are some sneaky types even among you humans... Who was that?
Yoshitsune Minamoto: Who was that? An ally?
Nu Wa: What...? Who was that?
Himiko: Um, who was that girl?

Cao Cao: A unique kind of spy. Capable of many things... A most useful tool. She mentioned that there was an army led by a monkey... Curious... Let us go see this circus army.

Aftermath Scene

Cao Cao: Nu Wa... are you hiding something? It would not be wise to think that you can take advantage of me.

Nu Wa: Hm. To what might you be referring?

Cao Cao: Hmm, no matter... Let us quicken our pace.

Kunoichi: Breaking news! The terrifying Lu Bu has been sighted ahead at Si Shui Gate... And I don't think he's in a good mood.

Cao Cao: It seems Lu Bu has grown weary of a land without Orochi. It would not be wise to allow him to run free on his own. We march to Si Shui Gate.

Chapter 2 - Battle of Si Shui Gate

Narrator: Cao Cao managed to drive back the tyranny of Dong Zhuo. Sun Wukong... The presence of this mysterious member of Dong Zhuo's army led Cao Cao to believe that perhaps the world would once again face a supernatural threat. However, Nu Wa, who seemed to know something of the matter, remained silent. Just then, reports came in that Lu Bu had apeared near Si Shui Gate. Hearing the news, Cao Cao gathered his most trusted soldiers and headed off to battle. In order for Cao Cao to realize his ambitions, he knew he must first defeat the unparalleled might of Lu Bu...

Prelude Scene

Cao Cao: Ninja, this time I will need you to take an active role in the battle.

Kunoichi: All right then... As long as you're not going to get all dictatorial on me and demand I bring you Lu Bu's head.

Cao Cao: Lu Bu can be dealt with at our leisure... A battle's outcome does not rest on the power of one person. I would like you to take part, and see for yourself what I have in store.

Aftermath Scene

Xiahou Dun: As always, your plan was infallible, my lord.

Xiahou Yuan: Did you see the look on Lu Bu's face? That was priceless!

Cao Cao: No matter how brilliant a plan I devise, without men to execute it, it is as useless as a mule with a spinning wheel. You two are among the few I can rely on. Can I count on your continued loyalty?

Nu Wa: Cao Cao, I have very much enjoyed watching you fight.

Cao Cao: I have told you. I am the ruler of Wei. Do not waste your time testing my abilities.

Nu Wa: Forgive me. My mission is important, deserving of the utmost caution.

Cao Cao: Hmph... I believe we have something more important to discuss?

Nu Wa: Da Ji is trying to resurrect Orochi. Also, the one that monkey follows... He appears to be working toward the same goal. Cao Cao. There is no time to lose. Will you not aid me in putting an end to those plans?

Cao Cao: ...First I must send a message to my son. I will have him muster as many troops as possible. Zhang He. You must go and recruit Yuan Shao. In these circumstances, we will need all the help we can get.

Zhang He: Understood! I promise I will bring him back with me.

Cao Cao: I will send out messages myself, as well. Maybe a few others will be amenable to our request.

Random Character Comment:
Liu Bei: There is true spirit in his eyes. Cao Cao is truly in his element here.
Xiahou Dun: A true hero of these troubled times. In a crisis, there is no one that comes close.
Dian Wei: For you, my lord, they will be sure to come.
Xu Zhu: Looks like Lord Cao Cao really means business. That makes me feel so much better.
Xiahou Yuan: Unflappable as ever, my lord.
Zhang Liao: Even under such great pressure, my lord makes decisions without a second of hesitation. Truly a great man!
Sima Yi: My lord is in his element. I am impressed.
Xu Huang: Your unflinching decisiveness, even under such duress, is an example to us all. I await your orders, my lord.
Zhen Ji: Such admirable composure under such extreme duress... It is my great pleasure to serve such a great man.
Cao Ren: You are true to your word... You falter not one step in the face of chaos.
Cao Pi: An impressive display, but take care not to over-exert yourself, Father.
Pang De: Calm and decisive even under the most chaotic situations... such are the qualities of a man fit to rule.
Sun Jian: The mark of a true leader... It's almost as if he was waiting for this moment.
Zuo Ci: It seems the Hero of Chaos has been stirred into action...

Chapter 3 - Battle of Shizugatake

Narrator: With his defeat of the mighty Lu Bu, Cao Cao had earned the trust of Nu Wa. She laid forth her plans concerning the mysterious Kiyomori Taira. Cao Cao understood the necessity of preventing the revival of Orochi, and looked to merge forces with the other kingdoms. First, he issued a proclamation declaring his plan, and charged his son Cao Pi with gaining the cooperation of Wu. Meanwhile, Zhang He was given the task of enlisting Cao Cao's old friend, Yuan Shao, who had been building up his forces near Shizugatake...

Prelude Scene

Zhang He: Ever since the defeat of Orochi, Yuan Shao has gained much power. However... with Orochi being reawakened, Yuan Shao's role should be one of support, rather than the lead. With this battle, I will make him see the light.

Aftermath Scene

Taishi Ci: Hmm, Cao Cao and Cao Pi are truly father and son. They think alike.

Zhang He: By absorbing other forces, they will gain the power needed to resist Kiyomori... I'm sure you understand the necessity for some roughness in their methods.

Taishi Ci: It is of no import. Wu knows the problem we face. The problem is Yuan Shao, is it not?

Jiang Wei: Attempting to force us to serve him... Does Cao Cao intend to become a second Orochi?

Yuan Shao: That's enough, Jiang Wei. We have been defeated, and as such, we have no right to be so bold. I shall comply with your gracious request, and join your cause. I must think of the good of the land.

Random Character Comment:
Huang Zhong: An admirable attitude. You are a nobler man than I had thought!
Wei Yan: Strange...
Dian Wei: Hmm. That was easier than I thought.
Xiahou Yuan: Come on! Where's the misplaced arrogance, the ridiculous sense of ego? You don't do humble.
Zhang He: Never before have I seen Yuan Shao behave so nobly. I am touched.
Huang Gai: Well said! I'm sorry I thought poorly of you!
Da Qiao: Thank you very much! I am sure everyone is grateful.
Xiao Qiao: Yeah! We can be friends too!
Ling Tong: Hmm... You've grown a lot more backbone since our last tangle with Orochi...
Dong Zhuo: I thought you would whine and pout a little more... How disappointing...
Meng Huo: And I thought you were going to get all high and mighty again. It's nice to see you can be humble.
Zhu Rong: You mean you're not going to start boasting? Oh, and I was all ready to teach you a lesson...
Himiko: Don't be all depressed. Come on, cheer up.
Nobunaga Oda: Haha... Is that so?
Goemon Ishikawa: Hey, try and stay in character, will ya? It's off-putting.
Okuni: You're really quite cute when you're not trying to act all noble.
Kunoichi: Check and make sure that's the real Yuan Shao, someone. Wouldn't be the first time we've had an imposter in our midst.
Magoichi Saika: Looks like old dogs really can learn new tricks...
Shingen Takeda: Come, now, it's not like you to be so downcast. There's no point in being someone you're not.
Yoshimoto Imagawa: ...By the way, how are you at kemari?
Hideyoshi Toyotomi: Something's gotta be wrong with him...

Yuan Shao: Our friends have come before me, and begged me for their aid. It would not be noble of me to refuse. We march! With the assistance of Cao Cao and his men, the new Yuan Shao Army will prevent the return of the Serpent King!

Zhang He: Ah, there's the Yuan Shao I know. Now, let us return to Lord Cao Cao.

Chapter 4 - Battle of Ji Castle

Narrator: Zhang He was victorious at the Battle of Shizugatake, and Cao Cao welcomed Yuan Shao into his army. In addition, Cao Pi brought along with him the forces of Wu. However, they were not alone, as Kiyomori entrusted his officer Wukong with capturing talented officers to help in their efforts to revive Orochi. And thus the land was split into those seeking to revive Orochi behind Kiyomori, and those looking to prevent his resurrection behind Cao Cao. One side had to give. They were about to find out which it would be...

Prelude Scene

Kunoichi: Listen up, Heroes and Heroines of Chaos. The monkey's back - and this time, he's fighting someone else.

Cao Cao: Someone else battles against that fool monkey? This could be advantageous. Let us join the battle as well! Xiahou Yuan! Lead an assault against that meddling Wukong.

Xiahou Yuan: Yessir! Surprise attacks are my specialty. Don't blink or you'll miss it.

Aftermath Scene

First Part

Xiahou Yuan: My lord's on the lookout for guys who know how to handle a weapon. You two interested in joining us?

Magoichi Saika: Cao Cao? From what I hear, he's another Nobunaga, but I suppose I could give him a chance.

Toshiie Maeda: Rest assured, I will repay this debt with my spears.

Second Part

Nu Wa: Cao Cao has enlisted the aid of Yuan Shao, while his son has earned the trust of Wu. It goes well. Cao Cao is a human born to shine in chaos. In a sense, he and Kiyomori are the same. He has seen trhough even me. I only hope he does not stray, for he would be a more fearsome enemy than even Kiyomori. Have I entrusted the fate of the world to its savior, or its destroyer?

Chapter 5 - Battle of Komaki-Nagakute

Narrator: Cao Cao emerged victorious in his conflict with Kiyomori. Having driven back Kiyomori's vanguard, led by Wukong, Cao Cao added the talented officers Toshiie Maeda and Magoichi Saika to his ranks. Following the success of Cao Cao's army, Nu Wa looked on, unsure how to proceed. She must be patient... However, there were no assurances that Cao Cao would not march upon the path to evil. In such an event, who would be able to stop him...? Demon and mystic alike feared the very mention of Cao Cao's name, such was his strength. Determined to defeat Cao Cao once and for all, Kiyomori readied his secret weapon, Orochi himself. Cao Pi found himself surrounded at Komaki-Nagakute. Facing impossible odds, the forces of Cao Cao were in danger of crumbling to their very foundation...

Prelude Scene

Dian Wei: My lord! I bring grave news! Kiyomori and... Orochi are both advancing toward Lord Cao Pi!

Cao Cao: What? Orochi has been reawakened?

Nu Wa: No! It's too soon!

Dian Wei: My lord! We've no time to waste! We must rush to Lord Cao Pi's aid!

Aftermath Scene

First Part

Random Character Comment:
Zhao Yun: It seemed to me as though Orochi's attacks lacked their usual ferocity... But perhaps I am mistaken.
Jiang Wei: How could Orochi have been so weak...? Could it be a trick for us to lower our guard?
Dian Wei: Orochi... I don't know if it's because he just woke up, but he seemed a bit under-strength to me.
Xu Zhu: Orochi must have been starving. He barely put up a fight.
Xiahou Yuan: Something doesn't seem right... Was that really Orochi?
Zhang Liao: Orochi's strength was a great deal weaker than it was before. What's happened to him?
Zhang He: Orochi was past his peak. It seems we are all destined to wither and die...
Taishi Ci: Strange. I had remembered Orochi being much stronger.
Sun Quan: When we first faced Orochi, there was a presence, an aura about him. I just didn't feel it this time.
Yuan Shao: Orochi has crumpled before my might... Frankly, I don't blame him.
Kunoichi: I expected a little more from the final boss... But, we're still here, so...
Magoichi Saika: I don't think Orochi's back to his best. He just wasn't as strong as he was before.
Masamune Date: That was the extent of Orochi's power? Impossible! His power is supposed to be overwhelming.
No: I expected more from the Serpent King. This is hardly enough to satisfy me.
Hanzo Hattori: Orochi is weakened.
Tadakatsu Honda: Orochi's power was a mere shadow of its former self.
Kotaro Fuma: That snake does nothing to serve the forces of chaos.
Toshiie Maeda: Is that really all Orochi's got? I thought he'd have a little more spine, y'know...

Nu Wa: He has not yet been fully resurrected. For that, he requires the aid of a girl called Himiko. I did not see the girl there. Cao Cao! You must find this Himiko.

Cao Cao: Nu Wa... I'm disappointed in you. You've been keeping secrets from me again. But I have no time to spare in chastising you. We must not waste a moment in finding this Himiko.

Pang Tong: Before we rush off to our next engagement, though, do you not think it would be appropriate to give Lord Cao Pi a few words of praise?

Zhen Ji: His courage under fire was what enabled us to withstand such a fierce assault.

Cao Ren: Lord Cao Pi's defense was impeccable. He is a true warrior of Wei.

