I loved Alex! And Clover! And Sam and Jerry! Actually, I love all of them, so I can't decide. But one character I particularly missed was GLADIS. The only cartoons I watch now are anime. Only because cartoons now...just don't feel as enjoyable. @Jasonic: I did watch a lot of them since they were syndicated. Timon and Pumbaa, Mickey, Donald and Goofy, House of Mouse, etc. Now I feel so nostalgic. Edited by Saber, Sun Dec 16, 2012 9:08 pm.

Making me nostalgic for all the Saturday morning cartoons I use to watch as a kid. Nothing but garbage now. Makes me feel sad for today's kids. |

Gargoyles was amazing. So was Recess and Kim Possible. I remember intentionally waking up early just so I don't miss those shows. It kinda bothers me that little kids these days don't know Bugs Bunny, Tazz, Daffy Duck, Sylvester, Tweety and all the other Looney Toons. They were a huge part of my childhood. They missed out on a lot. It makes me sad that those awesome characters are slowly fading. Edited by Chalk, Sun Dec 16, 2012 9:30 pm.

^ This and you have my childhood I will admit though, I did really enjoy Quack Pack, and still do, think that's the last Disney cartoon series that I did enjoy. Also grew up with the old Disney movies And the earliest of Pixar, but Pixar was never as dear to me as the other movies, so my Disney collection on my computer only have one Pixar movie, and not planning to add anymore atm. After 2000 there have been some decent movies, some alright, but to me that's... not what I'm looking for in Disney movies, I look for the quality of old, that can only be described as AMAZING, but I have been known for strongly disliking the animated style that "cartoons" have turned into

Our generation definitely had the best cartoons. But at least, back then kids didn't even know how to use a computer. Now babies know how to use an iPad. If I ever have kids, I'm going to make them watch the cartoons I watched. Wouldn't want them to miss out on the awesomeness that WAS Disney. Edited by Saber, Sun Dec 16, 2012 9:32 pm.

True, but Fishhooks, Shake It Up and the other shows don't come close. Am I glad I was born in the generation just before everything good was gone. The only cartoon I'm enjoying at the moment though is Legend of Korra. Season 2 next year, baby.

I don't know if it has something to do with growing up, but besides anime, I stopped watching cartoons especially the current ones. More interested in non-animated TV shows these days. --------- Colombians are definitely my favorite people on the planet. |

I watch Tron Uprising. Though I was a tad disappointed in the chosen animation style. I only watch Adventure Time and Regular Show these days. Both just pure genius. |

With all the discussions that have been going on, what's on my mind is something that got mentioned last night when talking to a certain person. I am SO grateful that I grew up with two older brothers, that were so much older than me that they were, 5 and 6 years. Thanks to them, I grew up with earlier installments in the series everyone say was their childhood. Some examples would be growing up with Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, despite only being 1 year old when the 3rd season was made, I was into Transformers before most of my friends, I grew up with the original TMNT cartoon that ended in 1996, I did not grow up with Super Mario World, my childhood was 1-3 and Lost Levels. I did not grow up playing Super Mario Kart 64, I played the original. My childhood Zelda was on the NES, not the SNES version. I've been playing Need for Speed since the 2nd game, same with Tekken, while everyone else seems to have grown up with Tekken 3 and never played the 2nd game. I played Crash from the start of the series, same with Spyro and Rayman. Those aren't are rare, but we got our Playstation very early so I did play many of the classic platformers long before a lot of my friends. I also had my first Final Fantasy experience with VII and VIII years before everyone else, probably not a lot of people on here, but one thing to keep in mind about that series is that I played VII and VIII after seeing my brother play them, but I did not know enough English to properly play an RPG game and make much progress until the release of Final Fantasy IX, years after my first encounter with the series. Also seem to be one of the rare people from my country who had the enjoyment of really getting into the Killer Instinct series. And how can I forget about Donkey Kong, knew several people who had either 2nd game or 64, but we had the original, and that was a popular game to borrow among the other SNES owners my age XD |

@TrasH: I grew up that way as well. My two older brothers are 7 and 8 years older than me. A lot of things suck about it being that big of a gap, but it was great when it came to cartoons and video games that I grew up with. |

I know the pains of it very well, as a kid I fought constantly with the younger of my brothers, and 5 years is still a lot, a very unfair size advantage there XD Plus I was a very weak kid, so even more unfair! But now that I'm grown up, I can appreciate all the good parts of it Playing FPS games at the age of 8 XD And Carmageddon as well I just got so much gaming wise through my oldest brother, always really looked up to him, and still do. Him I was a bit scared off though, I liked him so much that I was always afraid of making him mad XD

Knew how bad my grades would be, but seeing them on my transcript makes this whole mess a reality. Nothing short of tragic. Just told my mother; she didn't destroy me like I thought she would (and honestly hoped she would, only so that I wouldn't have to live with myself knowing how terribly I've screwed up). I still have all of my financial aid, though, and I'm not on probation. And there's no school until January, so I have a few weeks to try to rest and NOT stew in self-loathing. But the sucky part is that I deleted my facebook a while ago and recently deleted the vast majority of my friends' numbers, so I have no one way of contacting anyone to distract me from this mess. Why this. |
