I love the video game "Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows".

It's a great RPG. A warrior, a valkyrie, an elf, and a wizard overthrow the evil Advisors of the Court of the late Emperor. You fight soldiers, trolls, a pumpkinhead-scarecrow guy, a rock-monster, a lava giant, and even Death itself! In one level, there are aqueducts full of blood. You can transport yourself, destroy enemy transporters, find magic keys that deactivate shields, pull switches, etc.! For health, you can always eat ham, chicken, or cheese. I'm playing as the warrior, axe in hand. My sister plays as a valkyrie with a green sword. My dad plays as a wizard with a magical staff. My friend used to play as an elf with a longsword, but the elf was kind of weak.

There are other Gauntlet games as well, but this is the newest one.

I used to love playing Gauntlet Legends on N64 with my friends, and it seems by the looks of it, it still has the same 4 characters!! I used to play the wizard mostly.

What console is that new game on??

Ah, Seven Sorrows. I wouldn't say that's so much an RPG as much as a hack n' slash, but I'll leave it here anyways. It does have a sort of Baldur's Gate feel to it, even if it's only 4 hours long.

In fact, I think it was shorter than that. I'm waiting for one that will blow this one out of the water, as this was nothing but a rushed mess. It was supposed to have a deep storyline and two unlockable characters, as well as more customization, but instead, they just released a half done generic hack n' slash. I'm lucky I only paid $20 for it. Anymore would have been a complete ripoff, considering how little content it has.

And Dark Dante, it came out for PS2 and Xbox, not that I would altogether recommend it. It's worth about $5, for it's length. Anymore and you'd be ripping yourself off.

Gaunlet games are so much fun. I still have the original version for the NES.

I recently played Seven Sorrows with my friend on the PS2. It was pretty cool. Not too many games out there that people will play with you for long hours. DW and SW games usually tend to bore people out.

I have to agree, I was waiting for a new Gauntlet game to redeem the series after the nerfing done in Gauntlet Legacy (I despited not being able to turn items on or off or sell them). Alas, though Seven Sorrows had relatively smooth gameplay it was also shallow and bland. I finished it alone in something like 2 hours and didn't even bother maxing out the characters.

I played one years ago, probably the original, I'm not quite sure if it would be classified as an RPG though.

I remember it was an enjoyable, somewhat strategic hack-n-slash based game, I've not played the newer one though, I'm semi-curious about it.

oh...my...GOD! i cant believe someone actually said they loved Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows. that game was garbage! i bought it the day it came out, with a little hesitation, but my friend convinced me because we thought it was gonna be a fun co-op experience like a good Gauntlet game should be. it wasnt. it quickly became dry and repetitive. the game was obviously rushed. gold became useless quickly. the combat was very spammy and generic. the Warrior and Wizard pwn everything. we beat this crap in less than 3 hours. i dont think i had touched it since then. this is one of only 3 games i have ever traded in at an EB/GameStop. i just didnt want its presence to corrupt my other games. i think the final word in Gauntlet games is Dark Legacy. now THAT is a damn fun game! the characters moves are way more varied, theres always a need for gold, the enemies are plentiful and theres a bunch of other characters to unlock. this is hours and hours of Gauntlet fun done RIGHT!

Gauntlet Legends on the N64 was the best, especially with 4 players :D. I'm playing Dark Legacy, and I'm loving the additions to the original :)

I've played the original, Gauntlet: Dark Legacy, and Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows. The original was neat and fun, but didn't hold my attention. GDL, however, is the pinnacle of Gauntlet games, IMO. My friends and I had so much fun just plowing through hordes, in a much more action-packed manner. I chose the Red Wizard, and my other friends went with Blue Warrior, Green Knight, and Yellow Archer. All the memories I have of that game are wonderful.
But then we came upon GSS. And boy, that one was a flop. The magic of DL was gone. Only four characters, less of a plot than DL, and the enemies were dull. It took us literally two hours to beat. It was such a waste of money. :realangry:
Still, I won't let the horrible SS tarnish the almighty name of Gauntlet.