Cao Cao: Hmm... He is well on his way to becoming a true heir to my legacy.

Pang Tong: Well, I hardly think you yourself are quite ready for retirement yet.

Cao Pi: Father, what is the matter? Time is against us, we must begin the deployment of our forces!

Cao Cao: My son, you performed admirably while I was away. Now together, we will lead Wei to victory!

Second Part

Nu Wa: A lord who listens to his advisors. An advisor who risks even his life for his lord. Love it is not. And yet, a strong bond it is. Hmph. It appears my fears were groundless.

Chapter 6 - Battle of Yamatai

Narrator: Cao Cao and his men emerged victorious over Orochi at Komaki-Nagakute. It seemed that Orochi had not yet reached his full strength upon being brought back from the dead. With the return of Cao Pi to their ranks, the men's morale was at an all-time high. Determined to prevent Orochi from reaching full strength, they set after the one girl who had the power to make it happen. Her name was Himiko. Hoping to protect Himiko from Orochi's army, Cao Cao and his men knew that the task they faced was of the utmost importance...

Prelude Scene

First Part

Jiang Wei: Cao Cao, do you have any idea of the whereabouts of Himiko?

Cao Cao: Hmph, if I did, I would not be dawdling here... Jiang Wei, do you have an idea?

Jiang Wei: I fear that those who seek to revive Orochi will also be searching for Himiko. And we must not forget, aside from Kiyomori, there is another who desires the revival of the Serpent King.

Random Character Comment:
Zhuge Liang: Da Ji. An excellent observation, Jiang Wei.
Pang Tong: Da Ji... Shall we see if we can catch her then? Could be fun...
Yue Ying: Lord Jiang Wei, you speak of Da Ji? If we follow her...
Cao Cao: That would be Da Ji. A sharp observation. You live up to your reputation.
Sima Yi: Da Ji, yes. That much is obvious.
Cao Pi: Da Ji, hmm? Heh... Naturally, I thought of her too.
Zhou Yu: ...Da Ji, yes? I see... Your mind is sharp, I must say.
Lu Xun: Ah... you speak of Da Ji... Well reasoned as always, Jiang Wei.
Lu Meng: Of course... Da Ji! I should have expected no less from the child prodigy!
Taigong Wang: Yes, Da Ji. Finally, someone whose speed of thought matches my own.
Mitsuhide Akechi: You speak of Da Ji? I see you have a plan, then.
Oichi: Da Ji... She is after Himiko too... It is a plausible scenario.
Shingen Takeda: You mean Da Ji, I presume. An interesting thought...
No: Oh, you mean Da Ji... Impressive flexibility of thought for one so young.
Hideyoshi Toyotomi: Da Ji! Of course! Sharp thinking there, Jiang Wei,
Mitsunari Ishida: Da Ji, right? Leave out the implicit suggestions and say what you mean.
Sakon Shima: You mean Da Ji. I forgot all about her. Thanks for reminding me.

Toshiie Maeda: All right! Let's not waste any more time thinking, and get down to action!

Cao Cao: Ah, the impetuousness of youth... Very well, Jiang Wei, Toshiie, I entrust the search to you. You must hunt her down, and secure Himiko.

Second Part

Toshiie Maeda: I know I was keen to volunteer for the mission, but I don't suppose anyone actually knows where Da Ji is?

Jiang Wei: Rest assured, Toshiie. Da Ji is a stranger to this world... She will find it difficult to move clandestinely. In fact, she may be closer than you think...

Toshiie Maeda: You mean she's around here? Surely n-... Hey! There she is!

Jiang Wei: We've found you, Da Ji... Toshiie, don't forget. Our first prority is to secure Himiko.

Toshiie Maeda: Don't worry. This is my chance to make a name for myself in this world - I won't let it go!

Aftermath Scene

First Part

Toshiie Maeda: Winning the battle means nothing if we still don't know where Himiko is.

Jiang Wei: Da Ji! Where has Himiko gone?!

Da Ji: Why, she's with Lord Orochi, of course... Oh look, you're all scared. How adorable.

Random Character Comment:
Pang Tong: We may not be fully prepared for the chase, but it seems time is very much of the essence.
Xiahou Dun: We don't have time to waste listening to this rubbish! We need to chase down that Himiko!
Dian Wei: Don't waste time talking to her! We need to go after Himiko!
Xiahou Yuan: That's just perfect... Well, I guess we'd better make sure we hunt Himiko down then.
Zhang He: Ignore this little one's pointless taunting. We must focus on finding Himiko.
Zhen Ji: Silence, fox! In any case... we must begin the search for Himiko.
Cao Ren: An end to this chaos is almost beyond reach... But if we chase Himiko now, we may still be able to grasp it.
Cao Pi: Jiang Wei, regret never helped any man. Now we must focus on hunting down Himiko.
Taishi Ci: We have no time to talk with this fox. We must find Himiko!
Yuan Shao: Uhh... Yes. I've decided what must be done. We must stop Himiko from reaching Orochi.
Kunoichi: Enough flirting! Jiang Wei's coming with me - and we're going after Himiko!
Magoichi Saika: Da Ji... right now I have to chase down a different annoying little girl! So I'll ignore your sassiness this time.
Nagamasa Azai: Lord Jiang Wei, we do not have the leisure to converse with liars! We have not a moment to lose in our pursuit of Himiko!
Gracia: That means... If we don't stop her, Orochi will be back! What should we do?

Oichi: Himiko is traveling towards Tong Gate! We must hurry before we are too late.

Cao Cao: You two have done well. You've caught Da Ji. There is no need for regret. Xiahou Dun! Take the cavalry and head to Tong Gate at once!

Xiahou Dun: I am thankful that you've entrusted such an important task to me, my lord!

Cao Cao: Now, Nagamasa, thank you for responding to my request. I will continue to need your lance in the battles to come.

Nagamasa Azai: I will render whatever assistance I can.

Second Part

Nu Wa: We meet again, Da Ji.

Da Ji: Yes, and it looks like time has changed you more than me. What, are you Cao Cao's little pet now?

Nu Wa: You have grown impertinent in your freedom.

Da Ji: He captures me, he's got you eating from the palm of his hand... Sounds like he's taking over. Sounds to me like Lord Orochi's not the one you should be worried about. You should look closer to home.

Chapter 7 - Battle of Tong Gate

Narrator: Taken to the brink of defeat by the sorcery of Da Ji, Jiang Wei managed to escape with a victory thanks to the assistance of Nagamasa. While they had let Himiko escape, they did manage to capture Orochi's strategist, Da Ji. With this victory, Cao Cao proved that no obstacle could stop him, turning each seemingly impossible setback into an opportunity for gain. Nu Wa found herself swayed by Da Ji's warnings of the threat posed by Cao Cao. Just as Da Ji had feared, not even the mystical Nu Wa possessed the power to stop Cao Cao. She could do nothing but pray that Cao Cao would not fall to the same obsession with power that had afflicted Kiyomori. Meanwhile, Kiyomori summoned Masamune and Keiji to help in his quest to revive Orochi. The addition of these two warriors only served to make the Orochi Army even stronger. The complete resurrection of Orochi was nearly at hand. However, Cao Cao refused to surrender, and set off for Tong Gate in pursuit of Himiko...

Prelude Scene

Xiahou Dun: Kiyomori... so he intends to buy enough time for Himiko to get to Orochi... This means that he's Orochi's servant... I don't have time to wait for Lord Cao Cao. Kiyomori... Clear this path... Or your blood shall end up as rust on my blade!

Aftermath Scene

Xiahou Dun: Orochi has been reawakened at Guan Du! Is this the time to be drinking with Nobunaga?

Katsuie Shibata: They didn't just exchange cups... They also exchanged the will and desire to defeat Orochi. And that will is already beginning to take shape. Look, my lord and Lord Cao Cao have already left to prepare for the coming battles.

Xiahou Dun: Cao Cao... why must he do such things? Just make sure he does his part...

Nu Wa: You were right, Da Ji. Cao Cao is a frightening man. He has set his sights beyond the commonplace. And he will raise a storm that will engulf all. Yet, for that, he will not stray from his path. For he knows in truth the importance of his task. Orochi thinks only of himself. That is why he will ultimately be defeated.

Chapter 8 - Battle of Guan Du

Narrator: Cao Cao's men gave fierce pursuit, determined to put a stop to the efforts to revive Orochi. Kiyomori looked to hinder their progress with his massive demonic army. However, the appearance of Nobunaga Oda turned the tide against him, and Kiyomori vanished within the dust of Tong Gate. However, Kiyomori was merely hoping to buy time until Orochi's revival was complete. The Serpent King had returned. Cao Cao and Nobunaga... The Hero of Chaos and the Demon King stood together as one, unfazed by the news of Orochi's revival. They set off for the final battle, which would take place at Guan Du. Together, they would ensure that the Serpent King would not rise again...

Prelude Scene

Random Character Comment:
Jiang Wei: Orochi, I will put an end to you! All armies, charge!
Pang Tong: You must be tired, Orochi - all that reincarnation can take it out of you. It's time to get some real rest.
Xiahou Dun: Orochi... your pitiful existence ends now!
Dian Wei: Orochi! This time, I'll put you to sleep for good.
Cao Cao: Orochi, here we will decide your fate... All forces, advance!
Xiahou Yuan: There's no coming back this time, Orochi. All forces, advance!
Zhang He: Orochi... at least have the grace to die a beautiful death! All armies, charge!
Zhen Ji: Orochi, shall I play a tune for you? How about a nice lullaby?
Cao Ren: Orochi... We will defeat you and set this world right. Everyone! Forward!
Cao Pi: Orochi, this world has rejected you. Return to your slumber.
Taishi Ci: Let us return Orochi to his grave! Forward!
Yuan Shao: Orochi - the only fitting end for such a tyrant is at the hands of a true hero - me!
Nu Wa: Return to the darkness from whence you came. Forward!
Nobunaga Oda: End the evil this serpent has created.
Oichi: Orochi... Prepare to meet your destiny. All armies, please begin the attack!
Kunoichi: Come on out, Orochi... I need a new pair of snake-skin boots.
Magoichi Saika: Orochi! This time, I know just where to hit you. Everyone, let's put an end to this snake!
Mitsunari Ishida: Why must you insist on being so hard to kill...? You should always quit when you're on top.
Nagamasa Azai: Orochi, my lance will not rest until your skull lies upon it! All forces, engage!
Toshiie Maeda: Orochi's head is mine!
Katsuie Shibata: Our only target is Orochi's scaly head! All armies, attack!

Wu Story Mode

Chapter 1 - Battle of Ru Xu Kou

Narrator: Lu Bu had raised an army. This news reached the ears of the brave warriors of Wu, who had been living in peace since the fall of the Serpent King, Orochi. As the most powerful man history had ever known, Lu Bu was determined to use his might to seize power in this strange land. However, Sun Jian did nothing, not wanting Wu to contribute to the destruction of the peace that the land had enjoyed. Sending out Sun Ce, Zhou Yu and Ranmaru Mori as scouts, he preferred to simply keep an eye on things for the time being. While on their scouting mission, Ranmaru and the others came across a young warrior who refused to back down, even in the face of one as powerful as Lu Bu...

Prelude Scene

Sun Quan: I have heard reports that Lu Bu is stirring unrest across the land... After we fought so hard to defeat Orochi, why does he do this? In response, Dong Zhuo, Masamune, and even Cao Cao have raised armies. In our current state, Wu would shatter if we mobilized for war again... We must prevent such an occurrence no matter the cost...

Sun Jian: Listen to me, my people. I have decided that we must fortify our defenses for the time being. There is much about this realm that we cannot yet see, much about our enemies that we do not yet know. For now, we must stand our ground, and keep our eyes open until Sun Ce returns.

Okuni: I chase Ling Tong all this way, and what do I find? There's nothing going on here...

Ginchiyo Tachibana: And why did you bring me?

Okuni: Oh, I just wanted to bring you along for the ride. I thought you could do with letting your hair down.

Motochika Chosokabe: Wu provides this bat with his only opportunity to rest his wings.

Okuni: I thought Ranmaru was here too... Where has that boy gone to?

Aftermath Scene

Yoshitsune Minamoto: I thank you for your aid. I am Yoshitsune Minamoto.

