I heard Cao Cao steals the show in that.

I think I'd be sad to see Chen Gong's story though.

IMO 1994 Cao Cao from CCTV (Bao Guo'an) will always be IRL Cao Cao to me.

The script from the 1994 version was lifted verbatim from the novel. Cao Cao and ZL were legendary in that version. Also, it seemed more gritty and therefore "real" to me than the 2010 version. The action scenes were really, really hokey though  . The music was also more "Chinese" as well, so thats a plus. Crazy Nanman scenes :P

2010 version used a much more modern script and modern pacing. The clothes and set also looked too "glamorous" and "clean" for my taste, dude ancient Chinese floors were not antiseptic, gleaming and spotless LOL. Cao Cao was good too but in a different way, putting a more human spin on the legend. ZL wasn't as good IMO but Zhao Yun was loads better just because the action scenes overall was waaaayyyy better in the new version LOL. Another complaint was Lu Bu is far too much of a prettyboy Taiwanese singer vibe rather than the gruff muscular badass he should be. (I understand Chinese audiences don't much like the gruff muscular hardass tropes as much as westerners might) Also, no Nanman

I won't say one is better than the other, they're for different tastes and different generations. ^_^

And the conquest of Shikoku is complete! Motochika's dream has been accomplished. Western conquest might be difficult, but at least Motonari can rest easy now

I haven't been able to watch the 94 version yet, I want to soon though

I'm watching the battle of Guan Du right now

"It's not the size of the army that counts, but the skill
It's not prowess that counts in a captain, but finesse
If we are solely comparing the size of our armies I will never catch up to Yuan Shao
But if we are comparing capability and resourcefulness, even if you tie three Yuan Shaos together they will still be inferior to one Cao Cao!"

Yuan Shao has more style points, though, which makes him better.

2010 Yuan Shao was excellent, he was both noble and funny at the same time.

1994 Yuan Shao was also.... wait for it.... Zhou Yu :OMG: Yeah the 1994 version "recycled" actors  :haha: :OMG: it was quite funny in retrospect

Also gotta admit Cao Cao's beard in the 2010 version was EPIC!

Looking at my scores on the rankings in sw4-ii challenge mode.

#7 in chamber of death
#8 in chamber of agility
#5 in chamber of riches

Wonder if I can get to the top?

Just got a PS Vita and SW4 Empires today! (in Japanese, which is good....because it'll force me to practice my language skills  )

First time through the game, I'm playing as Nobunaga in the Okehazama scenario. I've already won the actual battle of Okehazama, so now time to get to running Owari

I might report in now and then over the next week. If I don't show up here as often, well you know why :sly:

Vita feels REALLY light for its size, so far so good, I'll keep you guys posted ^_^
