When a friend on FB is giving me an in-depth lesson on something I have absolutely no interests with but I don't want to be insensitive so I hear him out.

One word responses, even in text form, relate the same message of general disinterests in a topic.

Same. DW5 SSX was perf.
Well, I do like DW8 SSX a lot, though. Her outfit is great.

She just looks so weird in cutscenes.
DW5 SSX and DW8 SSX actually look the best IMO. I like how in DW5 the shirt and pant combo exposed just a tiny bit of flesh around her navel, that was sexy as  for me

DW8 SSX is pretty hawt though, though she definitely looks younger than in DW5.

DW5 SSX: Around 21?

DW6 SSX: 14 :XD

DW8 SSX: 16-17 ^_^

So its basically scrubs VS stop having fun guys :XD

He does have a point, that in tournaments the playing field has to be as balanced as possible for it to be truly fair. I understand. But the Caws? Who gives a F? If its not tournament who cares?

Likeable but unfortunately easily forgettable.

Like, I completely forgot he even died on my first playthrough until they showed the death reel at the end.

I was like "Hey, who's that... oh, right... Matt..."

I find myself almost always losing quick reaction events on the first try, every single time, the last few years.

I must be getting old :hiss: :ph43r:

A lot of video game pros are so full of themselves they hate spammers, newbies or people who can't combo. srsly. They automatically rage upon losing too.

I don't like SCIII that much, but yeah I don't care either. I don't even play online or tourneys.

Tell me about it

You know me, I'm a HUGE hockey fan and I play every NHL series game from EA Sports religiously (alongside KOEi of course  )

I don't play online in that game because people are just constantly bitching and moaning about this or that. "ooh the puck isn't bouncing right" "ooh the skating has changed (to be more REALISTIC, ahem)" Boo-hoo wah-wah.

I only play single player now, and I'm perfectly fine with that.

That said, at tournaments, man up. Learn to combo, and get better. That is the FGC ethos, and there are some good things out of it, how it rewards hard work and stuff... but dude I save hard work for real life work  I just play games for fun. ^_^

(That's why part of me hopes DW games don't change too much, I can use a brainless button masher every now and then  )

Yeah, I'm talking about fighting games. And yes, I also only play fighting games for fun, not for the sake of perfection on combos.

The moment they took out the unique movesets in CAS, I gave up on CAS entirely. What do I care for creating a character that's just going to have the same exact moveset as a pre-existing character? I'd might as well play that character and not bother with all that other crap.

"But Chibi, DW doesn't give you unique movesets for Edit Officer!"

Yes, but I don't care for the Edit Officer feature in DW either. Only time I do, it's Empires and even then, it's not like the previous games had tons of movesets created specifically for CAS and then removed them in the next game because "we can't be bothered to cater to filthy casuals".

I got SSF IV on a lark because it was cheap and promised Street Fighter action and characters. I'll be first to admit I was and am terrible at that game. I like to fool around on easy difficulty or have my (really good at street fighter) friend play at 20% health  and see if he can play perfect essentially

I like watching tournaments online and seeing some crazy combos and people being good at the game, but the hard work required to get to that level means I don't have time to get truly good at it because I have other stuff to do

NHL, though, I was actually pretty good at it but the online community has gotten a lot worse and I quit that. I just play GM mode now....

I just miss the twin kunai from SCIII. Now I have to go with either Taki or Talim if I wanted to duel wield and I'd rather just play as Taki or Talim than a character that yoinks their moveset.

Well, if they ever return to the series... :itsuki:

I think a lot of the SoulCal fanbase was and continues to be "casual" in the sense that they don't care about having a deep FGC experience but would rather have a fun fighting game to play with friends and then have a great single player experience. That's probably why SCV didn't do as well as it could- tried too hard to dedicate itself to hardcore fighting game fans while also retaining tethers to it's more "true" fanbase, and obviously chose the former over the latter when sudden crunch time came. As a result we got a half-baked game that really has no use outside of online play, which gets pretty boring for a lot of people.

So yes. Bring back CaS unique movesets. Bring back old fan faves (Taki, the Koreans, Talim, Setsuka, and Zas). Bring back robust single player modes (preferably better than the ones SCIV had and more along the lines of II and III, but I'll take that too). You already have a decent FGC framework, too, with what SCV set up.

I willed myself to forget that Namco made such incredibly short sighted decisions apparently.