Random Character Comment:
Yukimura Sanada: There is a famous warrior from my land with that name. What a coincidence...
Keiji Maeda: Oh yes, I'm sure you are. And what is it that brings this mighty hero to my neck of the woods?
Nobunaga Oda: And what is it you want from the Kingdom of Wu?
Mitsuhide Akechi: The legendary Yoshitsune appears before me? Unbelievable... but I suppose with the world in this current state...
Okuni: And I am delighted to meet you, Yoshitsune. Has anyone ever told you just how gorgeous you are?
Shingen Takeda: Yoshitsune? Well, well, they are coming out of the woodwork, aren't they?
Ranamru Mori: The hero of history...? Surely you can't be...
Hideyoshi Toyotomi: The legendary Yoshitsune? This is indeed an honor. Nothing about this world surprises me anymore.
Ina: Your courage in standing up to Lu Bu was magnificent. What is it you are doing in this realm?
Mitsunari Ishida: Yoshitsune? You mean, the hero of the stories I read in my- Uh, sorry, forget I said anything.
Ginchiyo Tachibana: I don't know if you are who you say you are... But I also wish to have some of the bravery you showed while facing Lu Bu.
Kanetsugu Naoe: Yes! Short but handsome - just as I imagined you would be!
Motochika Chosokabe: Really? The great hero, who rebelled against the strictures of his age...
Gracia: You mean the famous one from the books I read? No, you must be a different Yoshitsune...

Yoshitsune Minamoto: I have come in search of someone. Yet, I fear I am but one man... This is not your fight, but I ask for your aid.

Sun Jian: You are Yoshitsune? My name is Sun Jian, leader of Wu.

Yoshitsune Minamoto: Then I shall ally myself to you. Call on me when you have need. If I follow you to battle, perhaps I may find a clue to his whereabouts...

Sun Jian: In that case, you should make yourself comfortable. I have no plans to set forth for the time being.

Yoshitsune Minamoto: The tiger will not leave his den? But there is every chance that the warrior known as Lu Bu may attack...

Chapter 2 - Battle of Kanegasaki

Narrator: Lu Bu fell back without engaging Ranmaru and the others in battle. For he would only fight when it suited his purposes. Having raised an army to conquer the land, Lu Bu was eager to begin his quest for domination. Meanwhile, the young warrior that had confronted Lu Bu, Yoshitsune Minamoto, joined forces with the Wu Army. However, Yoshitsune was not alone, as the remnants of the Orochi Army had followed him, led by a mysterious figure. Ranmaru and the others sensed that yet another threat was slowly approaching. Almost as if drawn by the chaos created by Lu Bu, Masamune Date, Cao Cao and the tyrannical Dong Zhuo had also prepared forces for battle...

Prelude Scene

Ling Tong: My lord, the enemy has appeared, led by Dong Zhuo and Goemon Ishikawa!

Sun Jian: These invaders must be repelled. Are there any brave soldiers here who would volunteer for this task?

Okuni: Those two? Well, they're not really my type, but I think I could handle them.

Sun Jian: I cannot allow a woman to go out there alone. Ling Tong, you must accompany her.

Ling Tong: Well, if it's an order, then I'm not gonna say no.

Aftermath Scene

First Part

Goemon Ishikawa: You gotta forgive me, Okuni! I didn't know what I was doing... I promise I'll never betray you again. Just, don't be mad, okay?

Second Part

Ling Tong: Zhou Yu, I believe you also have seen something of these lands?

Zhou Yu: Following Orochi's death, I traveled south, and held talks with Meng Huo. However, once I heard that Wu was under siege, I returned. It seems that Lu Bu has begun to stir as well.

Random Character Comment:
Zhang Fei: We should make a preemptive strike, but Sun Jian doesn't seem to care.
Ma Chao: At this rate, we will be worn out by pointless fighting. We must press Lord Sun Jian to mobilize in the name of justice!
Dian Wei: The world is going to hell in a hand basket but this doesn't seem to bother Sun Jian...
Gan Ning: Mayhem spreads through the land, and yet my lord makes no move to stop it. Why doesn't he do anything?
Huang Gai: Soon will come a chaos even more terrible than before... My lord should know that...
Ling Tong: So, chaos is just around the corner. I think it's about time for our lord to get a move on.
Da Ji: Hehe... Now this is more like it. If only Sun Jian would join in, it'd be the perfect little party...
Sun Wukong: Finally some excitement! But, why are we still just sitting around here?
Yoshitsune Minamoto: Wu has already been dragged into chaos. Does Sun Jian not see this?
Masamune Date: The seeds of unrest had been planted when Orochi died and they have been growing ever since. Yet Sun Jian still has not begun to stir.
No: I smell the sweet scent of conflict... And yet Sun Jian still seems reluctant to move.
Ginchiyo Tachibana: The world has already succumbed to chaos. But our lord still seems to slumber unaware.

Zhou Yu: My lord should consider the current situation. I believe that Wu is about to be targeted. The enemy will come, and we must prepare for the inevitable. Xiao Qiao and I will strengthen the defense.

Xiao Qiao: There's nothing to worry about with me around! I'll keep everyone safe!

Chapter 3 - Battle of Nan Zhong

Narrator: The Wu Army repelled the assault of Dong Zhuo. Seeing the error of his ways, Goemon Ishikawa joined Wu, along with Zhou Yu and Xiao Qiao, who sensed the impending chaos and were driven to protect Wu at all costs. Despite the encounter with Orochi's followers and the surprise attack by Dong Zhuo, Sun Jian and the men of Wu continued to cling to the hope for peace, which now hung by the most fragile of threads. However, one man saw this as an obstacle to his ambitions, and slowly stalked Wu in an effort to wake the sleeping tiger...

Prelude Scene

Yoshitsune Minamoto: Sun Jian, if you will not march, then lend me troops. I will.

Sun Jian: I cannot do that. It will merely serve to aid the chaos pervading this land.

Random Character Comment:
Zhuge Liang: If Wu mobilizes now, full-scale war will be unavoidable. Lord Sun Jian must stabilize the country before such an action.
Liu Bei: It is not such an easy thing to dispatch troops, Master Yoshitsune. It requires both responsibility and commitment.
Zhou Yu: The wounds Wu received in the last conflict with Orochi have yet to be healed... We must endure for a while more.
Lu Xun: If we start a war now, our citizens and soldiers will bear the burden. For now, we must strengthen ourselves against outside threats.
Sun Quan: For the welfare of our people who suffered so much during the previous war... please understand my father's feelings.
Lu Meng: My lord endures for us and for all the people of Wu. I won't allow any irresponsible behavior.
Xiao Qiao: Lord Sun Jian is just trying to protect everybody... Please, calm down!
Zhou Tai: Sit down.
Diao Chan: Lord Yoshitsune, please understand. Lord Sun Jian is trying to prevent the destruction of our hard-won peace.
Himiko: Sun Jian's still hurt from the war against Orochi. We should wait until those wounds are healed.
Ranmaru Mori: Lord Sun Jian is sparing us from unnecessary bloodshed.
Motochika Chosokabe: Sun Jian is waiting out the storm, like a bat in a cave. It is a sage strategy.
Gracia: What exactly do you mean, Master Tiger? Tell me.

Ginchiyo Tachibana: According to some scouts, the Wei Army has been spotted approaching. They are led by Cao Pi with Pang Tong at his side. My lord, is this the time to be so lax?

Random Character Response:
Zhuge Liang: If Pang Tong is present, that means... there is some other motive behind this action.
Liu Bei: Even Wei is attacking... Does no one else understand Sun Jian's motivations?
Zhou Yu: Why would Wei attack us? Cao Pi... just what are you up to...
Lu Xun: There's no apparent reason why Wei are attacking... For now, we must try and quell the sparks before they burst into flames.
Sun Quan: Why would Wei attack? Why do they take pleasure in causing so much suffering?
Lu Meng: Cao Pi is not a fool. He must have some other motive.
Xiao Qiao: What! Why are they attacking!? Did I do something bad?
Zhou Tai: I will keep us safe.
Diao Chan: It seems they do not understand Lord Sun Jian's will. There is no other option but to fight...
Himiko: Those big bullies! Don't they know we should be working together, not fighting amongst ourselves?
Ranmaru Mori: How could they...?! After Lord Sun Jian has spent so long striving for peace...
Motochika Chosokabe: Does Cao Pi not realize that a roused tiger has a nasty bite?
Gracia: Hey! What does that Cao Pi think he's doing, attacking us?! I'm going to go and ask him myself!

Sun Jian: Zhou Yu, head to Nan Zhong. Use your guile to find out what Wei really wants.

Aftermath Scene

First Part

Meng Huo: I promised you I'd help, and I delivered on that promise.

Zhou Yu: Meng Huo, your strength was truly a blessing. Will you not join us in the battles to come?

Zhu Rong: How could we turn down an invitation as polite as that? We'd be glad to help, wouldn't we darling?

Second Part

Sun Jian: Zhou Yu. Report on your findings.

Zhou Yu: It seems Cao Pi's intent was not to stir unrest, but to spur Wu into action...

Ginchiyo Tachibana: How will the Tiger respond to Cao Pi's actions?

Sun Quan: Father! Lu Bu is attacking with numbers greater than before! Also, it seems an unknown general, carrying about what appears to be a giant ring of prayer beads, has joined him.

Yoshitsune Minamoto: Beads? That has to be him. Finally! He shall not escape me this time! That is the man I have been seeking! I thank you for your aid! Farewell!

Sun Jian: Blast! Quan, gather an army and follow him at once!

Chapter 4 - Battle of Itsukushima

Narrator: The Wu Army defeated Wei at the Battle of Nan Zhong. The Nanman King, Meng Huo, and his wife Zhu Rong, agreed to join Zhou Yu and the kingdom of Wu. There was a reason why Cao Pi had attacked Wu at Nan Zhong... He was hoping to enlist the aid of the sleeping tiger in the upcoming batle against the forces of chaos. Peace... or war... Wu was faced with a most difficult choice. It was at this time that Lu Bu once again appeared before Wu. At Lu Bu's side was Yoshitsune's nemesis, a powerful demon who had assembled a massive army formed by the followers of Orochi...

Prelude Scene

Sun Quan: Yoshitsune! Wait! You musn't be hasty!

Yoshitsune Minamoto: Ah, Sun Quan. Behold, that is my enemy, the evil Kiyomori Taira. You may think Lu Bu is a demon, but he has nothing on that monster.

Sun Quan: So, storm clouds have gathered around the dragon... An already bad situation has become worse.

Yoshitsune Minamoto: Victory will not go to the timid. Ride with me, men of Wu!

Aftermath Scene

First Part

Yoshitsune Minamoto: You are Sun Quan's brother? I am Yoshitsune. Thank you for your aid in fighting that monster.

Sun Ce: Hey, think nothing of it. I was getting bored with all this recon anyway.

Sun Quan: Hmm... no matter how much we strengthen our defense, it will not be enough to defend against Lu Bu and Kiyomori. I will also try and persuade Father. We have no choice but to mobilize now.

Random Character Comment:
Zhang Fei: That's what I've been waiting to hear! I'll send them scurrying off with their tails between their legs.
Ma Chao: Finally, it's our turn to attack! Leave the vanguard to me!
Dian Wei: Well, it's about time you let me off my leash! Time to show off some of the new moves I've been practicing!
Huang Gai: An admirable decision! I pledge to this cause, whatever power I have left in these old bones.
Gan Ning: It's payback time! I'm ready to go, just give the order!
Ling Tong: We finally have our mouthpiece, do we? Well, it's time for a good old-fashioned counterattack!
Meng Huo: Sun Quan! You've made the right choice! Don't worry! I'll lend you a hand!
Zhu Rong: You have no idea how long we've been waiting to hear you say that. Let's go get 'em!
Da Ji: That's better. It sounds like you're finally listening to your instincts.
Sun Wukong: Just what I wanted to hear! I knew you would listen to reason.
Yoshitsune Minamoto: A wise decision. I shall do all in my power to aid you.
Himiko: That's right. We have to show them what's what! You watch, I'll lead the way!
Masamune Date: Well said! Never fear, no one can stand up to the might of the Dragon and the Tiger!
Ginchiyo Tachibana: Well done, Tiger Prince! An admirable decision.

Second Part

Sun Quan: If we attack, we may gain much, but we could also lose everything. If we do nothing, we will lose nothing, but will gain nothing as well. After the last war, you chose the latter, because you did not wish to risk any more losses. But now Lu Bu has embraced conflict and is coming for us. The chance for peace has been lost. To attack or defend. Which is the better choice, there is no way to tell for certain. But one thing is for sure... chaos once again has the world in its grasp... I wish to fight Lu Bu with you, Father, to protect what needs to be protected! Is that not what it means to be a man of Wu?

