It's just wrong to put stuff like that on television even though it's scripted. It's just really creepy and wrong.

It brings that movie with Dakota Fanning to mind and any movie that portrays something like that makes my stomach turn.
Not wrong to put anything on television. If you don't like it you don't have to watch it, but censorship is never the answer
Censoring rape in any movie or television show is something I would support 100%.

Ah, yeah, I forgot that one  that and the stepdaughter who hates that her dad married someone half his age

And the husband who's having an affair but can still kiss his wife with what he thinks is a clean mouth

Why can't you just not watch those programs instead of trying to force your opinions on what is acceptable on everyone else?

I know rape is a very touchy subject, but I don't think that means media should pretend it doesn't happen or try to sugarcoat it.

It's not that, but that some forms of media exploit it for profit and ratings.

If it fits the narrative and adds character/story development, then yes. But if it's rape in lieu of a love scene and just there for shock value, then no

Exploitation is the way the world works. It wouldn't be made if there weren't a lot of people who were interested in seeing it.

And it wouldn't need to be exploited if it wasn't so taboo to discuss it in mainstream media.

Like I said before, the more restrictive the mainstream culture is the more extreme the counterculture will be.

Then any movie or television show that portrays it should use all the profit to help fund programs to help educate people on it and try to help prevent it.

But sadly some people exploit it just to line their own pockets.

That would be nice, I agree, but it's not the way people work.

Same reason Communism only looks good on paper. Human nature is a bitch.

Lifetime should make movies about Communism.

Married woman has money taken away by rich husband and she tries to force Communism on him since she had to sign a prenuptial and she wants half of his assets following the divorce.

Too scared to read Berserk because I know I'll fall in love with Griffith and his prettyboy face... but then his madness and heel face turn happens and he turns into literal Satan and hurts people who care about him. :(

You should instead be scared to read Berserk because of the fact that it'll never be finished EVER.

Too busy with the Idolmaster.

You'd be surprised how many exploitation films actually turned out to be a well written piece of work

There was a movie called Ms .45 I believe. On the surface it seemed to be a rapesploitation film like any old schlock from the late 70s, with the main character being raped and seeking revenge on predatory men. But as she "punishes" men with swift death for offenses like rape, or assault, the line for what is an offense blurs and she starts killing men for merely perceived slights like asking an annoyed woman out on a date, cheating on their girlfriend, or even making out with his own girlfriend on the street in front of her.

She transitions from protecting and avenging women by killing their male attackers, to simply using other women as an excuse to kill men for her own pleasure, almost fetishistic. In the end she is killed by another woman.

It was a very well made and thought provoking film, and under Sakura's proposed censorship would not have been made as the entire premise was an exploitation film about rape. The plot is a very good look at how easily good intentions can slip into something malign when taken too far, just like censorship itself.

hm...sounds interesting. Character development looks interesting, too. I'll have to take a look at this one

The rape scenes are pretty graphic, but it's necessary to show how she transitioned from a victim into a predator herself. It would be hard to empathize with her without seeing what she had to endure.
