From what I can tell, Dynasty Warriors is basically Call of Duty of Japan

they get billboards and bus/taxi advertisements and junk
If only there were more of those stuff in all over the world...

KOEI would officially get known. ^_^

My 7 yo nephew finds endless fun by playing DW and only riding around the stage with Red Hare.

How to make a FUN Warriors game:
*All the characters have a story. If repetitive stages are a worry, then change them up, don't be afraid to break from history. I LOATHE to compare the two series, but once again I must- if Basara can make 89 different stories, so can Koei with DW.
*Don't be afraid of changing up the formula. Square-square-square-triangle antics get a bit boring after a while. Let some weapons be totally different from others. Definitely keep some playstyles the same, but others, get creative.
*Cut down on generic chatter. Unless they're important to the stage, there's no need for them to be all "I'LL HAVE YOUR HEAD!" when they run up to you, only to be cut down five seconds later. Keep PCs and important generics/NPCs the only ones who talk. If you want to give flavor to the non-important generics, have them say unimportant silly/serious stuff mid-battle that can be cut off by cutscenes and the like. In an objective-based game like DW/SW, chatter needs to be kept to a minimum so you can actually GET those objectives.

To be honest, with DW7, DW8, and Warriors Orochi 3 (not 2, 2 is SUPER fun), I put them down once I finished their stories. I had no impetus to keep playing. With SW4 though, the extra mode was really fun, and playing most of the stages in free mode didn't feel like I was retreading. I guess it's that the stages in DW7 and DW8 are just set up far too much to have setpieces and specific ways to get through each and every time. If you're going to do that, then go all the way and be transparent, have it with an arcadey setup like SB so you can concentrate on mook-smashing. But if you want actual freedom, the way SW handled it with being able to go into enemy territory early at your own risk was great-- though, several stages in SW still locked you out of areas early, but I just didn't play them repeatedly.

Really? I thought it just because there's no Trap in DW.