Sun Jian: You speak bravely, my son. But you must not act rashly.

Sun Ce: Don't worry about it, Father. This is where my reconnaissance comes in handy. Lu Bu doesn't seem to want to leave Kiyomori's side. Which means, his main camp is undermanned. If we hit them at Yang Ping Gate, they'll sit up and take notice. We may even be able to split the two of them up.

Huang Gai: Your plan is dead on. I will personally lead the attack on Lu Bu's base!

Sun Jian: Take care. We will be behind you all the way.

Huang Gai: I will cut open a path for the Tiger of Wu!

Chapter 5 - Battle of Okehazama

Narrator: Wu, with the help of Yoshitsune, defeated the forces of Lu Bu and Kiyomori. Sun Ce joined the battle as well, and the Wu Army's morale continued to rise. Finally, Sun Jian made his decision. Wu will stand and fight! With this declaration, the Wu Army found itself facing two enemies: Kiyomori, who relied on his immense power to control others, and Lu Bu, who used his overwhelming might to vanquish all that stood in his way. Their first objective was to attack Lu Bu's main camp at Yang Ping Gate, whose defenses were weakened while he was away. On the way to their target, however, they were confronted by another figure who was determined to rule the land for himself now that Orochi was gone...

Prelude Scene

Huang Gai: What is this? I see some unknown troops' movements ahead...

Goemon Ishikawa: Hang on, we're nowhere near Yang Ping yet. This looks like Okehazama. And that's not Lu Bu! That flag - the sparrow and the bamboo... It's the banner of the Date clan!

Huang Gai: Date... I had heard he joined with Orochi and was spreading chaos across the land...

Goemon Ishikawa: Yeah, and spouting some garbage about leading the world after Orochi's gone.

Huang Gai: No matter, we must get through him in order to get to Yang Ping Gate. All forces, advance!

Aftermath Scene

First Part

Xu Zhu: Lord Cao Pi ordered me to fight with you. I expect many pies in return!

Pang De: I pledge my assistance as well. Today, I swing my halberds for Wu.

Goemon Ishikawa: Look at this... I'm surrounded by big, burly men, without a single lovely lady in sight.

Random Character Comment:
Dian Wei: I think you're lovely enough for all of us.
Xiahou Yuan: Well, compared to you, I'm positively adorable.
Cao Ren: For protecting the people from this age of chaos, a bigger, thicker shield is best.
Taishi Ci: But with might such as is gathered here, our duty will be easy to accomplish.
Huang Gai: Look who's talking...
Lu Bu: Hmph, the only beauty I need is Diao Chan...
Dong Zhuo: That's right! I can't fight without pretty girls around!
Meng Huo: Heh, how about I pick those flowers and plant them in your head! Then you'd be pretty!
Orochi: This is of no import.
Kiyomori Taira: Women are not worth anything. The only joy in this world comes from ultimate power.
Shingen Takeda: We may not have any ladies yet, but it's only a matter of time before they come running.
Tadakatsu Honda: Don't speak such foolishness!
Ieyasu Tokugawa: Come, Goemon, do not speak ill of your comrades. You may come to rely on them one day.
Yoshihiro Shimazu: Yes, but this is not an age for prettiness. I'll take ugly over dainty any day.
Katsuie Shibata: Hmph, strong men are all that are needed here.

Second Part

Huang Gai: My lord, the way to Yang Ping Gate is clear. Now, give the order for all troops to attack!

Sun Quan: Father! Now is the time to show the world the spirit of Wu.

Sun Ce: We're ready to go any time! Just give the word.

Yoshitsune Minamoto: Look around you. This is the real face of Wu. Surely there is no indecision left in your heart?

Sun Jian: In the war against Orochi, I was nothing but a burden, and my capture divided my sons. Although we claimed victory, I must not forget that much suffering accompanied that feat.

Zhou Yu: You have been acting with the utmost prudence. I am sure that a similar tragedy will not occur again.

Sun Jian: Our hard won peace has been taken from us. It is our duty to relaim it. Our hibernation is over. This tiger is ready to pounce upon those who would destroy our happiness!

Chapter 6 - Battle of Yang Ping Gate

Narrator: Wu defeated the Date Army at Okehazama. Inspired by Wu's determination, Xu Zhu and Pang De of Wei decided to join the Wu Army. Riding high on their momentum, the Wu Army continued towards Yang Ping Gate. Just as Sun Ce had predicted, Lu Bu's main force was away from the gate. Their numbers were thin, and ripe for attack. It was the perfect time for Wu to make its move. The troops merely waited for their leader, Sun Jian, to give the word. Sun Jian had always been one to put the welfare of his men first, avoiding any battle that had not been thoroughly analyzed. However, in this instance, he cast aside his usual discretions and gave the order to invade. At last, the Tiger had finally awoken from its slumber...

Prelude Scene

Sun Jian: My son, I leave command of this battle to you. Make haste and catch Lu Bu off guard.

Sun Ce: You can count on me. Now let's go have some fun!

Random Character Comment:
Xu Zhu: Yeah! We'll give that Lu Bu a big surprise!
Pang De: I agree! Let's put an end to Lu Bu's demonic ambitions.
Zhou Yu: Understood! Sun Ce, let us force Lu Bu to meet his fate!
Sun Quan: Yes! Brother, let us go and put down this beast together!
Huang Gai: Understood! I'm going to tear that barbarian to shreds!
Da Qiao: Yes, my lord! Together, we can accomplish anything!
Xiao Qiao: O-kaay! I'll teach that big ol' Lu Bu a lesson!
Zhou Tai: My lord.
Ling Tong: Well, let's go then. I can't wait to see the look on Lu Bu's stupid face when he sees us.
Meng Huo: I can see Lu Bu's lumpy, bruised face now...
Zhu Rong: It's time to burn Lu Bu's nest to the ground.
Yoshitsune Minamoto: Right! Lu Bu shall soon find my blade at his throat!
Himiko: Yeah, leave it to us. Come on, everyone!
Okuni: I always thought Lu Bu was such a handsome man... I do hope our paths cross again.
Goemon Ishikawa: No problem! You should see me move - I'm like a cat!
Kenshin Uesugi: I shall destroy this demon's nest.
Ranmaru Mori: Lord Sun Ce. Please make use of me in any way you see fit.
Tadakatsu Honda: Understood. Lu Bu's main camp is already within my grasp!
Ginchiyo Tachibana: Ha... The Tiger has only just awakened, and already we have a battle. Excellent.

Aftermath Scene

Ma Chao: Lord Sun Jian, I heard from Lord Pang De that you are fighting Lu Bu and Kiyomori! Will you allow me to join this glorious campaign of justice?

Sun Jian: You are most welcome. Your presence will sharpen this tiger's fangs.

Chapter 7 - Battle of Yamazaki

Narrator: Sun Ce and his men succeeded in defeating Lu Bu's army and capturing their stronghold at Yang Ping Gate. Lu Bu had seemed unenthusiastic during the battle, as he collapsed to an ignominious defeat. Wu welcomed Ma Chao, who had come to reinforce them, and the morale of the Wu troops continued to rise. However, Kiyomori's large army quietly began moving to surround the Wu forces. It was all part of Kiyomori's plan. By using the weakened defenses at Yang Ping Gate to lure them out, it would be easy to surround and annihilate the Wu Army. Gaining the assistance of Masamune, Kiyomori's army grew even stronger. Facing the powerful trio of Kiyomori, Lu Bu and Masamune, the Wu Army found itself in a most precarious position...

Prelude Scene

Zhou Yu: My lord, I have seized control of Lu Bu's base. However... there is something that concerns me. I fear that it was all too easy. There is a possibility this was a plan to lure us out.

Random Character Comment:
Zhang Fei: There's no way that fool's tricks would work! You worry too much!
Huang Zhong: Lu Bu isn't exactly a genius. I hardly think we need to fear that from him.
Guan Ping: Impossible! A simpleton like Lu Bu could never devise such a plan...
Xu Zhu: Is Lu Bu... that smart?
Huang Gai: Lu Bu has always relied on his martial prowess to achieve victory... I don't think he would stoop to such trickery to win.
Sun Ce: Yeah, but I can't see him coming up with anything to top one of your plans.
Dong Zhuo: Lu Bu is an idiot who only thinks with his spear! He could never think of such a devious plan.
Yuan Shao: You think this is a plan of Lu Bu's? Ha! You seriously think I would fall for a plan hatched by him?
Meng Huo: You're thinking too much, Zhou Yu! There's no way Lu Bu would think of something like that!

Yoshitsune Minamoto: Have you forgotten? The evil genius Kiyomori stands at Lu Bu's side.

Ma Chao: Lord Sun Jian! An urgent report has arrived! We've been surrounded by the main body of Kiyomori's army!

Yoshitsune Minamoto: Argh! This is just like him... Sun Jian! How will we survive this?

Sun Jian: The tiger has been stirred from his slumber, and he is ready to feast. Follow me, and we will break through!

Aftermath Scene

First Part

Sun Quan: Just who was Kiyomori...?

Yoshitsune Minamoto: He was human once. My sworn rival, and yet a great man. But that was before he sold his soul. Still, now he can find his rest.

Sun Quan: What will you do now? You've accomplished your goal... Will you go home?

Yoshitsune Minamoto: I find myself drawn to that Lu Bu. A man that even Kiyomori could not control. I would see where he goes from here.

Sun Quan: Your skill would be a welcome addition to the forces of Wu. If you have nowhere to go, you will always be welcome here.

Yoshitsune Mianmoto: I was unsure of Wu at first. But perhaps the den of the tiger is not such a bad place to be.

Second Part

Sun Jain: Before Kiyomori died, he said we were too late...

Meng Huo: Ah, don't worry about it. That's just a loser's bluffing!

Sun Jian: I wonder. I have a bad feeling about this.

Zhou Yu: My lord! There is a disturbance at Chi Bi! There are reports of Orochi gathering forces there!

Sun Jian: ...This must be what he meant. All forces, make haste to Chi Bi!

Chapter 8 - Battle of Chi Bi

Narrator: Kiyomori's ingenious plan should have led to total victory. However, Lu Bu's defection to Wu dramatically evened the odds. Due to this sudden change of events, the might of Lu Bu, combined with the indomitable spirit of Wu, managed to overcome Kiyomori's nefarious plot. However, Kiyomori had foreseen the possibility of this defeat, and held one remaining card up his sleeve. That card was none other than the return of the Serpent King Orochi. Once again, the Wu Army, Kiyomori and Lu Bu found themselves engaged in full-scale war. This time, the battle would take place at the cliffs of Chi Bi. Lu Bu, who merely wished to prove himself the strongest... And the Wu Army, who hoped to once again bring peace to the wartorn land... Orochi lay in wait for them both...

Prelude Scene

Motochika Chosokabe: Lu Bu... Even I would not be so bold as to challenge Orochi alone.

Random Character Comment:
Zhao Yun: Lu Bu's sights were set only on Orochi... Perhaps that is why he could so readily betray Kiyomori...
Liu Bei: He does not change, does he? Even his betrayal of Kiyomori was only another step on the path he has set himself.
Zhang Liao: The warrior's spirit that resides within Lu Bu could no longer stand to be constricted uner Kiyomori.
Xu Huang: Lu Bu knows that if he can defeat Orochi, he will finally reach the pinnacle of human military achievement.
Pang De: Lu Bu strives above all else to fight Orochi. Such is the path of the true warrior.
Sun Quan: For that, he betrayed Kiyomori... Does his desire to be the best have no limit?
Lu Meng: He betrayed Kiyomori so he could fight Orochi... His behavior is impossible to predict.
Zhou Tai: Lu Bu... This is rash.
Ling Tong: Betraying Kiyomori, taking on Orochi on his own. Lu Bu's crazy.
Diao Chan: My lord only wishes to prove himself the strongest... Nothing else matters to him.
Zhang Jiao: Lu Bu has turned upon his very own in a vain attempt to claim ultimate glory. Poor, misguided fool...
Taigong Wang: Of his own will he chooses to face Orochi alone. Hehe, I do not understand humans at times.
Yoshitsune Minamoto: And this is his vision? Is he a fool? Or does he truly believe he can win?
Keiji Maeda: Ha! Well, that's Lu Bu for ya. He's his own man, I'll say that much for him.
Goemon Ishikawa: That Lu Bu's one crazy fella. But he's got guts, that's for sure.
Oichi: The path he makes for himself is one that only he is capable of. Only he is able to see the rationale in his actions.
Magoichi Saika: I don't believe it. You guys think it would be all right for us to just watch, and see how he does?
No: I knew Lu Bu would never be happy working for Kiyomori... That man has his own lust for power to satisfy.
Nagamasa Azai: He's turned against his only comrade, Kiyomori. Such recklessness... or perhaps he was spurred into such action by something?
Kanetsugu Naoe: I cannot understand his motivations. He is neither a man of honor nor of reason.
Musashi Miyamoto: He's taking on that monster all by himself? That guy's gotta be crazier than me...
Kojiro Sasaki: Orochi is the one truly mighty warrior Lu Bu's been searching for his whole life. This is the ultimate test of his strength.

