Although I admit I do use digital to get certain color gradients. It's really tough to get that perfect blue/yellow gradient without an airbrush or photoshop

I've more or less switched to digital for the same reason why most people go from physical copies of games to digital.

Space.

I have drawers full of old pieces and I'm simply running out of space... and I can't throw them away.

Edit: Also, oil paints are expensive. Sure, I could switch to acrylics, but they don't... feel right. I prefer oils, but lord knows I can't afford them right now.

I never worked with oils. They're beautiful, but I don't have the patience to wait on them to set. I have to use markers, ink and chalks that dry right away so I can finish the picture asap.

As a result I've gotten very fast at completing pictures.

Well, oils were the default in most if not all of my college painting courses, so I've grown quite used to them and have thus learned to cope with the drying time. :XD

I envy you. I can't complete artwork fast to save my life anymore... I've lost a ton of my gumption and I've become so self-conscious and doubtful, so taking time to walk away from a piece has more or less worked in my favor.

I really want to get back into painting, but not today, or any time soon. I need to go on a supply run and would have to make space for it...

creepypasta itself isn't creepy

The only decent one was the Godzilla game one, and only when it started.

The problem is that they go into so much detail they take away any mystery, then they inevitably get cheesy trying to write it like a movie script.

Just finished Battle of Setouchi. Stupid Gracia :nope:

If it wasn't for my Level 80 Mr.Honda :honda: everyone would have died, not just pre-scripted characters.

At least I finally have Matsukaze :ph43r:

Ones I been listening to have been true accounts. Generally people meeting a creepy person then getting freaked then left or as a child almost getting kidnapped by a pedo.

Hm, I think the 2 sentence stories are the better ones. Short, sweet, with enough information given for you to paint the scene in your head and have the desired effect of being creepy.

My favorite one, of course, is this one.

I usually like to draw on notecards like this, makes it easy to finish quickly and to see what's going to look good before I commit to putting it on a big canvas

Nice! I like how the colors bleed together.

And that's a smart move. I usually do a tone of preliminary sketches myself.

Here are two for that DW Redwall piece I recently inked.

Ended up swapping out Xiahou Dun with Xu Huang because I totes could.

I like seeing how different other people's sketches are, it's interesting to see your process at work

Where's the finished piece?

It's not colored yet, but here are the inks. I also posted a link several pages back, but I can't be bothered to pull it up, so here. XD

BG is pending... I'm... really not good with them.

Nice!

I usually have a background already thought out because I'll have the entire scenario played out in my head before I start drawing it

Or if it's a figure drawing I'll just cheese something

Pretty much my stance.

Though, for this piece... having the BG plotted out wouldn't have been a bad idea. :sakichi:

Tadakatsu and Hanzo look absolutely dumb with their helmets on in their kimonos. Even Kanetsugu took his helmet off!

Just put them in front of a fortress

Having the setting planned beforehand lets you plan the figures to interact and be a part of the scene instead of looking like they're standing in front of a backdrop

That sun looks entirely too happy to be witnessing the impending death of the God of War...

But now it's perfect! Don't need to work on it anymore!

@WL - That's more or less what I was thinking. Perhaps some mist and rain and ****, yeah.

But I'll get started on the BG tomorrow after work, assuming work doesn't deprive me of the will to live. That's the number one killer of my art mood right there.