Sun Jian: There is no time to lose. We must follow Lu Bu at once! The burning spirit of Wu will ensure that Orochi is returned to ashes for good.

Chapter 1 - Battle of Lou Sang Village

Narrator: The Serpent King had been slain... However, the peace that followed was to be short-lived. Following the defeat of Orochi, the land was largely free of the chaos he had brought with him. However, a number of smaller skirmishes continued to break out across the land. Lu Bu, Masamune Date and Cao Cao all mobilized their armies in an attempt to seize power, and the land began to suffer from the daily confrontations between man and Orochi's followers. On top of all this, Dong Zhuo, determined to rule the world in tyranny with Orochi gone, suddenly made a play for power. Unable to sit by and watch any longer, Sakon Shima strengthened his resolve and vowed to prevent the land from slipping back into chaos. His first move was to face Dong Zhuo's army and rescue Zhang Jiao...

Prelude Scene

Sakon Shima: Well, I'll give us full marks for courage, but however you look at it, we're heavily outnumbered.

Musashi Miyamoto: Don't worry about it. We're here to give you a hand.

Yoshihiro Shimazu: No victory is as sweet as one claimed against all odds.

Sakon Shima: ...What are you all doing here?

Xu Huang: All of the days I've spent training and perfecting my abilities have been for this!

Huang Zhong: Finally, a chance to show what I'm made of!

Guan Ping: Lord Sakon, I also will lend my blade to your cause!

Sakon Shima: Well... I'm certainly grateful for the help. We're gonna need every man we've got.

Aftermath Scene

First Part

Zhang Jiao: Sakon, my fine fellow. The heavens are rejoicing in your good deed.

Sakon Shima: I dunno about the heavens, but I'm glad to see someone's happy. By the way, that guy who showed up before... Is he a friend of yours, or something?

Zhang Jiao: I know him not. I assumed he was an acquaintance of yours.

Sakon Shima: No, I'm pretty sure I'd remember running into someone like that. Anyway, my preacher friend, I got a feeling things are gonna get worse before they get better. I'm off to see Lord Shingen. Feel free to tag along if you'd like.

Second Part

Sakon Shima: Shingen, Kenshin and Nobunaga... Last time we needed that uneasy alliance to defeat Orochi. But the three of them are back to their stubborn old ways again now. Unless I can convince them to join forces again, we've got a pretty bleak future ahead of us here. I'll start with ol' Shingen. He and I speak the same language. Lord Shingen, I will have you join our cause, or die trying!

Chapter 2 - Battle of Ji Province

Narrator: Faced with the resolve that Sakon and his men displayed in wanting to save the land, Dong Zhuo and his army were left with no choice but to retreat. However, this victory alone was not enough to quell the chaos. Sensing this, Sakon went to visit Shingen Takeda in an effort to bolster his ranks. Sakon hurriedly led his forces towards their destination. Usually not one to rush things, Sakon could not help but think about that mysterious man... The man who had joined Sakon in the last battle and then left just as suddenly... His kind and watchful eye seemed to be driving Sakon towards something. On the way to meet Shingen, he came across Xu Huang and Musashi Miyamoto, under attack from a group of mysterious soldiers while training for their next battle. The two warriors immediately went to meet the oncoming enemy. There, they would be reunited with a most unexpected visitor...

Prelude Scene

Xu Huang: It is not within the spirit of the warrior to attack a man while he is training.

Musashi Miyamoto: Look, it's Da Ji! And she's got a girl!

Xu Huang: Da Ji... So she's still alive! Musashi, we can't let her get away! After her!

Aftermath Scene

First Part

Kojiro Sasaki: It's wonderful, Musashi, to be able to fight alongside you like this.

Musashi Miyamoto: This guy - he's not as weird as he looks. And he knows what he's doing with a sword, believe me.

Xu Huang: Hmm, with Da Ji plotting to reawaken Orochi, we need all the help we can get. I won't turn down any warrior that wishes to fight.

Kojiro Sasaki: Thank you, Musashi.

Second Part

Sakon Shima: My Lord Shingen, may I say how wonderful it is to see you. However, these times are not so pleasurable. Da Ji has hatched a plan to revive the Serpent King. I need your help to stop her.

Shingen Takeda: What exactly do you need?

Sakon Shima: The able men of the Takeda, Yukimura's spear... and of course, the strategic genius of you yourself, my lord.

Shingen Takeda: Are you sure you don't want my castle while you're at it? ...Ha, very well, you shall have what you have asked for.

Chapter 3 - Rescue at Hasedo

Narrator: The return of Orochi was near. This news, so casually thrown about by Orochi's strategist Da Ji, fell like a thunderous boom on the ears of Xu Huang and Musashi. Following the battle, the two men brought along their newfound ally, Kojiro Sasaki, and hurried back to tell Sakon of what they had learned. After hearing their report, Sakon increased the pace of his march. The mysterious man's silent appeal remained with him... Perhaps he wished him to prevent the revival of the Serpent King. Having arrived at the camp of the Takeda Army, Sakon met with its leader, Shingen Takeda. Sensing Sakon's passion, Shingen agreed to help him in his cause. The first move in the effort to capture Da Ji had been made. The consummate strategist, Sakon immediately began thinking of his next move...

Prelude Scene

Shingen Takeda: Sakon, do you not think Da Ji and her infernal army might be a little much for the Takeda alone to handle?

Sakon Shima: Yes, my lord. To that end, I was considering asking for help from Lord Kenshin. In fact, I have something of a plan...

Shingen Takeda: Do you now?

Yukimura Sanada: Reporting! Lord Kanetsugu is under attack from forces unknown! My lord! Please allow me to go to his aid!

Shingen Takeda: Opportunity knocks, Sakon. You should make sure to answer.

Sakon Shima: You are always a step ahead of the game, my lord. Yukimura, I will join the fray as well.

Aftermath Scene

First Part

Kanetsugu Naoe: My lord, I bring before you Lord Sakon. Please grant him an audience.

Kenshin Uesugi: You have my thanks for rescuing Kanetsugu.

Sakon Shima: My lord Kenshin, Da Ji is plotting Orochi's return. In addition, we also have intelligence concerning this man Kiyomori... He too appears to be working on the side of evil. We need your help now more than ever.

Random Character Comment:
Zhao Yun: Lord Kenshin, if we cooperate, even Da Ji and Kiyomori will fear our might!
Guan Yu: Lord Kenshin, now is the time to act! Join us to put an end to all this mayhem!
Ma Chao: My lord, the time to act is now! With our combined powers, we could send these evil beings back to the oblivion from which they sprang!
Cao Cao: The world is at the brink of plunging into never ending chaos. Would you leave it to this fate, Kenshin?
Xu Huang: Please, my lord, come with us! We can't let the crimes of Kiyomori and Da Ji go unpunished.
Lu Xun: Da Ji and Kiyomori are wary of our joining forces. Lord Kenshin, let us work to vanquish this great evil together!
Sun Jian: Together, there is nothing that can stop us. Let us sink our fangs into Da Ji's nefarious plan.
Da Qiao: Lord Kenshin, please! Join us in our struggle!
Diao Chan: In order to light up the darkness that is engulfing our world... we need your strength, Lord Kenshin!
Zhang Jiao: Lord Kenshin, we are doing the heavens' work. Join us, and together we will spread the good word!
Yukimura Sanada: Lord Kenshin! Show us the strength you displayed the last time Orochi threatened this land!
Goemon Ishikawa: All the bit-part players are giving it everything. Don't you think it's about time a real star showed his face?
Nagamasa Azai: I've heard that you are a true man of honor. To turn your back on it now would be unforgivable!
Nene: We're trying to make sure we have a peaceful future. You stop being so stubborn and join in right now!
Musashi Miyamoto: Listen... Uhh... The thing is, we kinda need ya. Oh, I'm no good at this. Just fight with us, will ya?
Gracia: Lord Kenshin, we need your help. Sakon's a bit wild, but his heart's in the right place.

Kenshin Uesugi: The flames of war are not yet doused. Ha... I shall go forth.

Kanetsugu Naoe: My lord! The dictates of honor have roused you! Then I, too, will stand beside you on the field of war.

Second Part

Fu Xi: Excellent work, Sakon. You have done a wonderful job uniting the Takeda and Uesugi clans.

Sakon Shima: Me? I didn't do anything. I think you deserve the credit, Fu Xi.

Fu Xi: All I was doing was searching for one who had the power to unite these forces. I know now that you are the man who can stop Orochi from returning.

Sakon Shima: You mean this was a test? I take it you got the information you wanted?

Fu Xi: My apologies. By way of atonement, allow me to join your cause.

Chapter 4 - Battle of Chang Ban

Narrator: Sakon defeated the enigmatic Sun Wukong and rescued Kanetsugu Naoe of the Uesugi Clan, who then introduced Sakon to Kenshin Uesugi himself. Following their meeting, Kenshin agreed to give Sakon his aid. So far, everything was proceeding according to Sakon's plan. However, there were things that even his brilliance could not predict. One was the motivation of their new ally, the mystic Fu Xi... The man who had tested Sakon in an effort to measure his worthiness. And the other was Kiyomari Taira... He was a most dangerous figure who used his demonic hordes to attack anybody who stood in his way of reviving Orochi. As the forces of light and dark prepared to do batle, Sakon began to make his next move...

Prelude Scene

First Part

Sakon Shima: The way I see it, I'm two good men short of what I need to put Kiyomori and Da Ji in their place: Lord Nobunaga and Masamune...

Kanetsugu Naoe: Masamune... I fear his loyalty to Orochi is not yet broken. We let a good man slip away...

Sakon Shima: I hope you haven't given up on him yet, Kanetsugu. If we could somehow convince him to defect, it could be the telling blow in this war. Perhaps he would listen to a man who commands respect - a man like Lord Shingen, for instance...

Shingen Takeda: Flattery will get you nowhere... Or so they say, but I've always enjoyed it, personally. I'll have a word with him.

Second Part

Random Character Comment:
Jiang Wei: Lord Shingen, is that not Da Ji with Masamune? This could make things difficult...
Xiahou Dun: Have a look at Masamune's camp... Da Ji is there. I don't think we have to bother talking with him.
Zhen Ji: Please look. Da Ji is in Masamune's camp. Can we trust someone who consorts with such people?
Cao Pi: Ha, look at that. So Masamune schemes with Da Ji... Then there is little chance that he will join us.
Sun Quan: Lord Shingen, is that not Da Ji with Masamune? If so, then he will never join us.
Fu Xi: Da Ji is in the enemy ranks. This changes things.
Yukimura Sanada: My lord! Da Ji is in Date's camp... Why...?
Magoichi Saika: Impossible... Masamune has teamed up with Da Ji? Well... he always was a sucker for a pretty face.
No: Poor Masamune's having his ear chewed by that harridan Da Ji.
Hanzo Hattori: Da Ji is in Masamune's army.
Ina: Lord Shingen! Masamune and Da Ji are together. I think they are up to something... improper!
Yoshihiro Shimazu: Da Ji's in Masamune's camp. Looks like he's shown his hand.
Ginchiyo Tachibana: Look at Masamune's forces. Da Ji is within them. It appears time is against us.
Kanetsugu Naoe: Look! Da Ji is in Masamune's ranks. We must force him to see reason, or it will be too late!
Kotaro Fuma: Masamune is with Da Ji... The balance of this world tips even more toward bedlam.

Shingen Takeda: They're refusing to see our envoy... I suppose force is the only thing they'll listen to then.

Aftermath Scene

First Part

Sima Yi: You are the one who saw through my plans? ... I hate to admit it, but you were brilliant.

Shingen Takeda: Oh, you flatter me. I am not fit to share a battlefield with you, my lord. You wouldn't consider using your magnificent skills against Da Ji and Kiyomori, would you?

Sima Yi: I should like to challenge you again. But for now, I will aid you.

Second Part

Shingen Takeda: I'm sorry, Sakon. It seems Masamune has no intention of cooperating.

Sakon Shima: There's no need to apologize. I'll just have to think of some way of doing this without Masamune.

Random Character Comment:
Zhuge Liang: Lord Sakon, there must be other forces that despise Kiyomori and Da Ji, and would be willing to assist...
Pang Tong: Chin up, Sakon. I believe there are still a number of other forces who don't exactly see eye to eye with Kiyomori.
Yue Ying: There are still those who would oppose Da Ji and Kiyomori. There is no need to rely on Lords Date and Nobunaga.
Sima Yi: Sakon! There are others who fight against Da Ji and Kiyomori. Are there not?
Cao Pi: Sakon, you should broaden your thinking some. There should still be forces willing to join the fight against Da Ji and Kiyomori.
Zuo Ci: There are useful men besides Nobunaga and Masamune. Think of the suffering if Da Ji and Kiyomori are allowed to prosper.
Taigong Wang: General Sakon, do not waste your time thinking of what cannot be. Think of something or someone else.
Nu Wa: There are not many that follow Da Ji. Are there not others that will aid you?
Mitsuhide Akechi: Even if we cannot garner the aid of Lords Nobunaga and Date, there are others out there who would be willing to aid us.
Oichi: Even without relying on my brother or Lord Masamune, there are others who would join the fight against Da Ji and Kiyomori.
No: Masamune's too stubborn to rely on. Perhaps you should consider someone else.
Hideyoshi Toyotomi: Let's change tack, Sakon. There must be others out there fighting Kiyomori and Da Ji.
Mitsunari Ishida: There are others besides Nobunaga and Masamune. Surely you must have thought of someone else?

Sakon Shima: You're right of course... In fact, a certain name does spring to-...

Kanetsugu Naoe: Sakon - Lu Bu and Kiyomori have joined forces, and are laying waste to the men of Wu!

Sakon Shima: Wu... Sun Ce would be a useful ally...

Huang Zhong: Lord Sakon. How about giving me a chance to show what I can do?

Yoshihiro Shimazu: I, too, am prepared to stake my life for this cause.

Sima Yi: One moment, Would not I be more suited to that task?

Sakon Shima: I'm delighted to see you're all so eager. I have just the job for you...

Chapter 5 - Battle of Liang Province

Narrator: The Dragon could only exist by the side of the Serpent... It was clear that the paths of Sakon, who hoped to prevent the resurrection of Orochi, and Masamune, would inevitably diverge. Now, news reached Sakon that Lu Bu and Kiyomori had joined forces to attack Liang Province, which was being defended by the warriors of Wu. Lu Bu, Dong Zhuo, Da Ji, Masamune, Kiyomori... The forces who were conspiring to resurrect Orochi had formed a massive alliance. Sakon joined Sima Yi, whom he had met in the previous battle, and enlisted the help of two veteran warriors to save Wu. He entrusted the fate of his plan to his newfound allies...

Prelude Scene

Huang Zhong: Liang Province is about to be obliterated by Lu Bu's army. The remnants of the Wu Army are truly to be pitied...

Yoshihiro Shimazu: Stranded, and separated from their main force... Now that sounds like a cause I want to join!

Sima Yi: With my wits and your brawn, we can survive this. I prefer using as opposed to being used, and yet I will fulfill my task.

Aftermath Scene

First Part

Gan Ning: You guys really bailed us out. It was looking pretty grim there.

Lu Meng: For saving our lives, I wish to aid your cause. Such is my desire, and the desire of the Wu Army as well! From now on, you can count on our help... We will resist the tyranny of Lu Bu and Kiyomori.

Random Character Comment:
Huang Zhong: An alliance with Wu is exactly what we have been hoping for. That Sakon is smarter than he looks.
Guan Ping: Wu joins the fight as well! It's all as Lord Sakon planned.
Sima Yi: It has all come out as Sakon planned. With my aid, that was inevitable.
Xu Huang: The Wu have joined the campaign! Lord Sakon's plan is slowly becoming reality.
Zhang Jiao: And now Wu joins our cause. Sakon, I do believe you are on a divine mission.
Yukimura Sanada: It's as if we gained a million allies this day! Lord Sakon, your plans have borne much fruit!
Yoshihiro Shimazu: Looks like Sakon's big gamble has paid off handsomely.
Kanetsugu Naoe: Wu will fight with us? It is as I said - great heroes will come to one who has honor in his heart!
Musashi Miyamoto: We're grateful to have you on board! Looks like ol' Sakon knew what he was talking about.

Second Part

Fu Xi: I see you managed to gain the cooperation of Wu.

Sakon Shima: It's nice to have some success for a change... And now, we must quickly move to the final phase of our preparations...

Fu Xi: You are in a hurry? Does the thought of Orochi concern you?

Sakon Shima: Well, it's been some time since we let Da Ji get away, and there's also Kiyomori to worry about. I only hope this alliance will not have been formed in vain.

Chapter 6 - Battle of Hu Lao Gate

Narrator: Indebted to Sakon, Wu quickly agreed to an alliance. Without so much as a moment's rest, Sakon moved to the next phase of his plan. Sakon knew that eventually, he would require the cooperation of Nobunaga Oda. Determined to convince Nobunaga to join his cause, Sakon set off together with Guan Ping. Detecting a hint of anxiousness in Sakon's actions, Fu Xi tried to convince him to proceed with caution. However, despite the anxiety that Fu Xi sensed, he also noticed a distinct air of confidence about Sakon as well...

Prelude Scene

Sakon Shima: You think Nobunaga will agree to help us?

Guan Ping: Do not fear, Lord Sakon! He will surely listen to reason!

Sakon Shima: Things are rarely ever that simple with him, though...

Guan Ping: ...Lord Sakon! Look ahead at Hu Lao Gate! It is Kiyomori and Dong Zhuo!

Sakon Shima: Looks like the enemy knows exactly what we're up to. They're trying to stop us from reaching Nobunaga.

Random Character Comment:
Zhao Yun: I will sweep them all aside in one fell stroke...
Zhang Fei: Ha! They are nothing! I will brush them all away like gnats!
Ma Chao: Hah, they cannot hope to stop me! My horse and I are an unstoppable juggernaut of justice!
Huang Zhong: Devious little snakes, aren't you? If you want a fight, though, I won't disappoint.
Jiang Wei: I must not fail in this task I was entrusted with. I must persevere.
Wei Yan: I... cut through...
Guan Ping: We cannot fall back now. We have no choice but to cut through those who would impede us.
Zhang Liao: Stand aside or I will carve a path through your corpses!
Xu Huang: The only way I'm going is forward... They will stand down or forfeit their lives!
Zhang He: A most grand welcome... I must not waste it. I shall grant them all heroic deaths.
Lu Xun: All we must do is march forward. We will be the blade that rips the enemy asunder!
Taishi Ci: My duty propels me forward! Let none stand in my way!
Gan Ning: Trying to stop me, huh? Hah! Alright then, I'll just have to bash you all aside!
Sun Ce: Anyone gets in our way, they're gonna regret it. No matter what, we're getting through!
Huang Gai: Retreat is not an option! Attack, attack, and smash them all to pieces!
Lu Bu: You dare interfere with me? Do you not value your lives?
Zhang Jiao: Any who stand in our way are contravening the very will of the heavens. We must judge them, and strike them down!
Meng Huo: Troublesome fools! I'll mash you all together and swallow you all whole!
Zhu Rong: I warn you now - you're playing with fire by getting in my way.
Sun Wukong: When you don't have time to go around... the only thing left to do is go through!
Yukimura Sanada: The enemy in my path will simply be swept aside. I cannot fail!
Keiji Maeda: They just can't get enough of me, can they? All right then, let's give 'em what they want.
Goemon Ishikawa: I can't go back now. We're just gonna have to roll on through!
Kenshin Uesugi: None can be allowed to stop us. Our mission is divine.
Masamune Date: Idiots! This dragon can not be stopped!
Ranmaru Mori: We must form an alliance with Lord Nobunaga. My sword will cut a path to him, come what may.
Nagamasa Azai: I won't be deterred by this! My lance will skewer you along with your treachery!
Nene: You really are very naughty, aren't you? You get out of the way this instant!
Ginchiyo Tachibana: They dare block the advance of the Tachibana? Let us see how much punishment they can take!
Kanetsugu Naoe: We must teach these scoundrels that they cannot stand in the path of the righteous.
Musashi Miyamoto: My swords will cut us a path to Nobunaga.
Toshiie Maeda: Just deal with the enemy in front of you - that's how the Devil Shibata's army fights!
Motochika Chosokabe: The enemy fears our advance... It appears Nobunaga holds the key to stopping Orochi's return.

Sakon Shima: Brave words... I hope you're ready to back them up.

Aftermath Scene

Sakon Shima: Brave men of the Oda Army, I hope you will continue to join us in our fight against the evil tearing this land apart.

Hideyoshi Toyotomi: I've heard all about the work you've been doing, Sakon. I'll do whatever I can to help.

Sakon Shima: In that case, can I ask you to help out Lord Kenshin? He's laying siege to Kiyomori inside Bai Di Castle.

Hideyoshi Toyotomi: You don't mess around, do you? I kinda hoped I might get a small break first, but whatever...

Chapter 7 - Battle of Bai Di Castle

Narrator: Sakon and his men defeated the armies of Kiyomori and Dong Zhuo at Hu Lao Gate. Just as Sakon had anticipated, the arrival of the Nobunaga Army was the deciding factor between victory and defeat. Oda, Takeda, Uesugi, Wu... The alliance to prevent the resurrection of Orochi was finally complete. In response, Kiyomori quietly concentrated his forces at Bai Di Castle. Believing that Kiyomori was now attempting to revive Orochi, Sakon immediately ordered Nobunaga and Kenshin to attack Bai Di Castle...

Prelude Scene

Shingen Takeda: Do you think Nobunaga and Kenshin will be able to bury their differences and get along?

Sakon Shima: If they don't, we're in serious trouble...

Random Character Comment:
Zhuge Liang: Lord Sakon, you seem anxious. I understand your feelings, however...
Xing Cai: Is something... bothering you?
Sima Yi: Sakon, your impatience is showing.
Zhen Ji: You seem disturbed... How rare.
Cao Pi: Hmph, keep your head about you. There is no reason to fret.
Pang De: Don't let impatience get the better of you.
Zhou Yu: You're pretty worried right now, aren't you, Sakon?
Lu Meng: Sakon, you seem a little pale. Are you worried?
Zhang Jiao: Comrade, you know you can confide in me. This worries you, does it not?
Fu Xi: I see concern on your face, Sakon.
Mitsuhide Akechi: Sakon... you seem agitated... Are you worried?
Oichi: If our enemies succeed in awakening Orochi, victory will be theirs. But you won't let that happen... will you?
Shingen Takeda: You're a little concerned, aren't you?
No: You look a little uptight, Sakon. Is there anything I can do to help you relax?
Yoshihiro Shimazu: Does the situation worry you, Sakon?
Kojiro Sasaki: You look upset, Sakon.

Sakon Shima: We let Da Ji get away, Kiyomori's still out there... And who knows when Orochi could be back. So yeah, I admit it, I'm a little tense.

Aftermath Scene

Hideyoshi Toyotomi: I bring bad news, Sakon. Orochi's back.

Sakon Shima: All that effort... Bringing everyone together, defeating Kiyomori and Da Ji... It was all for nothing... I'm sorry, Fu Xi. I wasn't the man you were looking for.

Fu Xi: Oh, I disagree. This is far from over. You have united the three great leaders. Surely that effort was not in vain?

Sakon Shima: I suppose it's true we haven't put our final plan into place yet... If we all work together, we may still be able to stop him. Besides, what other choice do we have? Lord Shingen, will you join me on the battlefield one last time?

Shingen Takeda: Don't play the innocent with me. I know you saw all of this before it happened. I'd be glad to accompany a man of such vision.

Random Character Comment:
Zhuge Liang: A most impressive and well-devised strategy. Even Orochi should run in fear of you.
Jiang Wei: I am ashamed that I allowed myself to be distressed by Orochi's revival. Lord Sakon, your foresight was most impressive!
Pang Tong: Always a step ahead, eh, Sakon? Impressive.
Sima Yi: You have planned well. You have earned my praise, Sakon.
Zhou Yu: So we were all just dancing in the palm of Sakon's hand. I hope to see the same cunning in the final battle as well.
Lu Xun: Lord Sakon, your foresight and planning are admirable. I, myself, will strive to achieve a similar level of cunning.
Lu Meng: You even had a plan in place for Orochi's reawakening... Sakon, truly you are a great strategist.
Taigong Wang: Hehe, I must remember not to underestimate these humans.
Fu Xi: Haha! Excellent work, Sakon. I look forward to the final phase of your plan.
Nobunaga Oda: Haha... Impressive vision, Sakon.
Mitsuhide Akechi: You amassed this great army all for this moment... Sakon, this was a brilliant startegy.
Hideyoshi Toyotomi: You knew all along that they were planning to bring him back, didn't you? You might have told us!
Mitsunari Ishida: Anyone could have foreseen that. Sakon's skill lies in his ability to put his plans into practice.

Sakon Shima: Please. What strategist in his right mind plans to fail?

Chapter 8 - Battle of Sekigahara

Narrator: Oda, Takeda, Uesugi, Wu... This mighty alliance was not formed only to prevent Orochi's resurrection. In the event that those efforts failed, the alliance would be able to provide a united resistance against the Serpent King, and send him quickly back to the depths from which he came. With the experience of the last battle behind them, the men made preparations for the upcoming battle, to realize Sakon's vision. Having watched events unfold, Fu Xi managed a smile as he realized that his assessment of Sakon had been correct all along. Orochi had been resurrected, and was surrounded by his strategist Da Ji, and the One-Eyed Dragon, Masamune. The final battle lay ahead. Sakon mustered every last bit of strength he had for the upcoming battle. For to defeat Orochi would demand nothing less than his absolute best...

Prelude Scene

Sakon Shima: It looks like Masamune has sided with Orochi after all.

Shingen Takeda: He believes Orochi is the way of the future. It only makes sense that he'll return to him now that he's back.

Sakon Shima: You have to admire his loyalty, I suppose. Even if it will only bring him the bitterness of defeat.

Shingen Takeda: And no doubt it'll be your magnificent leadership that brings Orochi to his knees, hmm?

Sakon Shima: Well, I don't want to get to far ahead of myself... But, yeah, that's about it.

Orochi Story Mode

Chapter 1 - Battle of Odawara Castle

Narrator: In ancient times, the Serpent King, Orochi, was imprisoned for the multitude of crimes he had committed against humanity and the havoc he had wrought. Confined to the mystic realm, he was sentenced to suffer eternal punishment, and was detested by all those around him. Da Ji alone felt sympathy for Orochi, and assisted him in escaping from his prison. Freed from his shackles, Orochi used his demonic powers to warp the boundaries of time and space, and set about gathering some of the bravest warriors the world had ever known. Orochi's objective was simple. He wished to once again wreak havoc across the land, this time by testing his might against these heroes of history...

Prelude Scene

Da Ji: Look at this, my lord! So many wonderful little playthings for us... My lord? Hey, who are you?!

Dong Zhuo: So you are the ones who created this pleasant world? My name is Dong Zhuo. If we join forces, all of our ambitions and desires will come true! How about it?

Da Ji: How very forward of you... But I do like the way you think. All right then, you're in. Now, then, Lord Orochi. Who would you like us to wipe out first?

Orochi: I care not. If they are too weak to survive, then they must be ground to dust.

Da Ji: Oh, you always know exactly what I want to hear! Okay, then, let's begin with... that castle.

Aftermath Scene

First Part

Da Ji: It's Keiji, isn't it? So, which is it then? Have you come to surrender, or to die?

Keiji Maeda: Get outta my way. It's Orochi we're here to see.

Da Ji: That's "Lord Orochi" to you. It seems like you still need a little training...

Orochi: Fall back, Da Ji. So, you are the one known as Keiji?

Keiji Maeda: So this is the mighty Orochi. Bright and cheery type of guy, aren't ya.

Orochi: Ha...

Keiji Maeda: So anyway, what is it you're fighting for, huh? World domination? Riches? You got a girl snake somewhere you're trying to impress? No... You're above all that, aren't you... There's something else. Let me join up. I want in.

Orochi: If you wish. It matters little to me.

Second Part

Kotaro Fuma: Your very existence ensures the promulgation of chaos. Allow me to assist your cause.

Orochi: This excites you...? Very well. Your task will be to terminate all who are unworthy.

Chapter 2 - Battle of Cheng Du

Narrator: In the realm of mortals, Odawara Castle was said to be impregnable. However, before the might of Orochi, it was reduced to nothing more than a pile of rubble. The overwhelming power and sheer violence that Orochi displayed, attracted the likes of Dong Zhuo and Kotaro Fuma to his side. The greatest maverick the land had ever seen, Keiji Maeda, also joined the Serpent King. However, it was not Orochi's power that drew Keiji to his side. It was the darkness that was submerged in the depths of Orochi's black heart. Keiji caught a glimpse of this darkness for a brief moment, when he fought against Orochi. Some opposed Orochi, some feared him, and some were drawn inexorably to him. Yet the end result was always the same. Surveying the field, Orochi advanced his army in search of yet another worthy opponnt...

Prelude Scene

Da Ji: So, this is our next target? Hmph, it looks pathetic. Tell me, what do our scouts have to report?

Random Character Comment:
Sun Wukong: This city is suffering and cut off from its allies. What's the point of attacking this place?
Goemon Ishikawa: I dunno whose town that is, but it looks deserted. I reckon it'd probably blow away in a stiff breeze.
Kunoichi: I sorta liked the place. It's cozy, in a deserted ghost-town kinda way.
Magoichi Saika: That's just some poor, seedy lookin' town. There's no need to go around smashing it up.
Hanzo Hattori: It is isolated. Their numbers are low.
Ranmaru Mori: This poor little town has nothing left... Let's just leave it alone.
Nene: It looks like an isolated city. It has barely any troops, and no signs of resistance.
Kotaro Fuma: The town is isolated, and almost empty. Its destruction will bring no great satisfaction.

Da Ji: It'll make a nice change of pace - a bit of a holiday, if you like. Destroy them.

Aftermath Scene

Da Ji: So, what shall I do with the great Liu Bei? Tell me, what would you like me to do with him?

Zhuge Liang: While Shu has suffered a grave defeat, they still have many brave officers remaining. They are far from finished. With their lord in custody, they will surely come to rescue him. This will provide great opportunities to neutralize them.

Da Ji: Hehe... You're just buying time, trying anything you can to keep your lord alive, aren't you? But, for a desperate plan, it actually sounds kinda fun. Let's do it. I'll keep Liu Bei alive - for now. And remember, you put one foot out of line, and you know what will happen.

Chapter 3 - Battle of Kawanakajima

Narrator: Having captured Cheng Du, Da Ji took Liu Bei hostage, and moved to secure the services of the one known as the Sleeping Dragon, Zhuge Liang. Seeking to prevent harm from coming to Liu Bei, Zhuge Liang agreed to serve Da Ji. From then on, the Dragon would serve on the side of darkness. Meanwhile, having heard of Shu's fate, various factions around the land began to rise in opposition to Orochi. For they knew that as long as Orochi was free, mankind's very existence was threatened. Orochi's camp was busy making preparations for the impending counterattack from the humans. Amidst this frenzied atmosphere, Orochi simply smiled in eager anticipation of the coming battle...

Prelude Scene

Random Character Comment:
Zhang Fei: Da Ji! The enemy is attacking! They have some nerve striking back at us!
Wei Yan: Enemies... come!
Dian Wei: Da Ji! Looks like someone who doesn't value their own life is on the way to attack us...
Gan Ning: Da Ji, the enemy is approaching! Let's put the heat on them!
Lu Bu: The enemy is approaching... Hah, I almost pity them.
Dong Zhuo: Da Ji! There are some fools plotting to attack us! What do you plan to do about it?
Meng Huo: It looks as if the enemy is going to attack. Do they really think they can beat us?
Kiyomori Taira: The humans are attacking... Ha, they're a plucky little bunch, aren't they?
Motochika Chosokabe: Shingen and Kenshin are on the move. It seems they are happy for their men to die.
Kojiro Sasaki: The enemy is attacking. Let me cut them down, before they suffer any further.

Da Ji: Really? How wonderful! That saves us from having to go and get them. Let's make sure we have a fabulous reception waiting for them.

Aftermath Scene

First Part

Da Ji: Well, that was disappointing. Frankly, I expected more. That was hardly enough to make Lord Orochi roll over in his sleep.

Zhuge Liang: It is probable that the enemy has saved their main forces for later.

Da Ji: I suppose you'd better head out there and take care of them. It all sounds a little dull for my liking. Oh, and Zhuge Liang? If you find anyone interesting, do make sure to bring them back to me. I need a new plaything.

Zhuge Liang: Understood. Now, with your leave, I will begin preparations for battle.

Second Part

Keiji Maeda: So listen, whaddaya make of ol' Orochi?

Random Character Comment:
Yue Ying: He has the power to subjugate all before him... He intrigues me to no end.
Xiahou Dun: He is my lord's biggest obstacle... I follow him for now, but someday...
Sima Yi: His ambition will swallow the world. He exceeds mere human understanding.
Zhen Ji: Just standing by his side I feel tremendous power. That power is possibly beyond the understanding of men.
Lu Xun: He massacres the innocent without a pittance of remorse... He truly is a demon.
Xiao Qiao: Hmm... He's a bit scary I guess... ...And his skin is all shiny and slimy...
Zhou Tai: He is despair.
Lu Bu: He is perhaps a warrior without equal... But I don't like him muscling in on my territory.
Dong Zhuo: With his power I can realize my life's wishes. My paradise rests on his scaly hide!
Kiyomori Taira: He is one of a kind... The only one capable of ruling this realm.
Himiko: Everyone says he's really nasty and horrible, but I think he's kinda sweet.
Mitsuhide Akechi: The personification of evil... His very presence sucks the tranquility from people's hearts.
Okuni: Oh, you're jealous! How adorable! But you know I only have eyes for you.
Yoshimoto Imagawa: I do hope he'll play kemari with me.
Ina: He must be insane, to have created this world. No matter how strong he is, that will be his weakness.
Nagamasa Azai: He possesses overwhelming power... A single word of his is enough to cow a common man.
Nene: Oh, he tries to cover it up with his appetite for destruction and world domination, but really he's just a shy little boy.
Kotaro Fuma: He is a raging current, swallowing all before him, without discrimination, care or mercy.

Keiji Maeda: Hmm... Yeah, I see that. But for me, I dunno... The guy's got a tragic streak, a real death wish. I kinda respect that.

Chapter 4 - Battle of He Fei

Narrator: The Orochi Army defeated the combined forces of the Takeda and Uesugi. Despite the pride both of them had in their strategic abilities, even their combined strength was no match for Orochi's might. Orochi's strategist, Da Ji, anticipated continued resistance from the humans, and formed a mobile unit to meet them. She entrusted command of the unit to Zhuge Liang. The purpose of this was two-fold. Not only was she testing Zhuge Liang's loyalty, but she hoped to instill a sense of despair amongst the humans by forcing them to fight each other. Left with no other choice, Zhuge Liang agreed to lead the unit and headed for He Fei, with his true feelings hidden deep within his heart...

Prelude Scene

Zhuge Liang: This is He Fei, under Wu's vigil. They will protect their land vigorously. We must be on our guard.

Random Character Comment:
Xu Zhu: You don't want to really fight, do you? You're only doing this for your lord, right?
Xiahou Yuan: It's gotta be tough, even if it is for your lord... How about you and I talk it out later, eh?
Cao Ren: Killing your fellow man... Would your lord, Liu Bei, approve of that?
Diao Chan: With your lord's life at stake, you are forced to fight these useless battles... Your tale is a tragic but fitting one in this chaotic world.
Zhu Rong: You won't reconsider? Well, I guess you can't - Liu Bei's still captured...
Fu Xi: You serve Da Ji to protect your lord. That is a valid choice, too, I suppose...
Yoshitsune Minamoto: You would attack at the behest of that monster? Is that truly what you desire?
Himiko: It must be hard, doing something so terrible for someone you love... You know you can always talk to me, right?
Yukimura Sanada: You have become a pawn for Orochi... What would your lord think?
Keiji Maeda: And you're okay with this? I mean, fighting a war you don't wanna fight just because your lord's been captured?
Mitsuhide Akechi: You are truly devoted - to become such a monster just to protect your lord...
Oichi: You fight to protect someone dear to you... You have no choice... but it must be hard for you.
Ranmaru Mori: You are prepared to sacrifice your name and honor for your lord. I understand what pain that must bring you.
Ina: I know you do this for your lord, but surely there must have been some other way...?
Kanetsugu Naoe: Wu is innocent in this matter. Why must you insist upon persecuting them?
Nene: Hey! You can't just go around picking fights and saying it's to protect your lord. You know that's no excuse!
Toshiie Maeda: In the battle between emotion and loyalty, loyalty always wins, right? That's the lot of the soldier...
Gracia: Why would you act as the fangs of that terrible snake? Tell me!

Zhuge Liang: ...Have you finished your lecture? Then let us begin, with no further delay.

Aftermath Scene

Zhuge Liang: Orochi has no interest in weaklings. People of Wu, surrender or death... pick your fate.

Sun Ce: You've sold your soul to that monster, have you?

Sun Jian: That's enough... I surrender. But I request that you spare my men. If you need a hostage, take me.

Zhou Yu: No! My lord, you are the pride of Wu! If you were held hostage, Wu would be lost.

Sun Jian: Remember, Zhou Yu. We may be without land, but the spirit of Wu will never break. The day will come when I will return. Until then, the tiger must hide his fangs away.

Zhuge Liang: A wise decision... Then let us all adjourn to Orochi's camp.

Chapter 5 - Battle of Edo Castle

Narrator: Zhuge Liang captured He Fei, and took Sun Jian and a number of other officers from Wu prisoner, leading to a decisive victory for Orochi's forces. Sun Ce and Sun Quan managed to escape capture, but they did not possess the strength to oppose Orochi. As a result, Wu had no choice but to be absorbed into Orochi's forces. First Shu, and now Wu had fallen before Orochi's might. However, even this was not enough to stop the humans, as they increased the intensity of their resistance. Upon hearing this news, Orochi was greatly amused. Perhaps there were still individuals out there who could provide him with a worthy challenge. Once again, the Orochi Army set out, seeking glorious battle...

Prelude Scene

Da Ji: You're not sulking because you lost, are you, Sun Ce? Hehe... I suppose it's only natural. After all, it was Zhuge Liang who beat you.

Sun Ce: ...So, what is it you want me to do?

Da Ji: I want you to use the anger you feel right now, and take it out on the man they call Ieyasu. He's annoying me.

Aftermath Scene

First Part

Da Ji: Your surrender is accepted, Ieyasu. Now, you must serve Lord Orochi, like the pathetic dog you are. Is that understood?

Ieyasu Tokugawa: Of course, my lady. I will offer my body and soul in devotion to my Lord Orochi.

Ina: Our lord has chosen surrender, in order to save his people.

Hanzo Hattori: My weakness brings disgrace to us all...

Second Part

Masamune Date: I believe Orochi is the only one that is capable of total domination. I will lower my flag to him. Allow me to join you! Show me the power that has won you so many a victory!

Da Ji: Do remember to show our lord the respect he deserves... My lord, I believe he might make a valuable ally. What do you think?

Orochi: While some revile me as a demon, others worship me as a god... These humans are not so simply understood.

Chapter 6 - Battle of Yi Ling

Narrator: Orochi crushed the Tokugawa Army at Edo Castle like a massive tidal wave. The defeated commander, Ieyasu Tokugawa, swallowed his pride and agreed to serve Orochi. Like the officers of Wu before him, the Tokugawa were absorbed within the Orochi Army. In contrast to Ieyasu, there was an officer who actually wished to be part of Orochi's army. This was the man known as the One-Eyed Dragon, Masamune Date. Masamune's demeanor and his high opinion of himself intrigued Orochi, who decided to allow Masamune to serve at his side. Man is a most interesting beast, Orochi thought to himself. No matter how much he dominated them, they refused to give up. This determination convinced Orochi to continue in his quest to find the best the mortal realm had to offer. Once again, Orochi set out in search of a challenge. Before him awaited a great hero who stood head and shoulders above his fellow men...

Prelude Scene

Random Character Comment:
Zhao Yun: Lord Orochi, a most hasty departure. I had thought there was no one left able to oppose you?
Liu Bei: Lord Orochi, this march serves no purpose. Where is there one remaining who dares to defy you?
Jiang Wei: This was a sudden deployment, Lord Orochi. I was not aware there was anyone left to attack.
Guan Ping: Lord Orochi, you've broken camp very hastily. Just who are you pursuing?
Lu Xun: A most hastily executed deployment, Lord Orochi. However, I'm not inclined to believe such a rebellion will begin anytime soon.
Sun Quan: My lord, this was a most hasty deployment... I was under the impression that there was no one left to threaten us.
Da Qiao: Lord Orochi! This march was called for very suddenly! Are you after someone again?
Yuan Shao: You surprise me, Orochi, with this sudden attack. I thought we had suppressed all remaining rebels.

Orochi: There is a man by the name of Cao Cao in Wei... Were you attempting to hide his presence from me?

Random Character Response:
Zhao Yun: No, I would never do such a thing...
Liu Bei: Hide something from you? I would not dare. I simply forgot.
Jiang Wei: I judged that he would not be a threat. Which is why I chose not to mention him.
Guan Ping: I... I... didn't think he would... I apologize for my carelessness.
Lu Xun: Forgive me. I had forgotten about Cao Cao.
Sun Quan: M-my lord, surely you jest. I would never...
Da Qiao: No, no! I would never do such a thing! I swear it!
Yuan Shao: O-oh yes, you're right. I had forgotten about him, but he is no threat to you, my lord.

Orochi: Hmm... There is an army ahead. Tell me, Sun Quan, whose army is it?

Sun Quan: That is... the standard of Wei!

Orochi: It is fated thus. The final bastion of hope...

Aftermath Scene

First Part

Orochi: The Hero of Chaos has failed. Humanity has none who can satisfy me after all.

Da Ji: Lord Orochi! I have a message from Ieyasu. He says the Oda Army has set up camp at Mikatagahara. By the way, their leader Nobunaga has the temerity to refer to himself as the "Demon King".

Orochi: Demon King...? Interesting. Da Ji, we must advance upon him at once.

Second Part

Masamune Date: Orochi was able to defeat the Hero of Chaos. He is every bit as powerful as I thought.

Keiji Maeda: You really think so? If you ask me, he didn't seem all that thrilled to win.

Masamune Date: Idiot! Show me a general who isn't pleased by victory and I will show you a fool! Our next prey is Nobunaga! When we defeat the Demon King, you will surely see a smile on Orochi's face.

Chapter 7 - Battle of Mikatagahara

Narrator: Even the defeat of the Wei Army did not bring a smile to Orochi's face. Without even bothering to chase down the remaining Wei troops, Orochi turned his attention to searching for the next challenge. Just then, word came that the Demon King, Nobunaga Oda, had set up camp near Mikatagahara. The fact that a mere mortal dared to give himself such a lofty title was enough to pique Orochi's interest. He set out in order to see this man for himself...

Prelude Scene

Da Ji: So, tell me. What's this Nobunaga like?

Random Character Response:
Oichi: He revels in chaos, loves treachery, and toys with his enemies. He laughs in the face of insurmountable odds. A frightening man.
Magoichi Saika: Hey, I'm not exactly his number one fan, but there's a reason he's called the Demon King.
Hanzo Hattori: He laughs at life, and the heavens love him for it.
Hideyoshi Toyotomi: He's a frightening man - he sees everything.
Yoshimoto Imagawa: He has the power to kick the chaos right out of this world.
Tadakatsu Honda: It is by no mere circumstance that he is also known as the Demon King.
Ieyasu Tokugawa: He is capable of true greatness. Do not underestimate him.
Nagamasa Azai: No man is able to measure the true extent of my brother's abilities... I deeply respect and fear him.
Toshiie Maeda: He's someone to aspire to, but whose greatness can never be reached.
Katsuie Shibata: There is no one greater than him. He has the power to shape this age.

Da Ji: Hmm... Sounds like he's humanity's last hope. Hehe... This should be a lot of fun. Let's smash him to pieces.

Aftermath Scene

Da Ji: It's a bit sad, isn't it... It looks like there's no one left who can stand up to you, my lord.

Orochi: Do you not feel it, Da Ji?

Da Ji: It's... It's cold... It's not them, is it? It can't be...

Orochi: They think they can take me back. They are wrong.

Chapter 8 - Battle of Hinokawa

Narrator: All had fallen before him. Having defeated the Oda Army, a smile finally found its way to Orochi's lips. Having laid waste to everybody that stood in his way, Orochi had left a path of destruction in his wake. However, he was certain that man would try for one last desperate attack. When forced into a corner, man could prove to be a most fearsome beast. Perhaps that would provide the challenge that Orochi had sought for so long. Perhaps he would finally find satisfaction. However, a group of uninvited guests decided to join the battle for themselves. Undeterred, the Serpent King welcomed all that were foolish enough to oppose him in this final battle...

Prelude Scene

Random Character Response:
Huang Zhong: The enemy looks almost inhuman... Da Ji, who are they?
Dian Wei: Hey, there are some weird fellas in the enemy camp. Who or what are they?
Xiahou Yuan: Hmm... Now there's an interesting looking group. Who are they, Da Ji?
Zhang Liao: Those enemies, they seem to possess great skill... Lady Da Ji, do you know them?
Zhang He: The enemies move with unhumanlike grace... Lady Da Ji, who are those beings?
Sun Shang Xiang: What are they... they don't seem human... Da Ji, do you know them?
Gan Ning: Our next opponents... They seem tougher than the rest. Who are they, Da Ji?
Sun Ce: Whoa, those guys look weird. You know them, Da Ji?
Xiao Qiao: Hey, Da Ji, are those enemies gods? We won't get punished if we attack them, will we?
Ling Tong: There are some weirdoes over there... Da Ji, who are they?
Lu Bu: Da Ji... there appear to be some unusual figures among the usual trash. Do you know of them?
Dong Zhuo: So, that's our next enemy... Look at them strutting about... so high and mighty. Da Ji, who are those arrogant worms?
Meng Huo: There are some strange looking people among the enemy... Da Ji! Who are they?
Zhu Rong: Those are some new faces... You know who they are, Da Ji?
Yoshitsune Minamoto: A truly strange trio. They do not seem to be human. Da Ji, do you know them?
Kiyomori Taira: Ah, if it isn't my old friends... This should be very enjoyable indeed...
Himiko: Hey, I don't like the look of them... They look really angry.
Keiji Maeda: Looks like our next opponents are a little... different. Hey, Da Ji, just who are those guys?
Mitsuhide Akechi: Our enemies do not seem to be ordinary humans... Lady Da Ji, do you know of them?
Magoichi Saika: Hooo, there's a fine looking girl among the enemy. Da Ji, who is she?
Masamune Date: Da Ji, who are these fools who dare defy Orochi?
No: We have some interesting individuals in the enemy ranks... How exciting.
Hanzo Hattori: Something strange...
Ranmaru Mori: This enemy will not be simple to overcome. There is something otherworldly about them.
Ieyasu Tokugawa: Our next enemies appear somewhat... different. My lady, who exactly are they?
Nagamasa Azai: I can see some unknown warriors among the enemy... Lady Da Ji, do you know of them?
Kanetsugu Naoe: The enemy features three who have the air of the gods of ancient times. Can it be so...?
Musashi Miyamoto: There's something weird about those guys... I don't think they're even human...
Toshiie Maeda: This lot look pretty angry... I got a feeling they're gonna make this battle pretty tough for us.
Gracia: Who are those people? They look so lovely, all bathed in light...

Da Ji: They are the mystics, the arrogant fools who tried to keep Lord Orochi trapped in their world. It looks like they're a little upset about the brilliant plan I hatched to set him free.

Orochi: I come in search of the mightiest humanity has to offer. I have no use for immortals. I have spent an eternity in this skin. Now, they shall pay for the wrongs I have been done.

I didn't know that some random characters could be in Story Mode. My question is, does it work when you have one of the characters in Story Mode to get the random comments.
